Room was big, clean and quiet, nothing short from our expectations. However, restaurant was inexistent, room service appalling, desk support absent and billing outrageously slow. It took us 4 front desk visits to get our bill printed.... Good just for a stop over at Amritapuri. Ashram.

We had a lovely stay at Munroe drive in island. This new built hotel has comfortable rooms with beatiful hand paintings on the walls. It was very clean and the room had a wounderful view of the lake. The staff was very sweet and helped us with everything we asked for. They also helped our kids with fishing in the lake and picking coconuts in the garden. The hotel can also arrange boat trips and sightseeing by riksha. The restaurant was not completly finished when we were there but we still got lovely food both for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And they make wounderful chai.

We stayed for one night at at the lake view room. This unique property strategically placed with lake on one side and river on the other is like no other on the island. There were hammocks all around the lake side with ducks and the occasional non venomous snake 😀. The food was good we only had vegetarian food so cannot comment on the non veg there was fish on the menu though. With free breakfast and coffee it was good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The canoe ride was very good with Sanjeev as our boat*** who was very friendly too took us through the small canals and to watch the sunrise. In my opinion mornings are better for the canoe rides with a 6 am start. We got back just in time for our breakfast. Apart all this there is also a games room for pool and c***m. Overall the stay was pleasant and for the price it is well worthit.

Kollam, being a tourist place plenty of options are concentrated towards house boats, boat travel. But, for the city stay I suggest Hotel Dona Castle. This travel being a family one, I made quite a bit of search to get a good accommodation, and this one didn't go wrong. Located in the Kottamukku junction, which is away from the busy city center is a nice place to stay. Though we had booked deluxe room, our room got upgraded to super-deluxe one and the amenities are quite nice. Very spacious rooms with dining table and sofa sets. The staff are very professional, the restaurant offers quite a decent and tasty food. In house dining is provided. Complimentary breakfast was provided with a single dish, to choose from ale-carte menu; that's fine still. Located about 2 to 2.5 km from Kollam beach and is accessible by auto-rickshaws near by. Overall a nice experience in this facility. Value for Money. Thanks for hosting us. Keep up the good job guys!.

The marvellous location on Lake Ashtamudi, the beautiful building open to nature, the lovely rooms and the staff for whom nothing is too much trouble, make this a wonderful place to be. The food is excellent and chef Govind looked after us so well, cooking delicious local fish delicacies and a crab bisque to remember. Shushmita and Debadasi in the restaurant provided efficient and charming service. Our housekeeper Shyni left our room impeccably clean and tidy every day. The hotel was busy with various events but it was always calm and peaceful in the evening and at night. Sitting by the pool to read and watch the water birds was a delight. This was our fourth stay at the Raviz and we plan to be back again next year. Thank you to everyone who made our stay such a pleasure.

We stayed in a lakeview villa which was quite spacious and comfortable. All modern amenities were present. Ayurveda, spa, pool and drinks were unavailable due to covid restrictions but the greenery and peace and quiet more than made up for these. Complimentary breakfast was ala carte due to limited staff, even so everything we requested for was provided and the food was quite yummy too. The fact that the resort is so well maintained in the current pandemic situation is really commendable. All nature lovers who want to enjoy a quiet break should definitely visit this resort, you won't be disappointed.

Thangasseri or Tangy as it was earlier known among the local English speaking population is a small hamlet famous for its schools and the Anglo-Indian culture. Now that most of the Anglo Indians have migrated to other countries, the place has has been spruced up for tourists with the lighthouse as the main attraction, not to mention the remnants of the old fort, the sea-facing front of which is now landscaped for those who want to hang out for leisure. Besides, there is also a fishing harbour that has come up displacing a number of families which appear to have been re-settled around the lighthouse in the place where there was once a coconut grove and a graveyard of the Dutch, Portuguese and British. I say, this because I was visiting this place after 50 years of passing out the Infant Jesus AI School. There never was a hotel in this area then nor was it a tourist spot, though there were inquisitive visitors once in a while just to peep into the culture of this secluded hamlet. The building appears to be an old bungalow that has been converted into a hotel. The rooms are neat and spacious with modern amenities. A good three-star facility, though the price seems a bit high.

Check in was smooth - If self driven one needs to check for opposite vehicles to reach main road or else might land up in loosing time to get to the main road. The road is narrow. Even though booked through an online travel agent and got confirmation with number of persons, was asked for extra INR 500 at check in and was really surprising. Since I had paid online while booking ( which was a mistake in this booking) didn't want to argue on this extra amount and just paid it. Rooms and linen were clean. Didn't try any meals since there are lots of options close by - within a km around. Overall a pleasant stay.

The Nani Hotel is located within easy walking of the Railway Station, and welcomes travellers around the clock. The only minor quibble I would have is the rather meagre offerings by the way of equipment in the 'fitness centre' -- it's some way off being a true centre of fitness, alas. Apart from that, the rooms, staff, and dining options are top-notch, and it presents great value overall.

The Taj Malabar is a beautiful hotel in Willingdon Island, Cochin. The property has a beautiful pool and gym overlooking the backwaters. There are several restaurants and a lobby bar serving delectable cuisines. The breakfast spread is spectacular with a generous dose of local cuisine, the quality of the food was very good. The lobby bar is great to spend time in the evening before heading to one of the restaurants for dinner. The bartender takes special care to customise cocktails as per our tastes. All in al superb stay, only downside is that the room is too small. And definitely uncomfortable for 3 people (2+1 kid). The Jiva spa treatments were very good too, although slightly pricey give the time of the treatment. The complementary evening tea and the boat ride of the backwaters were definitely a treat and great for kids too!

