The hotel is very small, a little road from the city center, there are several hotel parking spaces next to the charge, we parked next to the road parking space no charge at night. The room has a large window to open in. It is not convenient to open. There is no ventilation fan in the bathroom, and the ventilation is not good.

Long day; we drove off the autoroute and followed the first sign for a hotel we came to. A great way to do it. We really liked this place! Parked in underground parking ramp under the hotel. Confusingly, it is in the same building as, and shares an entrance with, the IBIS, but this is certainly a cut above the IBIS. Very comfortable facilities throughout. Beautifully decorated. Very accommodating staff. Wonderful restaurant - we went there both evenings. And the location - very easy walking distance from the Old Town. Cathedral and Joan of Arc centre not too far away. Gas station around the corner. Supermarket around two corners (not open on Sundays!). Street market just beyond the supermarket. Loved it.

We stayed in Rouen for one night at this Ibis. The staff was great. The room was clean. Nice modern bathroom with shower. They had a lift as well. The hotel was hard to find on my Phone google maps though. But that is the phone’s issue. From the train station just walk straight to the river down rue de Joan D’arc, turn left at the bridge and you will find it. Enjoyed my stay. There are many choices for breakfast:yogurt, meats and cheese, jam, breads, pastries, cereal, eggs, coffee, tea and juice. Excellent buffet. Great location to visit the old city of Rouen. It is within walking distance.

We arrived and were unsure if we could park on the road. The member of staff was very helpful but it really went downhill from there. Free parking on the road. The reception isn't inspiring so we asked to see our rooms. We had booked double rooms but were shown to two singles. The rooms were incredibly small and very hot. I'm not sure I would have fitted in the shower. We asked for double rooms as booked and, we think reluctantly, we were given these which were much better. Mine had a great view of the cathedral. There is no lift and the staircase is narrow - a problem for my friend who does not travel light. An easy walk to the sights and restaurants.

I was looking for a central location for my wife, my young son and I to stay in Rouen. I came across Hotel Des Arcades and picked it as it was such great value for money for the location. After booking I read some of the reviews and was concerned. However, I was so happy to see how wrong people are. Our room was clean, comfortable and well appointed, the hotel staff were very polite and helpful giving us great advice about where to park nearby and offering a discount. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can not recommend the place enough. For the money that we paid I was absolutely delighted and would definitely return there again.

I adored this little hotel. Cannot get better in terms of location, and if you are lucky enough to book the Atelier like me, you will have the best views in Rouen.! The staff were wonderful, breakfast correct (no hot dishes), a stone’s throwaway to the clock and cathedral. My atelier had a terrace and little garden and incredible views of the cathedral, saw the light show of the cathedral from my bed at night. Small room but light and airy. Bathroom with a bath (love bathtubs). Can’t rave enough about this. My brother and his family stayed at another 5star nearby and it was money wasted! Mine was a 3star and FUN ❤️. I was there over a weekend so the parking outside was free, but there was a parking nearby.

There was nothing to like about this hotel other than it appeared to be clean. Appalling lack of service at reception, guest services and room service was a joke! We arrived at 7pm, haven given prior notice of our late arrival. Upon arrival we found the hotel doors locked. It took 15 minutes for staff to respond to the doorbell and our knocking. Once my husband was allowed in the hotel, the staff person promptly disappeared, and my husband waited another 10 minutes for staff at reception. Then it took an incredible 20 more minutes for the untrained receptionist, a lad in his late teens/early 20’s to delivered a keycard for the room that actually worked! Apparently the long wait was due to the fact the young lad did not know how to make a key card for guest doors and had to wait for a manager to arrive to the property or perhaps finish eating his dinner, or whatever. Once checked in, there was no assistance with luggage nor a luggage trolley. My exhausted husband, we’d driven 10 hours from SW France on our way to the Eurotunnel in Calais and Rouen was our stopover, had to sherped all essentials, including 2 very irate cats to the room. Room & shower room very basic. Bed mattress was hard as rocks, and rolled around on wheels with the least amount of movement. Pillows inadequate. The room was hot and stuffy. The AC useless, which left us with the option of opening a window. But, with 2 uncaged unhappy cats, we couldn’t risk it. So we all suffered together. The hotel website says it offers room service, which being tired, hungry and thirsty we looked forward to. Again, we were disappointed as there is no room service per se. There is a take-away menu from a nearby restaurant offering 3-4 items with a wait time of an hour. We declined. On the other hand, the lad could and did bring us drinks from the hotel bar. Breakfast was a joke. Even by French standards it was meagre, disgusting fare. It all looked like something out of a vending machine, and not much of it. Parking. Hotel website says parking is available. It is a small bit of pavement behind the hotel. There are no lights nor from what we could discern no security cameras. However, there was from our perspective one drug deal going down and a couple of prostitutes working their “territory”. Never in my life did I ever think one of my hotel reviews would include either of those activities! My husband chose not to park our SUV & trailer in the car park, but instead chose the safer option of parking along the street near the hotel under street lights. Would we return to this hotel. Highly doubtful.

