Not an issue when I understand its nature and Hotel team attended rightaway and solve the issues. At my checkout, I paid everything. Settled my bills, asked them to store my luggages for 2 hours, as I wanted to do sightseeing and lunch before heading to flight. We stopped by reception twice, once we were waiting for the vehicle we simply asked for a glass of water, even the staffs reconfirmed if we want a glass or bottle.. we clearly mentioned that we need a glass of water. They brought us a bottle of water, which is very nice, excellent and we loved it. After checkout we went out, due to traffic we came back to Hotel in rush, worrying that a minute wasted might miss our flight. It ruined my whole impression with the hotel when the staff member came running behind me mentioning I have a billed to settle, I asked her what is the item to pay since I have settled all my Bill's. She had no clue, started calling her colleagues, while I kept saying I might miss my flight. Make it hurry, at the end because of the hotel service I wasted my time to pay for a bottle of water which is misunderstandings or the hotel, served us a bottle when we asked for a glass, fine if they charge for a glass. Not a problem to pay but the charges should be presented and asked to pay rightaway when they know that we are checkout and ready to go. Just running behind me for payment of a water bottle, irritated me alot and changed my whole impression of the stay. Nice hotel, if you want good comments and to be popular in the city with the tourists. Need to train the team of what service is. Its definitely not the Receptionist fault. Management should train them, be available to make decisions when it's related to customers experience. Or empower the Receptionist in decision making. I have no problem paying for a bottle of water when I have paid alot more for my accommodation and food there.. but last impression was spoiled from their own mistake.

|5.04km from city centerFirst the god things. The location and the hotel surrounds are just great. You an walk to a number of local restauants and shops with no trouble at all. Reception is very impressive with an open style leading onto the pool and longue area. Staff are frinedly and courteous and the bar area is good. When we were there, a number of travel groups arrived and departed so they seem to have a good market cornered there. Unfortunately now onto the bad. While our room was spacious with a balcony there were issues with cleanliness, particularly with the bathroom and balcony. There appeared to be an ongoing issue with plumbing meaning the room smelt and ther was some mould on the tiles. To be fair to management, as we were only staying in the room overnight with a very early start, we did not complain or bring it to their attention, however, the problem with the bathroom was obviously not a new one. It is quite reasonably priced (about 11000 rupees fora night) but I don't think that menas you need to put up with a not so clean room.

|5.73km from city centerStayed here for a week, I think I really like this hotel. Because it is a decision after comparing Trip.com and booking. The housekeeper Saman is very good. When I arrived late at night, I needed to contact him. He would drive a Tuktuk car to the gate to help me with my luggage. They will also care about the movement of the guests and remind me to pay attention to safety late at night. The room was very clean, with a kettle and mineral water, and the air conditioning was very good. There was no mention of hot water in the room, in fact hot water was provided, but you may need to bring your own slippers and toothpaste toothbrush. Another is that this is more like a private garden, although there is the occasional sound of planes flying, but most of the time it is very quiet. Especially they have tried loading wifi. And the hotel has its own kitchen, you can also consult the housekeeper if you want to use it. English communication is more important, but there is a translator estimated to be no problem. We are not registered on the reservation register... difficult to make ourselves understood given the staff's level of English. But a few minutes are enough to give us a room key. The door opens... the anxiety... we didn't want a luxury room but just a clean room. What a desappointment. The air conditioning is not working, it is warmer inside than outside. The night will be very difficult given the noise level of the air conditioning, not to mention the generator, certainly at the foot of the bedroom, which is switched on because of the systematic power cuts in the country. The bad discoveries will follow. The general state of the room, worn furniture, the toilets are dirty and the shower barely flows (after 24 hours of travel, a good shower would be so appreciated). The apotheosis: the bed. The sheets are torn and stained not to mention the wall at the head of the bed, 1/2 inch of dust stuck on. Welcome to dust mite allergy sufferers! Only positive point, the swimming pool... which it at least is clean. The photos speak for themselves.

The surroundings are relatively remote. Breakfast is 3 US dollars per person, but the quality is very good. We originally spent the night in Negombo, and the elephant orphanage the next day, in fact, there is really no need to waste money in the elephant orphanage. Because I only used Ctrip to watch, I feel that Negombo has no good hotels at all. In fact, there are many good hotels here! There are many delicious gourmet shops. But to book this kind of reservation, Ctrip has very few listings.

|9.01km from city centerWe stayed here for one night on two dates using the hotel as a transit hotel on arrival and leaving Colombo. This is not really a tourist hotel and more suited to businessmen. The hotel has so much potential for overseas guests due to its close location to CMB airport (15 minutes by car) but needs a lot of repairs and improvements. The overall decor is dark and gloomy. Exterior of building needs painting. The hotel has poor streetscape appeal so on first arrival a guest feels they have made a poor decision however on entering the lobby and met by friendly staff it becomes more reassuring. Lots of doors and passageways make the hotel feel uninviting, dark and old fashioned. Stayed twice and never saw the swimming pool which I understand is somewhere in the hotel. The restaurant food does not suit overseas guests, was expensive with limited choices so we ordered room service twice. Reception staff were kind, helpful and friendly. I hope the owners put some money into refurbishing this hotel as it could be a fantastic hotel for overseas guest coming through Colombo. Until it is smartened up I would only stay 1 night whilst in transit.

