1. The location is decent (if you want to party of course - it is right in Budapest "party district" and you do not have to go far to party. Given that that was not precisely my purpose of visit, I kind of missed on it. 2. It get really noisy outdoors. 3. The staff - very responsive, very kind and willing to help. Thumbs up for the attitude! 4. The breakfast - it was good for the price. 5. The interiors really do need improvement: there were marks of the age on the majority of appliances and furniture. I would definitely do another coating for the bathtub. 6. The wifi in the property is ridiculously non-working and badly organised. It was the worst wifi connections through the last 7 years of my travels. I strongly recommend the property to make an improvement on this one.

The koala brand in European Youth Hostels is doing well. Koalas who have lived in several cities have basically large and clean rooms, each with its own bathroom and complete facilities. The atmosphere of the hostel’s own small bar is also very good, making it easy to make friends. The safety factor is also very good. The location of Budapest is right in the center of the city center. It is worth ordering.

My partner and I loved this hotel very much. It is a very modern hotel, and I believe it to be very well planned out. The room we had was very clean and well kept. We had a garden view on the 4th floor with a nice balcony, and found it just the right size. Although being the the first minimalist hotel we have ever stayed in it came quite a surprise to have only one small draw in the doorless wardrobe, but we persevered and it was ok. The safe built into the draw unit had a large capacity for all our valuables and took a 15 inch laptop easily. For those who like lots of gadgets, there are ample sockets and USB ports in just the right locations. Unfortunately the roof top bar was closed during our stay. The lifts are a modern marvel quick and very efficient. The hotel is in a great location surrounded by bars and restaurants, and central to places of interest. The large Budapest giant Ferris wheel is just a few hundred metres down the road. The reception staff are all very knowledgeable, friendly, and speak very good English, and helped us a great deal when trying to navigate the city. If we ever have the pleasure of visiting the beautiful city of Budapest again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Barcelo .

This is the 6th time coming to Budapest. There is no doubt that this is the most cost-effective serviced apartment. The location of the hotel is excellent, and the transportation is very convenient. The E100 at the airport gate leads directly to the Deak Fenere Ter at the entrance of the hotel. The hotel is the intersection of three subway stations. It is convenient to go everywhere, and it is also very close to Wazi Street and the Danube. Around the hotel you can eat, drink and have fun. This time we booked a room with an area of nearly 40 square meters. The kitchen can cook by itself, and there are pots and pans inside. Last summer, I lived in a room in the same apartment managed by another management company, but the price is more than 30% expensive. I strongly recommend this hotel apartment to those who are looking for cost performance.

The location is good, the terminal station of the 49th railway station is there, there is a supermarket at the street. In the three days here, I have breakfast and dinner myself. There are not many leeks in the supermarket that match the Chinese taste, and later in the IKEA and the central market. I bought some sly. There is a subway station and an ATM to withdraw money at the intersection, which seems to be called OTP. Very close to the temple, pay attention to open the door at ten

We stayed only one night, but it was great! The location is tremendous, everything is near. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Bathroom was nice and clean also. The only thing i would probably change was the glass door of the bathroom, it feel like it would be better if there were standard doors. But that was not a problem as we stayed for one night only. The staff was very helpful and fluent in english. And the breakfast is amazing! When we go to Budapest again, we'll stay at the Roombach Hotel 100% :)

We stayed only one night in Vagabond's penthouse apartment. It all went well until the day after our stay when I received a two-sentence email claiming that we left the bedroom in an unacceptable condition so they charged me 40 EUR cleaning fee. No photos attached, no cleaning invoice, just a made-up instant charge based on their belief that their false accusation is appropriate. The host was adamant that it was us and after a request for clarification they sent us some pictures. However, the picture details were deleted so there was no chance to check when were they taken. In the end, the host corrected that it was not us, but the guest staying after us. Personally, I am not convinced about the "following guests' story", smells more like a scam. It took 5 emails and two calls with the host and booking.com in a span of three days to achieve a single sentence apology and the confirmation about the refund. The received refund was less than the original charge due to currency change but who cares. The apartment itself is OK aside from missing microwave, terrace furniture and towel hangers, however, everyone should decide for oneself, whether, it is worth to grant bank account access to such unprofessional and ignorant bunch. My time and nerves wasted for this single day booking definitely were not worth it.