This is a quirky property with easy access to Rouen old town. We booked a family room for 4 but ended up with 2 adjoining double bedrooms on the top floor in the annexe. This was perfect, the rooms were accessed by our own private staircase and faced away from the main street so were quiet. Beds very comfortable and rooms seemed very clean. Bathrooms were a bit dated with only a handheld shower attachment, but were clean and hot water was plentiful. Parking is an issue. We were not made aware of the hotel's own car park and the hotel is on a pedestrianised street so you can not arrive and drive straight up to the front door. We ended up paying for 4 hour parking on a side street 10 minutes walk away, dragging suitcases to the hotel, and then taking the car to an underground 24 hour car park under the old market place. €15 for 24 hours. Not a problem, but would have been good to know where to park from the outset. Didn't eat in the hotel, but saw the dining room laid out for breakfast and it looked inviting, Reception staff were very friendly and all 3 people that we dealt with spoke excellent English. Perfect little hotel for a short stay in Rouen.

Not bad, it is best to add more than tens of dollars to the big room, otherwise the small room is too crowded. There is a kettle, which is very important for the Chinese. From the train station, take the subway to the opera house and turn to the smart track T2T3 to the bridge. It will not be more than ten meters.

This is a long established family business and the pride in that lineage shines out from every pin drop clean corner. So perfectly situated, right next to beautiful pedestrianised Rouen station, this place is very reasonable for what it offers. The staff are super professional, the ambience is calm and professional, the rooms large and very well appointed and, in Covid times, it was so sparkling clean ...worries forgotten, weekend in beautiful Rouen! Bring it on Any more? The bar/restaurant was as calm and professional as the hotel...a GnT with an chilled glass and buckets of ice ...and the late check-out meant a morning sightseeing ...followed by post check out lunch at the nice n easy restaurant round the corner. Yup. All in all just perfect. See you next year ! We will be back.

Right in the middle of historic medieval Rouen - no actual parking on site, but 5 minutes walk from the Palais de Justice Q parking garage (15€ overnight) However, you get a discount from the hotel if you park there - which is also a plus. The hotel is hidden in a quaint courtyard (almost missed it but for my gps map) - but it is beautiful and quirky. Only downside, we were put on the 3rd floor up - no elevator or porter on hand to help us lug our bags us the narrow staircase. Still it was an experience. We didn't eat there, because we were only there one day and wanted to explore the town. Close to the Cathedral and other famous sites - Gros Horologe etc.

I stayed at this hotel for a week recently, with my partner. The hotel is modern, spacious and super-clean. The staff are really friendly and forgiving of our mangling of the French language. Breakfast is standard Holiday Inn Express fare... it fills you up for the start of the day but its nothing special and choices are very limited if you are on a wheat-free diet and don't eat meat! There's a Carrefour Bio just down the road though so I just brought my own GF bread for toasting. The coffee is typical French coffee (read: terrible if you like a good strong, full-bodied Italian espresso!). The rooms are really well sound proofed and apart from one night when a visiting football team decided to have a party in the hallway, we didn't hear a thing, to the point where there were times we wondered if we were the only guests in the hotel (we weren't!). Great for a restful nights sleep. The room was spacious enough to comfortably fit our two huge suitcases and the bathroom was really well thought out. The room was on the hot and stuffy side at night (no ability to put the AC in to cooling mode) and the windows don't open so it was difficult to sleep at times. The hotel is located in a pretty gritty part of Rouen, about 30min walk from the old town. It's about 5 min from a huge Victorian era prison if that sort of thing interests you (it's still in operation). Not too many good restaurants (that we could find in the vicinity). Ample underground parking but we found parking in the city limited so I probably wouldn't stay here if you were keen to explore and absorb the old town. This is a good business travellers hotel more than anything, but I did enjoy staying here, particularly in the depths of winter when it was cold and wet outside and there are a number of spots in lounge/bar/breakfast area to sit and work if you need a quiet spot. The hotel staff are definitely it's best asset!