In addition, you can enjoy all the equipment in the main building. The swimming pool is nice and the hotel has a private beach which looks great. The service staff were very good. Breakfast is very generous, single room set, but with children, only 850 rubles (33 yuan) for half-price breakfast. The next day I stayed at the Jetwing lake hotel under Lion Rock, great!

|6.48km from city centerThis was my third stay at the Goldi Sands, honestly, the last time was nearly 20 years ago but I had such a great time back then I had high expectations. In the intervening 20 years, the hotel has had a revamp, double the size, double the number of swimming pools, added an elevator and they've removed the beach-fronted bungalows. All of which I think was a smart move and well worth doing. What has changed is the service and the catering. The staff are of course all very polite just that they didn't go the extra mile like they used to. We arrived late as our flight had been delayed, all I wanted was a couple of bottles of beer, they did arrive but I almost had to beg. I booked a taxi to the airport with the front desk, but they forgot, the waitresses at dinner were all about the hard upsell rather than serving. The breakfast as far as my memory serves me used to be awesome, today's breakfast is the same every day and lacks imagination, is poorly presented, and includes the worst coffee ever. The hotel has a confusing number of tariffs from all-inclusive to room only which means if you want to buy a drink it takes forever as they have to check your ”status” and then if you pay cash they have to go to the cashier as they carry no float. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but basic. All in all it is still a good hotel to choose but sadly it is no longer in the memorable category.

After communicating with me, I quickly changed the room. The facilities and equipment are quite old. When booking this hotel, don’t book it on Ctrip The reservation for dinner and breakfast was a group that was not delicious. The Western food at the restaurant for an extra fee is still available and the price is not expensive. It is just too close to the seaside. Sometimes there will be power outages. Sometimes the lights will be on and the air conditioner will automatically turn off (I guess the voltage is insufficient) , there is also a jewelry store on the first floor of the hotel, don’t buy it, they are all jewelry with high water content! When I left at the end, I piled a pillow mountain of tips on them (just 1,300 rupees).

My friends took a few photos with drones. The staff were warm and thoughtful. The breakfast and dinner were in the villa. The chefs are good at cooking. , Also sent us local wine and yogurt, the payment is settled in US dollars. In the evening listening to music and birdsong, watching the stars, occasionally fireflies fly by, children playing in the swimming pool, the years are quiet, but the next day the plane returns to Shanghai. The hotel is 3 minutes from the city's most animated street with some quality restaurants and a nice bars and 5 minutes from the beach. The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable. The pool is at the stop so the pool is full of dead insects and plant residues: bathing has your risks and dangers. No lifts and very narrow stairs. The hotel, including rooms, is smoker. Bright and cheery. Cosy. Small swimming pool. Loved the pets too. Nice set breakfast, freshly cooked and served to you. Really short and simple straight walk to the beach, restaurants and bars. I went on a boat cruise one evening and the owners checked to see that the company was legitimate. On two separate evenings, they reserved me lovely tables at restaurants and made sure I had good service. They got up early when I left to help with my luggage and to see me off. Support small businesses. Absolutely lovely.

|6.31km from city centerWe arrived to this hotel for our last day of our trip, after seeing very nice pictures of him ,and in addition the airport shuttle and breakfast included in the price. It was a little expensive but we assumed it was worth it and since it is the last day of the trip we wanted to go for sure. After a full day of bus traveling we wanted to take a shower, but there was no hot water and barely a water flow. When we told the employee at the hotel he looked surprised and wanted to try to fix it in the middle of the night, without success. In the morning when we finished the minimalist breakfast and went over to pay and check out, the managers said they were knew about this problem ,and when I asked why it was not said before entering the room I did not receive an answer. We ended up getting an embarrassing 10% discount. Anyway, a ”resort” is not. If you are looking to finish/start your vacation in good taste, I would reccommend you to look elsewhere.

The room was clean and tidy and yes a few things around the place need a bit of a face lift but let me tell what you will get! Nasmeer and his team will go above and beyond for you! You will always be greeted with a welcoming smile and nothing and I mean nothing is to much trouble! The location on the beach is amazing and after school the local children and adults will be your entertainment.. as the community gathers on the beach you will watch the children play soccer ( football), cricket and fly kites, there is music and laughter all while you sit either around the stunning pool or on your balcony watching the spectacular sun set! This place is well worth a stay!
