Spent here two nights on a business trip. We came to Tampere by train and as our meetings were held near the railway station, the location of the hotel seemed a bit off at first. It’s walkable from the station, and the walk from the station to the hotel is pretty enjoyable (at least via Kehräsaari). On the other direction Sokos on Hämeentie is actually pretty close. You could tell this used to be a Cumulus hotel before the merge, but the rooms are renovated (so don’t get horrified by those bright blue textiles some photos here have). I liked the bathroom. The room had twin beds. Breakfast was basic Scandic. All Scandics seem to have some specialty on their breakfast and this hotel had mustamakkara and talkkuna. Didn’t try, though. To me their breakfast was a bit boring, I had all the things I always eat at Scandic and that’s it. Even though the location felt a bit off at first, I actually liked it and it made me see new places at Tampere and that’s why I’m giving 4 stars and not three. Very basic, but nothing wrong either. TLDR: Renovated rooms, photos with darker interior design are up to date. You can tell this used to be a Cumulus, but pretty basic Scandic nowadays.

Pros: Excellent location, at walking distance from the train station, city center, super market and shops. Restaurant/bar next door (Inez) gives 10% discount to apartment guests. I was not charged for key delivery even if I arrived after the reception closed. Cons: Wifi signal was weak and some times connection broke. Temperature inside the apartment was a bit high to me, especially for sleeping at night.

Room is really compact, for family, it is very small. Just enough for a very short stay. No possibility to open windows or adjust room temperature, may get claustrophobic. Get the room codes beforehand, as there is no reception.

What a wonderfull hotel in Tampere Finland. The 1930 style are renowned very carefully .Details are important here. All was good details, room, bed supper in Bistro of their own and breakfast. Morning porridge with cardemum twist was an excellent idea of

We have stayed at Scandic City four times during Covid19 and the staff were so good, there have been different rules about the breakfast etc, but always worked well. The rooms are very clean, it is worth to pay extra for Superior Rooms, Room 761 has a great view over Tampere and the room is big with lovely armchairs to relax. Arttu at the frontdesk is a great guy, nothing is too much to arrange. We will be back.

Very well located new hotel next to Tampere railwatstation and close to the city centre. Great views from the upper floors and I also liked the decoration of the room, except the artwork they are selling in the room. Breakfast was tasty, but got crowded after 9, so good that we went early. Few drawbacks we had. We stayed in the room 1414, great views towards the city, but the lifts were behind the door, so you hears them going up and down all the time. So if you can, avoid room 14’s if you are a light sleeper. Also when there’s a double bed, double bedding would be a better option than two separate small blankets. The bathroom smelled like drain. When we took the bath and let the water out, all the water came out from the drain to the floor and we had to block it with towels to get to the room. That was on the morning when we were leaving, so we didn’t immidiately complain about it, but Wetold this to front desk on check out. It was compensated and we were very happy how the staff handled the issue. Overall we liked the hotel, but with these few drawbacks I cannot give 5 stars although the hotel has everything to be a five star hotel.

The rooms very very clean and had a warm welcome feeling (woolen blanket, rocking chair, lamb etc.). The personnel at the reception were most friendly and helpful. It was also great that you were able to go to Torni hotel (opposite of this hotel) for breakfast or dinner, if you wanted. Great location.

Courtyard Tampere is the first Marriott hotel in a "small" city in the whole Scandinavia. The other Marriott locations are Stockholm (11), Copenhagen (4) and Helsinki (4). Hotel was opened in January and everything was still new and shining in mid-July. The rooms are on two sides of a narrow 11-floor building and you have views either to the city in the West or to woods in the East. We had the latter. No matter whether you are low or high (we were on the 8th) - you see always woods, a street and the parking lot. The room offered just enough space for two. It was clean and silent and the blackout curtain made it dark to sleep. This is very important in the Northern summer when the sun is shining even in the night. The 55" TV screen is too wide! The adjustment of the temperature did not work: we set it in 19 and it gave 23 degrees. There was a facility to make coffee or tea. The system was built in a cupboard that was difficult to use and the steam from boiling water flew out. The coffee was based on Nescafe Cupsolo that is not a "green" solution because it makes extra rubbish: a small tough plastic cup and a thick aluminium cover which cannot be separated from each other except "with my little fingers". A very long minus! Ordinary "nescafe" mixed with boiled water is better. And cheaper, too! We paid with Marriott Bonvoy points: 12500 points was the only alternative and it did not include breakfast. At least in these kind mid-price hotels in Scandinavia breakfast is normally included in the room price. Another minus. The third minus is the expensive outdoor parking. We had to leave the car in a public street about 500 meters from the hotel. However, we had been travelling and taking part in a funeral and were tired of the day. This was a good place to overnight with deep sleep. Good for us! Extra bonus for the hotel is the neighboring Tampere House with its concert hall and the world's only Moomin museum. Neighboring Sorsapuisto park is nice for short walks. Last but not least: the personnel in the reception were very polite and helping - a big plus. Real "VIP"s to the company!

We travelled to Tampere for two days and stayed at Mango hotel. The hotel is a little bit far from the city centre but connectivity is good by bus. It is best to pick a bicycle in Tampere for roaming around the city. The hotel is nice, rooms are clean and the breakfast options are good. For the price, the hotel is offering pretty good services. Would recommend this place.

Clean rooms, has the basic necessities, I just wish there was free coffee in the rooms considering the amount that we paid. Great breakfast selection, friendly staff. Dinner was quite busy and the waitering side was understaffed. Service time took some time. Nice pool area. The location of the hotel was also nice, there are a nature trails and the lake is close.

Not as easy to get to as it first appeared - nearby motorway is easy to get on to but a bit more convoluted to get from it to the hotel, so if you’re driving make sure you know the route. If coming from the south just come off the motorway from Turku / Hameenlinna and keep going straight. Easy, free car parking, and petrol station next door. Very friendly, but reception closes around 6pm. 15 minutes or so to walk into town. A few restaurants about 5 minutes walk away. Nice big room, with fridge, microwave, iron and coffee, though this was an upgrade from the basic booking. Very comfortable bed. Good blackout curtains to help sleep (probably the best of my whole trip) Good sauna and pool – evening only, though pool can be accessed at other times on request. Very good breakfast - don't miss the blood sausage, exactly like a good British black pudding.

I cannot imagine a better hotel to prepare for a major operation.Quiet and comfortable with excellent snacks available, served with a style to reprove that one doesn't need to travel further to get the best service. Sorry for making compliments even while they are due!

I was staying for two nights with my daughter on the hotel side. With very high expectations especially for the service - as they advertise on their website the best service on the world and they understand the needs of travelling families. Honestly, I would like to like this place more, as you can still see some hints of the idea of the founders. Unfortunately the service we got was below average - not really bad, but not good either. Certainly not what advertised! We had double room for two, and it was really small. The bed is appr 140 cm or even less, so this information I would expect to find from the room description (for hotel double bed I would expect min 160 cm). The room was also very very small, of course the other areas (kitchen, lobby etc) was compensating it a bit. Unfortunately these areas were not cleaned even once a day, so they were bit untidy. It’s nice idea that guests will vlean after themselves, but not really working in total. Also there would be room to improve the cleaning of the rooms - there were plenty of dust and sand in every place, where possible. With proper housekeeping and more thorough cleaning would give a small facelift for the hotel rooms.