Good hotel for a short trip to Budapest. For a 4 star it’s not lavish however Local to all the attractions and food places. Customer service is really good. Hotel staff have been helpful with the city sightseeing tour and booking for us. Unfortunately our 3 yr old daughter had a fall in the hotel room from the bed through her fault and hurt her arm however hotel staff have been amazing help to call the ambulance for her to get checked over and or call a private doctor to be looked over. The hotel itself i is a old building built in 1937 and has been restored so walls are thin and can be cold however the hotel heater can help however if your a light sleeper I wouldn’t reccomend due to noise from hall way and outside. The only downside to hotel I’d say is The curtains are sooo small that don’t cover the width of the window so light seeps in early in the morning and lack of privacy in that aspect and the separate ironing room. Overall a good hotel for central locations.

The positive things: -great location (in the city center, close to amenities and public transport) -very nice receptionist -could check in a bit earlier, because a room was already ready -welcome drinks included -elevator -the nighttime noise was OK (our room was on the 2nd floor and none of us was bothered by the party downstairs) -spacious apartment -water and snack in the fridge The things they could improve: -cleaning (ants showed up, no soap in one bathroom, staircase was really dusty) -the TV didn’t work (we didn’t care much) -there was only one AC downstairs and in spite of being powerful it wasn’t enough to cool the upstairs area as well -breakfast (not such a great selection) Overall it wasn’t a bad experience, but I think it is overpriced.

The location is very good, on a pedestrian street opposite the supermarket, downstairs with a restaurant, pizzeria and beer hall. On the diagonal is Las Vegas **. If you take a taxi from the outside, you will find a shopping mall at the end of the pedestrian road. Among them are banks, money changers, supermarkets and Eve. Shoe store. My boss is Chinese and enthusiastic.

Stayed early April for two nights a Wednesday - Friday in a double room with Danube view; not too busy and more a couples, solo or business hotel, not family so much; customer service was fine. Booked directly for 10% discount via Danubius Hotels website, check in was easy and the tv will be on when entering the room showing the on screen guest system Otrum. Otrum includes television channels local and international news or sport, but also includes screen sharing, plus hidden under Guest Services -> Entertainment is YouTube; wifi in room up and down but fine. Cleaning personnel were friendly and polite, they asked if cleaning etc. needed; you can always call to request. Room service can be used during the day and into the evening via the Yellow Cafe, but no menu in the room nor on Otrum (maybe useful vs. Googling?). Cafe was fine, both heavier classics including local too, plus a lighter menu, and the cafe area spread out in natural light (nice in winter), plus soon their outdoor terrace will open. For nearby restaurants best to go Pozsonyi Street (parallel with Danube nearer the main boulevard towards Margit Bridge). Breakfast buffet was all good too with variety, while eggs or omelettes can be cooked in any style. Spa fine, including gymnasium and three pools one for laps etc. and two hotter pools; they provide towels but bring your own flip flops. All good and recommended.

If you don't need a river view, this is the best hotel you can book in Budapest for less than 1,000 yuan. The room space is large enough, the floor height is very high, almost 4 meters high, and the sanitary services are good. It's average, soft and hard. There are no toothbrushes and slippers in the room. If you need it, you can take it from the front desk. The only thing I want to complain about is that the toilet in this hotel is very tall. I am nearly one year tall. Mi Ba sat up and couldn't reach the ground with his feet! ! ! ! If it is a child or a shorter person, I am afraid that I have to climb up. I hope the hotel can see if the toilet can be changed in the future. If it is too high, it is easy to cause safety accidents.