We booked the top apartment for one night to break our journey at the end of a holiday. A little on the expensive side for one night but it is a fully kitted out apartment that would sleep four, so for a longer stay it would be much better value. The master bed was very comfortable and we had the best night's sleep of the holiday. The other sleeping space was declared comfortable by our 16 year old daughter and she would have been happy there for more than one night. Not sure if two adults would manage it for too long though. The one way system has changed and there are road-works nearby. Also, some of the streets have been pedestrianised recently so tempers were rather fraught trying to get to the place. Instructions or guidance from the owner could have been much better. The one obvious downside was that there were no dishtowels. I had to go out and by some kitchen roll as the dishwasher hadn't got the glasses completely clean and I wanted to wash them before we used them. Also, the coffee machine didn't seem to work properly. That was fine because we know Rouen well and I simply popped out to the Super U that's at the other side of the Place du Vieux-Marche. A real bonus is that it is literally a few steps away from our favourite pizza place 'Chez Pepe et Fils'. Been going there for years. To be fair, I need to comment on the steepness and narrowness of the stairs - one person and one bag at a time, and hold on to the rope! Not for the faint-hearted. The risers on the stairs from the family area to the main bedroom were larger than usual so the pitch was nearer 45%. Also, the toilet/shower-room is by the entrance door, so if you want to pay a visit in the middle of the night, you need to go down two flights of stairs and back up again.

This hotel is very near the centre, and it's price at the lower end of hotels in the area. I found the staff very pleasant and helpful. I opted for buffet breakfast, and thought it was pretty good, with ingredients fresh and good bread. The bed was clean and comfortable. For a hotel on a busy'ish road I thought the soundproofing worked well and the noise level low and acceptable. That's the good news. The decor was very dark, and made the place feel a bit depressing. My room felt small and cramped. I could walk around the bed, but that was it. With some cracked tiles in the bathroom, some lights not working and ripped veneer on the bathroom unit it just felt a bit tatty and unloved. Given it's price, it wasn't that bad and ok for a short stay. I would probably stay again if it was only a night or 2, though not in the summer,as no air con.

Where do I even start? Let's start with the positives. It's in the city center. That's it. I was on a business trip with a colleague. we booked two double rooms, for single use. he got one on the ground floor, I was 2 floors up. The stairs are mostly in bad shape and as you climb them you are welcomed by an assortment of smells, as if every bit of the hotel had been cleaned with a differently flavoured cleaning product..except they collectively failed to hide a smell of decay and mould. the room is very basic, but that's ok for the price. the bathroom.. I've used roomier airplane bathrooms. The shower has a steep step up and no light. The shower head support was broken so I had to use the shower holding it up with one hand, There was no soap in the soap dispenser, and the soap rack was rusty. next to the main mirror, a metal bracket supposed to be holding a second mirror (a shaving mirror), was lacking said mirror. Breakfast constitutes of a choice between orange juice or coffee (not both), a few slices of sweet bread with one pot of marmalade to be shared with other customers. Said breakfast is consumed in the corridor that constitutes the lobby of the hotel, sitting at cramped tiny tables, the bread basked resting on top of the radiator, for lack of room otherwise. you get one paper placemat to share between two people. All of this, with a tiny dog roaming the room, begging for scraps... which is cute when you think it belongs to one of the customers. Then the owner of the establishment starts magnifying the aesthetic qualities of her dog, and telling you "they are like circus dogs"... to which she proceeds to produce a second tiny dog, which she has climbing on her shoulders and around her head. Finally, she opens the door to one more dog, a mammoth that would scare most people who are not comfortable around dogs (not my case, but still). Did I mention she had one of the dogs placed on one of the breakfast tables, which I suppose violates half the hygiene codes in existence? I see in the comments that the WIFI didn't work during the stay of other customers. It has not been repaired as of yesterday. My colleague's room TV didn't work either. Final note: the rooms are not provided with pillowcases. the pillows are wrapped in one end of the bottom linnen, which results in me sleeping half the night directly on the bare mattress. DO NOT STAY HERE. all of this could be somewhat excused if this was clear from the get go. THIS HOTEL HAS A RATING OF 8/10 ON BOOKING.COM. it is therefore very clear that the management has been doctoring the rating either by paying money or by leaving fake positive reviews. almost all negative reviews hold horror stories like mine.. the positive ones are very sparse and I am pretty sure, fake.
