This hotel was set because it was close to James McGrady University, but in fact he was not close to the dormitory of the university and walked for nearly half an hour. In addition, it was simpler earlier. There was basically nothing to eat except for waffles. .

I stayed at the this hotel and had high hopes for it, as Marriot properties are usually on point...however that was not the case at this establishment. Overall the hotel's room accommodations were pretty nice, but the hotel failed miserably at providing a descent breakfast experience. I had selected this hotel instead of some of the much more cost effective hotels in the area...just because I knew that Marriot usually provided a clean eating environment and tasty fresh food options; however, this hotels breads were stale and my English muffin totally crumbled and fell apart when trying to split it. I thought, its probably only that one or the English muffins, so I got a bagel and that did the same thing. At this point I got a regular muffin and it was stale. The hot options were sp****...powdered watery scrambled eggs and mystery meat sausage patties were not appetizing at all! All the food options were subpar for Marriot and the coffee had an acrid burnt taste that no amount of cream and sugar could fix. On top of all of this, they did not take cleanliness seriously. I mean the food areas were not dirty, but the fact that almost all of the items that should of had tongs or gloves to get items had none. I recall only the sausage patties and eggs had tongs and big serving spoons. The rest of the stuff I had to get a plastic fork to try to get and some guest before and after me didn't even try to use the plastic utensils, they used their hands...gross, but they didn't have a lot of options beside they flimsy plasticware. Overall I was very disappointed and hungry because I ended up not eating one day and spending a small fortune at a small local breakfast spot the next day. The day I checked out and ate elsewhere the food was very good and I wasn't hangry because I couldn't eat. I don't expect a hotel to have restaurant quality food...but have clean, fresh and decent food with selection for the premium price that you charge your guest. I have stayed in many hotels: Embassy Suites, Hilton properties, Marriot properties and IHG properties...but sadly, this was the worst experience that I have had with a Marriot property!

About what you'd expect for a lower end hotel, but beware - it's nowhere near the expectations of the high quality reviews shown here, which is why we booked this particular one. The service was by far the worst I've ever experienced at a hotel. I've stayed at hotels half the price of this one in Harrisonburg and gotten significantly better service. We arrived late at night after most guest have already checked in. No one was at the front counter when we walked in - a little odd since nothing would be taking place that late, but okay, maybe they're in the back for a minute or doing a nightly check. We waited a bit, no one showed up. Keep in mind there's no bell or notification service. I try calling the hotel, which rang and rang to the front lobby phone with no answer. We knocked on the staff door, still no answer. We walked around the halls and still didn't see anyone. 2 more phone calls, still no answer. We ended up waiting 20+ minutes just to see a staff member, the only way to get their attention was to bang on the door with my fists to which they came stumbling out. I don't know if they were sleeping or what, but it was ridiculous that calling and knocking multiple times no one answered when nothing was going on. If a guest needed to call the front desk, good luck, they're not answering you. When we finally got checked in, we went to the room. A major topic of reviews was good ”cleanliness” - it was anything but. Hair covered the shower, toilet, towels, and sink, and a mystery substance was on the bottom of the shower. The room had a weird odor to it, and the fan of the A/C was loud and rattled. Look, I know this is a one-off experience, and you pay for what you get, but $150 should go further for a hotel than the complete lackluster service and profound uncleanliness experienced here. I see this isn't the first bad review in regards to service at the front desk. Management, take notice. Patrons, avoid at all costs.

I stayed at this hotel several years ago when it was a Comfort Inn. Some things have changed, some things remain the same. The room was clean and quiet and plenty of towels were provided in the bathroom. I know there's an effort to save money by not providing maid service daily. I'm okay with using the same towel a couple of times and I don't care that the sheets aren't changed, but at the cost of the room I think at the very least the bed should be tidied up and the trash emptied every day. The sign in the room indicated maid service was provided on the 3rd night. The trash was emptied after the 2nd night but at that point it was kind of silly since I was leaving the next morning. The room no longer had a coffee maker but I was assured there was fresh coffee ”24-hours” in the breakfast area. I have an odd sleep schedule so I did get a cup of coffee at nothing o'clock in the morning but it was lukewarm. Fortunately the room still has a microwave so I was able to heat it up. I did request a ground floor room and that's what I got so I could easily wheel my bicycle into the room. This is something I really appreciate. The breakfast buffet seemed fresh and well stocked. Getting to it is difficult. It's in plain sight from the main highway but unless you know where the little side street is to turn even the gps was confused. And the employee at the front desk was really trying to help me get there but she just wasn't clear in her directions. Overall it was just okay and if I visit Harrisonburg again, and I plan to, I will find someplace else to stay.

There air inside is poor quality, a rare atmosphere, which induced me asthma as soon as I went through the hall to my room. Everything showed evidence of lack of cleaning, from the beds till the bathroom. So, I immediately turned back to the reception turn my key (by the well dirty as well) to guy in the reception. If you have kids/baby/toddlers and you love them, then never go there. I did my reservation through Priceline, and I claimed my money back, but I was not refunded. So, next time, forget Priceline and I will do my job online searching for honest reviews.

Passing by the local university to visit a friend for a temporary stay for one night, looking at the hotel with a high score, it is said that it was the best hotel in the local area a few years ago. Located in the university town, the environment is good, there are many restaurants near the left, and there are many other places in the United States that are very crowded and have to go a few kilometers away from the hotel. It is still very convenient.

Stayed for one night on our way to New York City. We checked in pretty late - check in was smooth and efficient. Front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The room was spacious enough for my husband and me and our two college-age kids. We asked for extra towels when making the reservation and they were in the room when we arrived. All in all, a great stay and we would stay here again without hesitation.

I hate leaving poor reviews. This is a Motel , so expected simple accommodations. The room was simple and clean and if that was the worst of it We would be fine with it. We made our reservation by phone before leaving Canada for our trip back to Florida. The reservation was for January 3. When we arrived we were told that there would be no charge for the room because we had already been charged for a no-show on December 31. I suppose that we should have suspected a problem when we did not receive the email confirmation that we had be promised after the phone call. Not charging us twice for their mistake was big of them. The real problem is that the night we were charged for was New Years eve and the amount charged was higher than the rate we were supposed to be charged. This is a poorly run motel, even by Motel 6 standards. Beware.