Hotel is located 1-2 minutes from the market hall, and right next to the pedestrian zone, and maybe 1-2 minutes to the river abd bridge. So the location is very good. An airport shuttle bus station is about 10 minutes walking distance, very convenient. The hotel was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and big enough for a single traveler. The breakfast buffet was decent and everything looked and tasted fresh and good. In total, I really enjoyed my stay there and would come back anytime.

We had a brilliant stay at this amazing 4 star hotel. It was extremely clean and a lovely fresh smell throughout the hotel as it was recently renovated. The location is the best, about 1 minute walk from the airport bus drop-off point and close to all major attractions, no need to buy further tickets for trams or buses as you can walk everywhere. The rooms are beautiful and well equipped with coffee machine & pods, kettle, fridge & a safe. You can ask for fresh milk at reception for your tea & coffee. There was 2 USB charge points at each side of the bed. The air con works for both heat & cool and the room was very cosy for this time of the year. The bathroom was well appointed with toiletries, towels and a really good powered hairdryer. Breakfast was adequate with boiled & scrambled eggs, cheese, cold meats, juice, tea& coffee, fresh fruit and different breads. Sandro in the breakfast bar was lovely and made sure we had enough of everything to set us up for the day. All the staff were so friendly especially the ladies who looked after the rooms on the fourth floor (room 402) We would definitely recommend staying here and will happily do so when we return to Budapest.

Dear friends, this hotel I have had visited for couple days in business reason. Frankly speaking the stay was not bad but not too good as well. Step by step. Let me start from good points. First of all, hotel location is honestly great - directly in city centre, 5 minutes to the Main Street of all shops and boutiques; less than 5 minutes to the subway station, traveling by subway you may get in 10-15 min the one of the main destinations is thermal spa palace Szechenyi. Hotel’s condition is not bad, it is fresh and well designed. The room was nice - enough to sleep and take a shower (note: bath tub included); especially what I really liked is bath amenities, really good quality of shampoo and hair conditioner (hello ladies 😊) The restaurant for breakfast is standard and what is important, there was enough space for each guest during busy time like 9am; the buffet line provides guests with fresh continental and English breakfast. Although The impression of these privileges and facilities could be ruined by staff service. During the check-in the receptionist was really rude to one of my colleagues, and that was made me really shocked. For this man was big deal to explain who works elevator (note: his said that instead of your phone you have to use you key card and then the elevator will lift you up) ridiculous! ❌ Even when I tried to double check with receptionist regarding the breakfast restaurant location, this guy answered starting like this: “As I have already mentioned, maybe you didn’t listen to me…” Look, I understand that staff guys could be tired or not in good mood, however they are not allowed to behave like that according to the guests who is at first time here and might be tired after the long was as well. Agree? And housekeeping. During the stay, early morning some girls from HK service decided to start cleaning in my room and entered the room without even knocking ❗️can you imagine? And I was so surprised (not good) even after the immediate awake I could not catch up what is going on. Because of lack of English language and other hospitality knowledge this girl could clearly explain me nothing and was just standing looking at me and waiting for something. When I said “NO cleaning” she got off with unsuccessful face looking. ❌ I don’t want to tell that whole hotel team is like that, same time I kindly ask managers to provide some courses for people who is working and really don’t know who to communicate with guests. But if they really don’t care about hospitality then they have to find a job in other place. Unfortunately, as you may see, such details could definitely destroy your stay experience or vacation and nothing else is not lift up your mood. In conclusion, I would like to thank the receptionist during the check-out who was really kind and wish all the best for team and hotel’s improvement.

We come almost every year and this was the first time we used an apartment. We were concerned about some reviews we had read about the place but we had a very positive experience. The apartment was beauiful and brand new. The decoration and the style was refreshing, after a long sightseeing tour it was good to arrive to a place and chill with a glass of wine on the balcony. The staff was kind, they recommended cool places around Budapest and thanks to them, we went to the spa as well. It was easy to find and the location is in the heart of Budapest, easy to reach anything. I will recommend to my friend and for sure, we will come back to Budapest and will chose this property again!