The hotel is clean and very pkeasant. Rooms are large ckean and very comfirtable bed. The staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing is a trouble. We had dinner in their seafood restaurant and boy was that a good choice. A big thankyou to Sheetal and Byju. Their help with choosing dinner. Sheetal helped us with our entrees omg the tempura prawns cooked to perfection and the squid cooked in spices never have we enjoyed squid so much... Byju helped us with main course. We picked our fresh fish and Byju suggest half the fish cut a fillet done in local spice, which he said we wont taste anywhere else and the rest of the fish done in a ***go curry. We had a taste sensation we did not expect. Absolutely amazing. Thank you again for such a wonderful meal and evening. It will be hard to beat this experience And this is just day 1 of our holiday in India what a great start.

Though we reached the hotel after 10:30, they provided us with breakfast and rooms. Rooms were lovely. Mine was noisy because it faced the port but I was glad to have a balcony and the view. Hotel has an inner courtyard with lots of light. The rooftop swimming pool was a fabulous break from the heat of the day. We had an afternoon swim followed by chai provided from a cart as a treat. Dinner, also al fresco on the rooftop was delicious. Best of all, there was beautiful live music: drummer and flute. The staff at this hotel was particularly sweet.

What a joy it was to stay 2 nights at this wonderful hotel. Our group arrived a few hours earlier than anticipated, yet we were warmly welcomed and ushered into the dining room to enjoy a hearty breakfast. Not long after we were shown to our rooms - or in our case a suite. Upon opening the door, we entered into a spacious lounge room complete with a 3 seater couch, 2 armchairs, mini bar, desk and TV. Such a perfect place to watch a movie, do emails and simply relax. Down a short hallway, with the bathroom on the left and a large wardrobe to the right a well sized bedroom can be found. The bright room with large corner windows, a dressing table and further television was a cosy cocoon for a good night's sleep. This hotel provides everything a traveller could need: safe, hairdryer, fast stable WiFi and an iron & ironing board. Located on a main road with rail transport just metres away, and the beach promenade a couple of blocks away. The large dining room served up some good food, although the service was a bit patchy. All in all, a very comfortable stay was enjoyed.

This was our third time at Brunton Boatyard hotel and the hotel didn’t disappoint. It’s excellent location (the best, I feel, in Fort Kochi), old colonial charm and service is what draws us to the hotel every few years. The hotel is located in Cochin’s Fort Kochi area. This part of the city is its oldest and therefore most charming. Brunton Boatyard is situated right next to the ferry terminal and on the water’s edge. Rooms are larger than the average hotel rooms (in the general category) in India. And the balcony adds to the charm. I can sit by the window or on my balcony and watch ships pass by. They look so close that you feel you could almost stretch your arm out and touch them. The ferry terminal right next to the building can be a bit noisy if you are obsessed about peace and quiet. But trust me, I too felt the same when I had stayed at the hotel ***y years ago for the first time. But then I got used to it. And now, I actually love all the boat life around the hotel. It gives you a harbor proximity feeling and I like that about Brunton Boatyard. Water views can be very soothing and ro***tic. Food is lovely, though expensive. I would recommend you eat breakfast here and then for lunch and dinner, try the ***y outside places in Fort Kochi. There are ***y quaint cafes and restaurants nearby that’ll be easy on the pocket and great food. Brunton has three restaurants; the Armory at the ground floor that serves breakfast, lunch and then light snacks in the evening. The ‘Terrace’ and ‘History’ restaurant upstairs are only open for dinner and require prior reservation. We tried one of the restaurants for dinner; don’t remember which one. But it was a fish specialty, had an outdoor seating and was excellent. Service at Armory during breakfast was very slow. Plus we had to specially ask for Jam and cheese; it wasn’t always there on the table. There is no buffet; it’s a-la-carte. But the staff is very sweet and cordial. Rooms are excellent and nicely maintained. Bathrooms are large and well-fitted. Wine (Indian) in the rooms’ fridge was very over-priced. Housekeeping is done twice. But the evening round happens too early; around 4:30 pm when some of us are taking our afternoon nap. The evening service should happen around 7 pm. The whole property is large and spacious. Staff is excellent, well-trained, always smiling and polite. They take care of your every need. Every day they have a complimentary Hi-Tea at the pool, overlooking the backwaters, followed by a sunset cruise on the hotel’s private boat. That’s a great touch by the hotel. Also, I got some office work when I was there on a Sunday and I had to use the hotel’s computer for about 4 hours. They did not charge me for that. Thank you so much for helping me. Excellent hotel that has preserved Kochi’s history and heritage and I will highly recommend this to all. Go to Brunton Boatyard atleast once in your life. I look forward to my next visit there.

This is the most disgusting hotel I have stayed in. You are greeted with the smell of mould before you reach the front door. As you move into property the lights in the corridor do not work (there are no windows so is dark during the day). This is to hide the mould on the walls. Once you get into your room the smell is over powering. The once white sheets are a shade of brown and the room is generally grimy. I accidently ripped through the middle of the double bed sheet (as the 'double' is two single mattresses) to discover lots of other people's hair. The bathroom is foul, mould everywhere. What was clearly once a very nice hotel is now a mouldy cess pit.
