Beautifully situated hotel, right on the quayside on Bryggen. 4 star historic hote6, beautifully decorated. Stayef6in room 505. Small but well appointed room with quality soap, shampoo, conditioner from Rituals, ironing board, iron, kettle, safe, soft quality towels and bed linen. Comfortable double bed with double duvet. Wide window sills, perfect for enjoying the view over Vågen. Tv, chair, desk, minibar. Gorgeous view of the sea from both bedroom and bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Good breakfast with several hot dishes. Complimentary evening meal and afternoon snack. Small gym (rowing machine, step machine, exercise bike, weights). This sounds great. And it was. But what really makes this a 5 star place is the staff. Absolutely amazing! Extremely helpful, nice and nothing is too much trouble. A special "thank you" to Ibrahim and Kristine in reception. Their kindness and helpfulness was undoubtably the most amazing ever. Ibrahim even walked me to the bus stop to make sure I got on the right bus and got a ticket. And Kristine showed much appreciated compassion when I was off to a funeral. She offered her sincere condolences and offered a hug. Which was exactly what I needed. Hopefully I will get a chance to return home to Clarion Havnekontoret! PS: Remember to ask for the key to the tower. The view is out of this world! And do walk the stairs. Lots if interesting information about Bergen in the stairwell.

Since we were flying early in the morning, breakfast has not yet started, but the hotel prepared breakfast bags very thoughtfully. Sandwiches, juices and nuts are nutritious and healthy. The hotel is in a good location, right next to Bryggen Wharf, the herringbone house is just outside, and the cable car is very close to the Freien Mountains, which is basically within walking distance.

Very comfortable bed, the room is unique to an American, but the bed was fabulous! Great location to the center of town. We found a nice little bakery around the corner for lunch and very modern shopping close by. We were amazed at the variety of foods offered for breakfast from pancakes to omelets, meats and cheese.

Was greeted by a very nice receptionist when I checked in. He saw that I was a member of their chain and offered me the benefits it provides. Then gave the information I needed and explained the way to the elevator. All with kindness and a big smile. It gave a very good start to a good stay. Asked at check in for room with view and high up. I got it in room 616 which had a balcony. I think most rooms do not have a balcony or that view. So a tip is to ask and if they are available, you will get enough. The room was clean. And that's the most important thing for me. Not very big and the bathroom was even smaller. But it is more than enough for two people visiting this city. Even though the room is clean, it appears to be somewhat worn over time. You can see it on the scraped panel stove, scraper and other things on the walls, the bedding has some smaller holes and is worn (but comfortable to sleep in). When there are better times for the hotel industry, it would not cost much to raise the standard a little. Breakfast has everything you need, but does not appear very exciting. You can see there are some measures taken that raise it from basic, and there is a lot of staff at work. But it's a long way up to the city's best breakfast and there is constantly empty for some products during the breakfast. Then it is important to know that the Comfort hotels at Nordic Choice Hotels are the most affordable. I have often stayed in Quality hotels in the past and the standard is one notch or two up. So for what you pay here for the rooms with breakfast it is very good value! And the very best value here is those who work here. Whether it is night guards, cleaners or others. There are always positive answers if you want something. And accompanying smile. Otherwise there is a bar here if you wish. And from Bybanen it may be around 10-15 minutes to walk. So it is centrally located in Bergen. Can definitely recommend this hotel for the price against the standard one gets.

Bergen Airport is coming out of the A5 platform. Tickets are sold on the platform. 195 NOK is returned to and from the airport bus. If the driver manually sells tickets for 149 kr. The bus arrives at the fishmarket in the city center in about 20 minutes, and it takes about five minutes to walk. More convenient. Next to the fish market, there are several piers, which are different kinds of fjord tours. There are three hours, there are 12 hours, you pick yourself. The fruit at the front desk is very rich, and in a small bottle of mineral water to sell 25, the free fruit at the front desk is awesome. Breakfast is also very good, salmon, just eat, when salted fish eat with breakfast, haha.