We chose this hotel as it has just been opened and it still has this feeling of freshness. This comes with some drawbacks as well but let's focus on the advantages first. One of the most important one is naturally the location. It is just next to the main tourist places and you can visit all the main sites on foot. The room we got was decent in size; it overlooked the tiny yard which meant that it was - mostly - quiet. Apart from the air-con units which turned on and off at night both inside our room but also the generators outside. You could hear them when you opened the window. Breakfast is next door in the Mercure- albeit really good- it cannot be reviewed as Ramada breakfast. We found two things really frustrating which will prevent us from staying there again. The first one is the parking space. The hotel has no own parking lot and all they offer is looking for a place in the street. This is no good because in this area not only it is payable but also limited to 3 hours per day. Another option is a public parking lot a few hundred meters from the hotel. Not very convenient if you have luggage. The last one is the parking next door at the Mercure for ca 25 EUR per night. The receptionist at Ramada told us not to bother asking as it is usually full. Still we did ask and we conveniently parked there. The staff at Ramada are young and rather inexperienced compared to the Mercure. Finally, the glass door to the bathroom... OK with some pattern on it but still rather inconvenient when you share a room with someone. Also the elevator broke down one evening and was not functioning until noon next day and the hotel has 6 floors... All in all a decent place with no frills.

It wasn’t the best ‘first impression’ arriving at the hotel. We were served by an older man and he clearly didn’t like the english. I stood there waiting as a couple were in front of me sorting their room, another couple came in a good 5 minutes after and he chose to ignore me and tried to serve them first. This was the second time he did this (once when we arrived to drop bags and the second when we asked for our room key). I was not happy at all. I haven’t let this situation reduce my rating as all other staff were lovely. From a hotel point of view, its most defiantly not a 5 star hotel. Its very average but comfortable. A decent location and doesn’t break the bank. We got what we paid for. The breakfast was very nice with a good selection of food and drinks. They don’t have a bar area currently so that would have been nice to wait for our room but we had to go out and find somewhere for the sake of 25 minutes. Location wise, around 1 mile to the Christmas Market area and shops, 1.1-1.3 miles to the cruise boats. We walked most places. Overall, I wouldn’t stay again, but it was an average hotel for a 3 night stay.

I read some of the critical reviews with disbelief. This was our second visit, the first was some 6 years ago. And it was still great. The weather was really hot so we had our breakfasts on the first floor terrace, sitting in the shade. Excellent small room with tip top air conditioning, which it needed to be given the temperature went up to 36 degrees. The staff were both helpful and kind, my wife tripped while we were sight seeing and badly bruised her face. The staff gave us a cold compress to help bring the bruising out. A few minutes walk from the Danube, on the Buda side of the city. Great location.

The location is very central, three stops from the train station, and it takes 10 minutes to get there. From the Iron Bridge Ferris Wheel's various net review foie gras restaurants are very close. Closed after 11 pm, you need a room card to enter the hotel. In addition, the ten girls' room is very good. They are in the two separate rooms on the edge of the hall, all of which are girls. There are men and women in the public bathroom rooms upstairs. And the ten-person room is not cute, it is not a steel bed, it will not affect both sides, and there are cabinets. But the lock must be brought on its own.

I loooved this room. It's how a room would look if I decorated it. Very chic, clean lines, lots of mirrors and a closet with a decent amount of space. The price was very reasonable. There were great restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The staff was very nice and super helpful. The location was ok for the price. The train/tube was less than a half a block away. The bus and tram to city center were at the end of the block. However, most tourist attractions were about a 15-20 minute bus ride away. Not terrible by any means but if you like to be in a more tourist friendly area- this isn't it. Also, the hotel occupies a floor in a commercial building. So the hotel doesn't control the common areas. At night, there are no lights in the hallway/ common area of the building. It's actually pretty creepy trying to make your way in the dark from the main level to the level the hotel is actually located on. I complained about it to the front desk but nothing changed as I am not sure they have the power to change this. Outside of that, I loved the hotel and would recommend it to those who are a bit more adventurous and are ok living outside of the tourist trap.

