Wakkanai
|0.58km from city centerLooking at the old, but in the relatively remote town of Wakkanai, it is quite good, the basic facilities are complete, and the style bathrobe. It is not far from the Wakkanai Station, and it is about 700 meters walk. The nearby convenience store may have to go to Senkomato in Wakkanai Station. After all, things are still there. Overall, there is no one at the front desk. I can only go to the service staff for help. I recommend using Japanese.

|0.46km from city centerStayed in a twin room. The room key is not auto lock, so you need to be careful not to forget to lock the lock. The room is large. It is also good that the air cleaner is in the room. It was on the 5th floor, but when I stayed, the next building was under construction, so there was a little construction sound. The building is old, the window frame is rusted, and the toilet paper holder is repaired with a wide tape of transparency. It may be not possible to do it because the price is still cheap in Wakkanai, but I think it is better to make a little more repair. And the window is large, but unexpectedly the window opens big to the outside. If you stay with a child, I think you should be careful not to fall from the window that is too big. It is rare because there are many windows that are not open very recently, but it is a little scary. I was also worried that there was a little difference between the bathroom toilet and the room. I feel like I'm going to step off my feet when I'm disappointed. Isn't it suitable for older people? ? And, it's not a room, but I think it's easy to use that there's a microwave when you get off the elevator. The payment method can be used in various ways such as credit cards and paypay.

|1.84km from city centerThis is a smoking hotel through and through. I am a smoker but even I felt it was a bit too much. For smokers who love to puff in the lobby, in the room and everywhere else, this is the place for you! I cancelled our 3 nights reservation the moment we checked into the room. Not because of the smokes but because the room is so dated and so cramped with a window that looked onto the air conditioning outdoor equipment ledge. The bathroom is absolutely tiny, worse than space constraint Tokyo! The feeling of the room is just yuck! Luckily the guy at the reception was kind enough to allow cancellation of the next two nights, we just had to stay the one night which was barely bearable. For a budget motel suited for travelling salesmen, the price is ridiculously high.

|2.51km from city centerThere is a free curry service for dinner from Monday to Thursday. Lucky to hear this story on Monday's stay. The staff was polite in the dining room, and curry was also more satisfying than I imagined. The hot spring was also pleasant. The parking lot is in front of the hotel and there is a large parking lot behind it, so you can rest assured.

|2.24km from city centerThe interior is very new, as it seems to have undergone major renovations in recent years. Very clean and comfortable. There are many sockets and there is a USB charging terminal at the head of the bed for convenience. Although it is a single booking, it has been upgraded to two single beds for the convenience of room allocation. Because this is a busy season, an extra bed was added and turned into three single beds. This is a breakfast plan only, the buffet has a lot of delicious local mother’s homemade breakfast, the queue is good, but the taste is delicious, but the dishes are flaky plastic, tongs are not easy to use, cheap vegetables, raw vegetables and sashimi I don’t know why almost All fried foods are kept at room temperature. Only a small part is warm, but cold things are cold and warm things are warm. I think hand-made handwork can be used more and more.

Wakkanai
|0.97km from city centerIt feels like an old-fashioned inn, but the rooms, toilets, and baths seem to have been renovated and are clean and easy to use. Especially, the bath is 24 hours a day and the bathtub is large. However, since you can enter by locking one by one, you have to see the timing. Supper was a simple course, but it's enough. Ordinary women may not be able to eat it. Even if you have crab or octopus shabu-shabu on this, you may not be able to eat it unless you are a young athletic club. The rice is also delicious. Cold sake is Otokoyama limited to Wakkanai. This can be drunk like water. The room does not have air conditioning, but the temperature drops at night so you can sleep enough. The parking lot has no roof, so the bike may be tight on a rainy day

|0.33km from city centerThis was a last minute booking as I cancelled the booking for another hotel by mistake and did not realise until I was at the other hotel itself.
Dormy Inn is very convenient, less than 8 minutes to JR Wakkanai.
The rooms are quite small and sp****ly furnished but still comfortable for our family.
Enough power plugs all over the room but no UDB charging points so remember to bring your travel adapters.
What the room lacks in amenities, the facilities more than make up for it.
There is FREE ramen every night from 9.30pm at the hotel restaurant, so we simply bought a some food from the seica mart at JR wakkanai and eat before the restaurant opens at night.
On top of this, there is of course the roof top onsen. We like in particular the outdoor part of the onsen where you can enjoy the snow falling onto you while you soak in the pool.
After the onsen bath you can help yourself to the free ice cream outside the men's and ladies' onsen.
There is also a small manga library between these 2 onsens too.
We loved our stay here and will be glad to stay here again if we go to wakkanai again.

Wakkanai
|0.59km from city centerSpent two days at the Surfeel Hotel, Wakkanai in early February 23. It is a short walk from Wakkanai rail station and well placed to reach most of the town easily on foot. Well I say easily, the snow was incredibly high in the streets and sidewalks so obviously the right clothing and footwear is essential! We had a lovely room overlooking the sea with a big picture window. We could spend hours watching the changing conditions which moved through heavy snow to sunshine back to snow in minutes throughout most of our stay. The old infrastructure from submarine pens has now gone but the covered archway stretches out to form one side of the harbour just beyond the hotel. We ate out in town both nights we were in Wakkanai - not a reflection on the hotel offering but just part of our normal routine to explore and experience other things. We did try and get a drink one night in the rooftop bar but found it closed for the season. We managed to get a couple of beers in the restaurant on the ground floor but they kicked us out at 9pm as they were closing! That said staff throughout the hotel were charming and helpful as ever. Breakfast was pretty good. The offering was dominated by Japanese specialities as you would more than expect with limited western alternatives but the croissant, coffee and eggs were all good. We tried a variety of Japanese dishes and they were pretty good as well. The temperature in the restaurant was about 30C and just felt unhealthy. We were the only people in there but the Japanese obsession with anti-COVID measures is very tiresome and masks were required as were gloves whilst getting your food on a tray from the buffet. At least we didn’t have a pathetic little plastic screen placed between us like we did at our hotel in Sapporo! We knew the Japanese would be masked up - they often were even before COVID - but come on, time and life have moved on! All-in-all a very good hotel and option for stay in Wakkanai especially with a sea-view room on a higher floor. Well done Surfeel Hotel and thank you.

|0.3km from city centerA hotel in front of Wakkanai Station. There are many restaurants and convenience stores in the surrounding area, and the breakwater dome and Wakkanai Park are within easy walking distance, so the location is very good.
I live in a shared room with bunk beds. The shower is free, and you can drink tea, coffee and miso soup for free. You can also eat and drink in public spaces.
This is a stylish space with a clean and calm feeling.
I think the price of bunk beds in shared rooms is a bit high, but I was very relaxed during my stay.