During this trip, this hotel is the best, high grade, complete facilities, good location, good service, this hotel is close to where the cable car is right at the hotel, right turn, so many people line up. Very close to the fish market, there are a lot of food inside, two days of rice are solved here. In the herringbone group, the bus is also very close, 15 minutes walk from the train station, the airport bus terminal stops in front of the herringbone house, the penultimate station stops at the fish market, the bus from the airport is the bus, credit card and credit card Can give cash, 130 Norwegian Krona everyone, the credit card did not know what happened? Just can't brush, the driver still let us get on the bus, thank you very much for the bus driver. There is no money change at the airport. When I get to the city center, I change my money. I take 60 NOK per person on the bus. The hotel has a sauna gym, you have to go to the front desk to get a gym card, you can enter, on the 2nd basement, the sauna is great, you can try it. The breakfast at the hotel was not bad. In short, Bergen left a good impression on me.

Three nights for about £290 which was about the same as other hotels nearby. When I arrived I was told the hotel only opened just over a year ago, which meant that most of the hotel looks clean and new. The reviews on here go back to summer of 2017 so I suspect that is when it actually opened, but they may have taken time last year to spruce the place up when the whole world was in lockdown. The hotel is very well situated by the port / fish market and old part of Bergen. So it is very close to shops and restaurants as well as the wonderful fish market. There are bus stops within two minutes walk. It is a small hotel (I believe not more than 50 bedrooms) with two restaurants on the ground floor. The reception is in the main bar/restaurant where breakfast is also served. Check in was quick and the man at reception was very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was fine, a continental breakfast which included cereal, yoghurt, hot drinks, juices, cheeses, pate, cold meats, boiled or scrambled egg, some little pastries, and a choice of toasts. No complaints! I had booked a queen room rather than a single room as the single room on the website looked tiny. The queen room was tiny too. There was only space to walk on one side of the bed, less than 6 inches the other side so pulling the curtains was a challenge, unless one stood on the bed. There is limited hanging space and storage space and in the bathroom and while there is a generous large mirror with a light over the small sink, this has no storage cupboard behind it. Also the full length mirror is provided, but difficult to see because of where it is sited. The only space to store anything in the bathroom was in a small space under the sink. There are places that shelves could have been provided, or a different sink unit, or cabinet over the sink. There was not even anywhere to put your toothbrush by the sink, the lack of storage seems to be a false economy. There was also no plug in the sink, and I have no idea why! I used one of the shelves in the hanging unit to store make up. There is no dressing table, but a shelf underneath the television pulls down to a horizontal position, and it is large enough to work on a laptop on - but no real lighting or mirror so it would not serve as a dressing table. There was a small safe, a hair dryer, fridge and kettle in the room, but no iron. I don’t know if there was an iron or ice makers in the hotel as I did not ask. There was a control for the floor heating in the bathroom but no other way of heating or cooling the room. However the temperature was fine for me so there must be some heating. The shower was good - a rain shower as well as a hand held shower, but the towels provided were small and thin. There was no floor towel provided to stand on after the shower and the water did leak out underneath the shower door a little. Also for a hotel to describe itself as a boutique hotel but not provide shampoo and conditioner is a bit lacking. There was a soa

The most fabulous dinner I've had in a good while. We enjoyed a big mixed plate for starters, including my favorite: skagenrøre og brioche. It melted in the mouth. And so beautifully decorated. I chose the "svinenakke" with the corn puré and it blew my mind. Fresh and lean with a delicious glaze. The service was out of this world. They were fast and so welcoming. Very helpful with any wants and needs. Special shout out to the chefs, Filipe and Fredrik who took the time out of their busy work to come by our table and explain the wonderful food and too check that we were happy. And also a big thanks to the waiter and off course the bartender who went out of their way to make this day special to us. The lobby gives you high expectations about the rooms and suites, but I’m afraid you will be disappointed when you enter the room. We got a dark suite with cigarette marks, bad lighting, missing panels on door and a rusty hole in the tub! The couch had stains and there were scratch marks on the table. Felt more like a sad and shabby motel room 😳. I had expected a much higher standard and a nice view, but sadly also this was a disappointment. A high row of office windows in a noisy back street. If you’re not planning to hang most of the time in the lobby area or strolling around in beautiful Bergen (will meet all expectations btw), I advice you to choose another hotel.