The hotel is small and nice with modern rooms which are clean. The location is busy with tourists and there are good restaurants around. Also the one in the hotel is really good. The hotel is located on a hill so you should count with some walking to get to the city center if you don’t want to get a can or go by bus. The staff could have been more proactive. We came by car and asked about parking. We were told that at the end of our stay we have to pay for all the hours we spent in the location. An hour costs around 4€ so we went to our room and were prepared to park somewhere else. Then we went to ask again and we were told that they can give us a ticket that is valid only for 24 hours, costs 20€ and that is the best they can do. So we asked if we can get 3 of those tickets as we stayed for 3 nights. It was possible. I would prefer if they told us straight away and we didn’t have to ask 3 times. Also a la carte breakfast called “Frenchy” is included in the room rate and you can also order something else if you want. It includes 2 croissants, 2 jams, butter, juice, water and hot beverage. We said we wanted the offered French breakfast but if we didn’t specifically ask for all the items we didn’t get them. So the first day we didn’t have the juice and butter, the second day butter and third day water. Not a big deal but I would assume you wouldn’t have to ask item by item if you say “Frenchy”.

The location of the hostel is just in front of the Capitol, the best attraction in Budapest. We walked around the Capitol, which is visited by tourist destinations every morning and evening. The room was clean but not 100% satisfied. It was located close to the ALDI and was a little noisy because it was under construction to open a restaurant on the first floor when we were visiting. It would be perfect if breakfast service was provided from restaurants. There is a microwave and refrigerator available for public use.

I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights in a room with my 5 other friends, the room was clean and quite modern which was great. Some rooms don't feel as nice as others but I don't think that matters that much. Nice bar on the bottom floor and terrace at the top which was handy for prees. Amazing location which was walking distance to many of the great bars and clubs in Budapest. It was great value for money considering it was £35 for 3 nights and it had an amazing atmosphere. Only downside we found is that unless you leave the window open (which you wont want to do if your room is facing the courtyard), the room will smell bad pretty quickly. Overall a pretty good hostel for people looking to party (the noise goes on till the morning).

This is the best hotel I've stayed on when traveling in Eastern Europe. As soon as I entered the hotel room, I felt very warm and comfortable. There's free water and cola, both tomorrow. This is not available in many hotels. The bath water is also very large and hot, and I personally like it. Breakfast is western food, but a little more than other hotels. While this hostel is centrally located and very affordable, it has major flaws that would not make me come back next time. First and foremost I couldn't sleep well as my room was basically situated just above a noisy bar with music and people shouting until very late in the night. Another flaw is the WiFi connection which is only usable if you stay in the living room, but it didn't reach my room. Also if you are in the top bunk bed you'll find it quite gimmicky to climb down and Im quite fit and athletic. Appreciated the presence of curtains and power socket in the bed but remember to bring with you a Hungary adaptor. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

This hotel is very convenient to the city, with a metro only a 5 mins walk away. The hotel is good value for money as it is inexpensive. The young man on the front desk was always lovely and welcoming to us and the ladies doing the breakfast were also lovely. The hotel is dated but has everything you need. The shower head holder on the wall was missing a screw so the water was directed at the wall, this was a pain. The foam from the shower gel came up in the middle of the bathroom floor through another drain, this then wet the floor and made it slippy. The breakfast was very limited, I was unable to eat most of it. The kind lady at breakfast went out of her way to go buy gluten free bread for me as there was none at the hotel. We could hear some noise coming from outside while in the room but it was tolerable, however everytime someone showered or flushed the toilet the water made a lot of noise. The mini fridge also didn't work, we tried plugging it in but it made a lot of noise and didn't sound right so we unplugged it again as didn't trust it. The air con system is also extremely noisy, we wanted to have some heat on during the night but had to turn it off due to the noise, this then left us very cold as there were only 2 single quilts for 2 people sharing instead of a bigger quilt. Other than that the room was spacious and generally met our needs. The walls aren't too thick as we could hear talking in other rooms.

