|2.45km from city centerThe Westin was very centrally located close to shops and restaurants. Easy self parking at the resort at no extra charge was available. We booked an ocean view double queen room with a balcony. The room had a lovely view. I only rated our experience four stars due to just a few issues. When we booked our room, the Westin site had a banner that said we would be charged a $35 per day resort fee that included bikes for two, beach chairs, and island shuttle service. When we checked in, we were handed a flyer that listed available amenities and on that list was, “discounted bike RENTALS available.” Confused, we pointed out to the very nice person who checked us in that our main focus during our stay was to explore the island by bike, and the reason we decided to leave our own bikes at home was that we were told bikes were included in our resort fee during our stay. After just a brief moment of haggling he agreed that it was confusing and agreed to comp our bikes during our stay. This is an unacceptable and unnecessary confusion for guests, making a difficult situation for staff, and gives an unfavorable impression of the “resort” from the very start. Additionally, all the amenities at the hotel seemed understaffed, and worn out. We saw stacks of beach chairs near the beach walkover but no attendants. The pool area later in the day was a mess of wet towels abandoned on chairs and needed a refresh. The hot tub wasn’t hot and needed repair. Another slight issue with the hotel was that our room seemed very damp when we first arrived. The carpet felt wet. The air conditioner had been left running with the fan in the ON position. It’s possible that this made the room more humid. We switched the AC fan to AUTO and the issue was resolved by the next morning. The beds and linens were very comfortable but the bathroom seemed a little tired and could use a remodel. Lastly, we were disappointed when other guests around our room chose to smoke on their balcony. I suggest that if this is not allowed, the resort should put small No Smoking signs somewhere out on the balconies to remind their guests. All in all it was a pleasant stay. The grounds around this hotel are beautiful, beach access is easy, staff were accommodating, and it’s hard to beat this location. Next time we will probably bring our own bikes and either stay at a different “resort” for more pampering or a less expensive more do-it-yourself option. This hotel charges for the former but in reality runs more toward the latter.

But if you think you're getting a nice, hot shower, you've got another thing coming. I suppose the management is attempting to ”Save The Planet!” on my behalf by using a super low-flow showerhead. Or it could be they're just saving money. I suspect the latter, but you be the judge. Imagine that instead of hot water jetting from a showerhead, instead it just kinda drizzles out, and it's not very hot. Go stand in the fog on a damp summer's morning and it's about that. I'm going to go get some coffee and maybe add something stronger to improve my ruined mood. Good day now.

We called ahead because we were buying groceries and wanted to make sure the room was ready and was told our room was ready for early checkin. Get there and they said it wasn't ready and had to wait 40 mins for our room. I had cold food that needed to be put in the fridge. Then the fridge in room was broken, asked for a different one, but the second one was broke too. Exhaust fan in bathroom doesn't work ( we had the exact same room last year and told them the exhaust fan didn't work... a year later and they still didn't fix it!. The silver coating on the Faucets at sink are pealing off. Carpets in hallways have large rips in them, bath drain was broke, elevator certification not up to date- it is expired by more than 4 months and one elevator makes horrible creaking sounds when in use. Maids are talking loudly in the halls at 7:00 in the morning. We've stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past, but this will be our last stay at the Hampton on Jekyll Island. The rooms cost too much for things to be broken, and not work. This hotel is really going downhill. There was a dead snake on the patio for a whole day that the staff never removed. We still love Jekyll Island, although every year we go there are more people.... but this hotel and service in not recommended any more.

By far, this was the cleanest and most overall comfortable hotel I've been in within the last 5 years. From the check in to the breakfast it was a true relaxing stay.

|10.47km from city centerWe typically do not book at La Quintas but went with this one because we read a lot of positive reviews. So glad we listened to the other travelers! We were very pleased! The room and all common areas were exceptionally clean. Front desk folks were friendly and super helpful. Convenient location. Normal continental hotel breakfast. The only negative thing were the pillows. I really think they were stuffed with pine straw! LOL! That would not stop us from staying here again - we'll just bring our own pillow next time.

Informed the young Lady that I did have reservations and she looked me up and took payment procedure for the room and it took all of 10 mins. All while explaining about breakfast and other amenities they had to offer. Again awesome experience and I do recommend a stay here!! Thank U all for making my stay wonderful!!!

|10.56km from city centerThis was my third stay in this hotel. We had absolute GREAT experiences on our previous trips (all stays in 2022). Unfortunately, this visit was really bad. Upon entering our room there was a very bad odor. As we unpacked we noticed the bed sheets seemed damp. We thought it was because the sheets were not fully dry. After the first day we realized there was a serious moisture issue. Our clothes were damp and the smell was overpowering. I'm not sure if there was a recent piping issue or what is going on. It was not like this during our last visits. We have returned home and now I am having sinus issues. :( I do hope this issue is taken care of soon.

|0.52km from city centerThis was my 1st time visiting St. Simon so I had not seen the hotel before. I was worried with the noise when we pulled in right as a plane was preparing to leave. I was very happy as soon as I went into the hotel and the noise disappeared. We didn't hear a thing while inside. The room was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable with soft sheets. I slept very well. The cons: the bathroom door is a sliding barn style that doesn't latch so it slid open as you were taking care of business. The light fixtures was not properly attached to the ceiling and the cabinet doors were not aligned level when they were assembled. They just need to do a quality check through the rooms to fix the little things. The pro: the gentlemen running the breakfast were on point! And the night clerk was very helpful with suggestions for dinner. The staff can make or break a hotel. These 3 staff members are definitely assets.