I stayed at this hotel as my first stop on a longer trip around Norway. I wanted somewhere nice and central and the hotel ticks these boxes. The rooms are spacious and the harbour, train station and all bus and tram routes are within a short walk. I also found the hotel to be good value for money compared to other hotels in Bergen for the location. The key issue is the customer service and finding the hotel. I almost gave this review a one star because the experience was just so awful! And I would be reluctant to recommend it to others based on this point. The hotel is located in the Xhibition shopping centre and it is really unclear where it is if you don't already know what you're looking for. There isn't really any proper signs. I had already told the hotel in advance what time I would arriving yet when I got to where I thought it was, the lights were off and there was nowhere around. This was around 3pm so well within the check in time. When I called up, the lady who answered told me she wasn't there and would come back and check me in later. It was absolutely pouring with rain at this point and it was so frustrating and stressful landing in a new country and then finding your hotel closed! When the receptionist finally arrived, she did not even apologise and had a very bad attitude. There also really isn't a proper dedicated reception area and the service hours are really limited. Apart from the receptionist on my first night, I saw no other staff member my whole stay. So if anything goes wrong in the evening, you're kind of stuck - I am not sure what I would have done if my keycard had stopped working or something! Thankfully that didn't happen. Overall, there are clear issues with check in and customer service which really detract from the good parts of the hotel such as the central location.

The old house was remodeled, the facilities were old, the rooms were small, and there was no comparison with another modern scandic near the train station. After all, the price difference was there. The breakfast was good overall, but the restaurant was small and the frying fumes were heavy. When I checked in, I told the main station that I had to catch a boat in the morning and couldn’t eat breakfast. One girl said that she could take the prepared lunch box and ask for any allergies... But the next morning, another girl was on duty, saying that she did not know this. Then, I gave an empty box and said if you want to decorate it yourself... I am dizzy!

I had a solo night on this hotel. I arrived by motorcycle. I was able to park the motorcycle free of charge right outside the main entrance, even under cover from rain. The hotel if fashionable, modern and has a high standard. Excellent Cleanliness. I got a room with a balcony as well. Nice, but the view from the balcony was not very beautiful. The beds are very comfortable, and I slept very good. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the airport. Breakfast is therefore served from 4 am, such that you can have a breakfast no matter how early you flight leaves. And the breakfast is very good, just as you expect at a Scandic Hotel. I would like to recommend this hotel if you need a flight in the morning. Even if you want to party downtown in Bergen, you can take the tram to the airport and walk to the hotel.

I stayed at the Comfort Bergen airport 4 nights, it was a fresh hotel, big and roomy front desk and lounge area. The rooms are a bit modern an cold for my taste but it is totally fine for a business trip. Would not choose it for a romantic getaway. I found the rooms very quiet and a great plus is that it is so close to the airport that you can walk over. There is pretty much nothing around but you can easy get to the city center or the mall by public transport from the airport. The hotel staff is nice. There is a small gym with pretty much all you need of equipment in the basement. There is also a fridge for all guest. However I had some food there and was shocked to be buried by an avelange of fish that one guest had been allowed to put in the freezer the nigth before. All other food was moved, so this I don’t consider the safest option, I wish there was fridges in the room. I also miss the water boilers in room for a morning coffe. It is a hassle having to walk down to the front desk for it. The beds are same standard as other comfort hotels, ok. The pillows same small, and the duvet just a bit to thin and cold for my taste. But this is also the normal comfort standard. Housekeeping had missed some spots in my room, like something that looked like dried snot on my bed, and the bed frame was full of stains. Also the area around the pump on the soaps could use a scrub. Small issues but still disgusting enough. Other than that, great hotel, hairdryer was in room, no ironing equipment but there is spaces for that. There is a restaurant next to the front desk and a small shop if you feel like having a snack. All in all pretty good for your money.

Unfortunately I stayed at the Opus XVI for one night only. The hotel is centrally located in the city center of Bergen. I arrived late in the evening and check in procedure was quickly done. Overall the room they gave me was spacious, clean and nice with high ceilings. I especially liked the old hotel building with its Edvard Grieg history. I made the booking for this stay on hyatt.com and as a member of their World Of Hyatt program breakfast is complimentary. I enjoyed the breakfast in their luxurious restaurant with a classy atmosphere. The staff was very attentive and very friendly! I definitely will return to this wonderful hotel in Bergen!