The location of the hotel is excellent: it lays few steps way from Saint Stephen’s basilica. One can reach any of the tourist sights on foot from there...and if you feel tired or lazy, few meters away there is Deák Ferenc ter, the junction where the three metro lines meet and also hub for busses and trams. The hotel is clean and well kept. Travelling alone I got a double room for single use: it was a bit small for the hotel category, but enough for me. However for two persons that could have been a bit tight. It is very quite considering the location. Good breakfast. Pros: great location, cosy and well kept environment. Cons: small room, no hangers (I didn’t know where to put even my coat), the pressure of the water in the bathroom was too low (it was a bit awkward to take the shower).

Stayed here for 4 nights with my mom and sister for a city break. On arrival we were greeted and quickly checked in. We were on the fifth floor. You have to get the lift to the fourth floor and then walk a flight of stairs to the fifth. We didn’t find this a problem. The room was very clean and tidy the beds were very comfortable and the room cleaned daily. The breakfast was basic but enough to keep you satisfied. Fruit, cereal, scrambled and boiled eggs etc. The bread was lovely and fresh. We needed advice regarding bus routes etc and the people on the desk were so helpful and polite. We felt so comfortable at this hotel. We had a lovely stay and couldn’t fault the place at all. I would definitely return. Thank you for a lovely stay

My stay at the hostel was amazing. The privacy provided by curtains made me feel very comfortable. The beds were also comfortable. Over all I very much enjoyed my stay at the hostel. Only bad thing that happened was overenthusiastic staff member that kept telling us to keep quiet, although we were having a regular conversation during night time on weekend, even though during other nights there were people making noises that were disturbing during the week in night time. + good privacy + nice staff + comfortable beds + good kitchen + peaceful + close to a metro station - on other nights seemingly people could be as loud ad they want and other nights even regular conversation is too loud according to staff

I booked several nights for myself and friends at this excellent, centrally-located hotel, in April. Not for the first time either, as it is always my hotel of choice for visitors. I live in Budapest. In fact I own an apartment in the same street, but when with friends I prefer to stay at the IBIS. The rooms are comfortable with good beds, even on the street side it is quiet, the buffet breakfast is quite reasonable in range and content, and one of my friends this time was gluten-intolerant so it was important for her not to eat the wrong things. When told this a member of staff helpfully pointed out to her all the things she could eat and said tghat if she wanted anything specially he would try to obtain it for her. Right next to the National Museum, one minute from a Metro station and many other public transport connections, walking distance over the bridge to the Gellert spa, minutes from the Danube itself of course and Vaci utca. Perfect location for sight seeing and getting around. But it is the quality, friendliness and general knowledge of the staff who really make this hotel, even if you just stop by for coffee as I frequently do when shopping. On this occasion I was especially grateful to Dani, Vivien and Nam. Dani because he always goes out of his way for guests and is a pleasure to find at the reception desk, Nam becaus he was so very helpful and informative about arranging spa bookings for my friends, and Vivien because she changed their' dates of arrival and departure for me immediately and without question when Easyjet bumped them off their flights and lost them a day and a half of their holiday. Furthermore an un-named (sorry) member of staff did exactly the same thing on the phone for me two weeks before they came because, incredibly, Easyjet did that to them not once but twice. They ended up losing two and a half days of the holiday they had been looking forward to all year because of Easyjet, but the kindness of staff at the IBIS Centrum went a long way towards making up for that. This is a minor issue but please do something about the microwave oven SOON so that hot snacks at the bar can be resumed!
