Drinks (coffee, juice) were served at the lobby lounge before check-in. There are many beautiful pots, paintings, statues of Daikoku, photographs, etc. in the hall, and you will not get tired even if you walk around the hall. The room was an ordinary rectangular Japanese-style room because my spouse had reserved a room for some reason. The sweets in the room are Kurisuke, a Japanese confectionery directly managed by Wado, and delicious chestnut buns. The hot spring in the bath is a good hot spring (mineral spring) that smells of sulfur. It is said that the local people used this mineral spring for eye drops and cuts, and it was written in the Fudoki edited by the Edo Shogunate that it was the oldest hot spring in Chichibu, Yakushi-no-Yu. Dinner was served in the room. The local sake (nigori) was reasonably priced at 1100 yen for 300cc. Dinner was a variety of dishes using local Chichibu local cuisine and local products. The amount and number of items were so large that I could not finish eating them. I thought it would be good for young people and people who eat a lot (three kinds of meat dishes). Breakfast was a Japanese set menu. The side dishes were good, but the rice was hard and not good. Coffee, milk, etc., natto, yogurt, etc. were buffet style. After-meal coffee could be taken out to the room. I felt that the hospitality was also good.

Following last fall, I visited again with my wife and was very satisfied this time as well. Chichibu's inn has a lot of narrow locations in the valley, but it is located on a blank plateau where the early summer breeze blows through, and the mountains of Higashi Chichibu spread out in front of you from the hot springs. From the small hill behind the hotel, you can overlook the Chichibu Basin. I felt that the hall was clean and quiet, and the virus countermeasures were taken properly. The meal was rich in wild plants and local vegetables, and especially the soaking of itadori (Scanpo) and tempura was the first time, but it was very delicious. In addition, I enjoyed freshly picked ingredients such as bamboo shoots, yomogi, and tadpoles leaves. The meal that enjoys the blessings of nature in this way is really good. Actually, this time it was a plan for the ”Poppy Festival in the Sky” scheduled nearby. Just before that, a notice of unauthorization of the use of the parking lot came from Saitama Prefecture, and the festival was canceled, and it was a very sorry situation for the locals 々 who were prepared with all their hearts. Thanks to the hotel's accurate alternative measures, there was no major hindrance to our trip. On the first day, we stayed from Wado Kurodani Station beyond Mt. Bino (Mt. Bino), and the next day, we had them sent to the place where the ”Poppy Festival in the Sky” was scheduled. While looking at the bright red poppy from the road outside the venue, I walked with the porridge Nitta Pass and Mt. Ogiri, descended to the peak, and enjoyed the green early summer mountains.

I made a reservation for a trip to Chichibu with my family of seven. I made a mistake when making the reservation and chose BBQ for dinner, but it turned out to be the right choice. It's conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Kami-Nagatoro Station, but when I was checking the train schedule in the lobby after checking out the next day, a hotel staff member called out to me and offered to drive me to Nagatoro Station...In the end, he took me to the ropeway of Mt. Hodo. The facilities were old, but it was a very nice inn.

The facilities were luxurious because of the golf main, but the outside of the veranda was a high wall and the scenery was not visible. Cost-effective and recommended. There are many stories that the annex is not good for any word of mouth. Recently, only the interior has been renovated and it is a beautiful room. How much is the movement of the connecting passage? Actually it is a slope. It is about 100m to the entrance of the annex. Plus there is a path to the room. The main building costs at least 10,000 yen for two people. I was thinking about it because it was the summer high season price, but I was able to stay at the main building at about half the price because I was able to use the prefectural discount and the coupon from the reservation site. The Japanese-style room in the main building has the specifications of an ordinary hot spring hotel in the old days. The hotel itself is located on a hill overlooking the city of Chichibu. There are rooms with open-air baths, but they are boiled water, so I didn't feel the charm as a hot spring lover. The large communal bath is small for the number of people in the carrying hot water from both gods. High season is always people, people... For meals, you can choose a kaiseki course, but the buffet is the main one, and I think that's enough. As the name of the farm hotel suggests, it is a healthy menu centered on vegetables. There were roast beef, tandoori chicken, pork ribs, sashimi, etc., but I felt unsatisfactory considering the original price. The concept is that the vegetables come from the attached field, but not all of them. Said the feeling. Depending on the season, most of the fruits were imported. Staff are very polite. Since it is summer vacation, there are many families even on weekdays. There seems to be a good sense of the person who guides the restaurant seats, but there is a high probability that families with children and three generations will be seated with a good view. This time, I was able to stay at an exceptional price, so I have no complaints.

I stayed at the GOTO use from the travel site. I could only book smoking, but I asked you to park the car before check-in on the day, and if you told me what you wanted if there was a non-smoking room, you can change it to a non-smoking room in the corner room . There is a machine at the front desk where Dotol coffee can be freely drunk. The room was old but the cleaning was well done and it was beautiful to the tank of the air humidifier. The unfortunate thing is the air conditioner in the breakfast venue. I didn't expect the content of the meal because it was free, but there were minimal items in the Japanese style. There is so much to like about this place. We stayed in the newer separate building called Hanamizuki, just down the road from the old main building. The building is great, very well-kept and tastefully furnished, and very comfortable and unpretentious. The staff are all very friendly, polite and helpful; great service overall. We took our toddler and the staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful with her. The room we stayed in is pretty typical, which means a very clean and spacious Japanese room, with the bed being two comfortable mattresses on a low platform. Lots of floor space for kids to play. The room opens out onto an open-air balcony which contains a shower and your very own private bath, looking out over a forest. Very happy with the room, and the private bath was awesome. Dinner is served in your own private space in the dining area. Pork shabu shabu was top quality and there was plenty to eat as it was served with excellent sashimi and other good food. Breakfast was less impressive but still high-quality and reasonably filling if you don't mind a very Japanese breakfast. Coffee is available on request. Tip: don't pay for any alcohol in the hotel. Sake is free in the shared onsen bath, and you get a free taster set included with dinner. If you want beer or other drinks, walk down to the ”michi no eki” about five minutes down the road and you can buy local beer etc. far cheaper than in the hotel itself. So why three stars? The big problem for us was that smoking was allowed in the balcony/bath areas of each room. Twice during our one-night stay the horrible smell of cigarette smoke came into our room from some other balcony, forcing us to close the door and making our own balcony unusable for that time. The single best thing they can do is to make a smoking room somewhere on the site and make all the rooms and balconies entirely smoke free. 全部の部屋を禁煙して欲しい。 Other than that, it was just a couple of little things. If you are arriving and leaving by train, for example, your check in and check out times will be dictated by the train timetable. We wanted to stay right up until 11am but we had to check out at 10am in order to be taken to the train. Additionally, the location is OK but not great. There's very little in the immediate area, so might not be a good ”base” for sightseeing. Most people are there for the comfort and pleasure of the hotel itself it seems. Finally, you are given some ”free” souvenir gifts as you checkout. Both the ones we got were relatively low-quality and not what we would have chosen, and we basically felt like it was something extra to carry when we already had lots of luggage. Advice to the management: cut the free omiyage and reduce the price by 1000 yen a night. So, for some kinds of people this will be a five star, and great value for that as well. On the other hand, if the smell of cigarette smoke is a deal-breaker for you, I can't recommend you stay here at all, so three stars it is.