I spent one night at Bergen Børs; a hotel I called “my new favourite hotel in Bergen” the first time I reviewed it, and “declining awesomeness” the second time. And, unfortunately, it plunged further down this time. I had a basic double room, and as last time it wasn’t properly cleaned and seemed poorly maintained. I also booked breakfast for 7am (you will be asked to estimate when you’ll eat breakfast when you check in). At 7am nothing was ready – it actually took nearly 20 minutes before everything was in place. And whether you will be offered “proper” coffee by the staff is a 50/50 chance. The hotel (and surroundings) were very quiet, WiFi worked perfectly, and check-in was a breeze. The hotel is centrally located at Fisketorget, with only a few minutes’ walk to e.g. Fløyen and other tourist attractions. There’s a REMA1000 and KIWI (grocery stores) only 50m from the entrance, and the airport bus stops right outside the hotel. BUT – the same goes for a number of hotels in Bergen, and I’ll probably try another one next time…

We stayed here as part of our pre-cruise itinerary with Viking Cruise’s Oslo to Bergen by Train, in early April. Staff was very friendly and did their best to be helpful, although for the most part, our group was under the care of Viking Staff, who have a presence in the lobby area of the hotel. The room we had was elegant, but not efficient. It was as far away from the elevator as it was possible to be. Within the room, the lights were all controlled from one switch, except for the reading fixture next to the bed. This meant that lights were all on or all off. One side of the bed had only USB ports. The other side of the bed had an electrical outlet, so that meant the person with the BiPAP had to have that side. The USB ports were not useful, as our devices now use USB-C. These were minor inconveniences, the greater problem was that there was no place to unpack or store a suitcase. This meant the elegance of the room was marred by having our bags propped open awkwardly, for our entire stay. Our room in particular had an issue: the hooks in the bathroom for towels had been removed (stolen), so there was no place to put towels. The breakfast was wonderful: lots of choices, and quite delicious. The location was amazing. Everything we wanted to see was in easy walking distance, or available via transit options. I would not want to stay in this hotel for more than a day or two, since the room layout was so awkward; I think the designer should be required to stay in our room for a week, with a partner, in order to see how it actually works and doesn’t work. That said, I have very fond memories of our Bergen visit, and would love to come again, possibly in a different location.

The third country in the five Nordic countries, but also went to 8 cities and lived in multiple hotels! The overall feeling is more expensive, has always been a 4 star hotel, and slowly feel that the hotel is more and more expensive, so this time set this relatively cheap, to be honest, and did not expect the hotel's service! However, it is very pleasant to be surprised that the hotel is very close to the station and close to various attractions. It is completely within walking distance to various attractions! Although the room is a bit small and the bathroom is small, everything else is fine! Especially worthy of praise is that breakfast is very good! The reception service is also very good! Recommended! Before I saw someone commenting that there is nothing in the kettle that boils water, our room has a kettle! Of course, the European hotel has always provided no toothbrush and toothpaste and still the phenomenon of slippers! If you come next time, stay here again! I really like this city in general! The surrounding area is not convenient. The first time I stayed near the airport, I realized that I couldn’t eat and drink. There is nothing to say about sanitation, clean, breakfast is great, the weakness is that the room is very small, we three people, remember to see the room area 20M2, but how to see it is up to a dozen flat, anyway, two nights, will be, but the first Two nights, my husband ran to another hotel and lived.

We had our Wedding ceremony at the hotel, and checking in was a very messy experience. Already being stressed you dont want to use 20 minutes in the reception just checking in.. They had a hard time finding the booking because they could not use the booking reservation for some reason. Also paying for the venue was difficult. In the end we had no more time and had to come back later. Next time, we got the key to a room already in use. There were no cleaning in the wedding suite and arriving in the evening the food from the breakfast was still there and the bed was not made. The man at the front desk working the night shift however was very kind and had the card for our room ready when we arrived. Also we got access to the ceremony location to set out flowers and make the venue ready the day before. The breakfast is great with the best smoothies and the best scrambled eggs. The bar at the hotel is amazing. Also the hotel rooms has great light and was good for the photographers. A messy experience, with both positive and bad feedback.

Stayed for 2 nights. I had read about the concept before so knew what to expect. The hotel is very well located, close to the main railway station, bus stops and an easy block from the tram that takes you to the airport. Check in/out is done through a machine, there is no front desk or concierge. My room was modern and clean with a double bed, desk area and bathroom with standing shower. As explained in their website, the hotel offers a low-cost model so rooms don't have toiletries, mini fridge, TV or in-room safe. Daily cleaning is not included either. Common spaces were nice and had lounging areas with TV, vending machines, microwave and fridge. There is a bar attached to the hotel as well. Overall, this is a good option if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel and are just looking for a budget-friendly place to rest your head after a full day of exploring.
