Where do I begin with the problems? This may seem centrally located, but it is still quite a hike from Osaka Station, especially with bags. As other travelers have noted, the entrance is fairly well hidden, we got lucky and walked in the right door and figured out where to go the first time, but that was just dumb luck. The area was the most seedy place I have been anywhere in Japan. There was trash on the streets, and loud fights going on practically everywhere. Had to push our way past the drunks on the way in and the way out. Staff took FOREVER to do check in and couldn't seem to find our reservation and yes, then it cost a bit more for no appreciable reason. Luggage storage area simply a roped off area in the tiny check in room (anybody could make off with your luggage and nobody would know the difference). We asked for two keys because there were two of us and got major static, but eventually our two keys. Elevator up to our floor claustrophobic beyond belief - could barely fit the two of us and our luggage. The room was small and cramped. All the advertised amenities were there, but in miniature. The walls are done up in 1970s dark paneling, so lighting is a major issue. Also had to hunt around to find the electrical outlets to charge our phone/tablets. Bathroom was decent sized, but the faucet sounded like a 747 taking off every time we used it. EVERY time we left our room, we were stopped by hall staff demanding to know who we were and where we were going. Nobody tells you that the rooms are right next to a busy freeway overpass, so you have cars and trucks going by all day and night. Then in the morning you are treated to the sights and sounds of guys pouring their drunken girlfriends into taxis right out in front of the hotel. And yes, there are the police and ambulances constantly moving around 24/7. Then the breakfast is an adventure. We bought tickets, but as there are no signs we sat down at one of the tables and were almost assaulted by the dining room lady who DEMANDED our tickets. After getting over our sheer embarrassment from that we went to the "buffet" that was limited at best, with most things running out almost immediately. It was a struggle to find something to eat in any sufficient quantity to start your day. Protein offerings ran out FAST, even in the very early hours. If you want an adventure in lodging, this is the place for you. If you want someplace that is relatively friendly, has some customer service, is not overrun by rude staff and drunks, go somewhere....anywhere....else.FromUS$33.00

I LOVE staying in Umeda every time I visit Osaka (usually once a year). AirBnBs in the area have disappeared, and this is the best and most basic option for a good value. Sure, there may be cheaper hotels - but they're just kind of dated and older. This hotel is what you want for a basic hotel - clean, comfortable, excellent location. This hotel was very well designed, spotless, excellent space for a Japanese city hotel. Bed was comfortable, air con strong, bidet, good shower products. Totally great for what it should be - a place to rest at night. You don't actually don't need to spend time in your room anyway! Just a five minute walk to the Umeda nightlife street and the MASSIVE Osaka/Umeda station complex with tons of shopping. You don't need to go to Shinsaibasi - everything is here and feels MUCH MORE local. Minus one star: housekeeping stops at 12:30 PM every day and no one told me until I called to take out trash. For going out at night and eating lots of snacks in my rooms, it meant a little trash that I never could get removed because I was always sleeping late. I don't even need a full clean, but the fact that I couldn't get trash taken out was annoying. But I survived! I did also see a long black hair (mine's brown) on the shower wall (but hair is harmless I know, and it was literally one), but not a big deal. Everything else was SPOTLESS.FromUS$29.00

This was the best hotel experience during our 4 week trip in Japan. Calling this a hotel is almost a insult, this is a residence. You will not regret staying at this hotel while visiting Osaka. But be prepared to spend some time exploring and enjoying the room! We had a hot tub, huge bed and 3!! huge balcony’s with a magical view of the City. The room was clean and came with a wide range of amenities from slippers, bathrobes to a wonderful pyjamas. And a clean nice white tuch to the room. It was not just the room that made this stay excellent; it was the service, and helpfulness of all the staff. The staff was excellent and provided a unique and wonderful stay. This hotel does not have many rooms. So not a lot of people in Osaka know where this is, our taxi driver and the other hotel we stayed at had newer heard about this jewel. The room was quite small as maybe usual in Japan but we had a comfortable stay in a comfy bed! Everything was
well thought of by the hotel. The placing of small reading lights near the bed, and their switches. No place for closet but the
clothes hangers on the wall was ideal. The bathtub was enjoyable plus their quality toiletries. A bottle of water would have been
appreciated though convenience stores are close by. A free breakfast of coffee and tea and some bread are laid out in the,lobby.

The price is really too high!
After traveling in Japan for more than a week, I finally lived in a room where a family can straighten their legs! The front desk is Chinese-speaking. I don't know if we saw a child with us and also specially upgraded us for free. Children have their own beds! It turned out that sleeping alone on a bed was so cool! The bathtub and electric toilet are also complete, don't be too satisfied! The only thing is to take a subway or bus, but during the walk, I saw the quiet side of Osaka.
Breakfast is not free for children under seven years old. The food in the morning was still plentiful and there were many choices. Don't sleep late. Don't hesitate to eat and live well, this is it!

The hotel is next to the subway, opposite to Sakurajima subway station, walk to the subway station for 2 or 3 minutes. The location is definitely a big plus. The hotel is connected to the huge underground shopping with lots of restaurant and shopping choices.
Though the hotel is old, it's clean.
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and I will certainly return again. Another big plus about this hotel is that it is right on top of the airport bus Umeda station.

The location of the hotel is the highest in the same district. It is in all directions. It is close to Kuromon Market, Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi. The Kobe beef and the Japanese restaurant diagonally opposite are downstairs recommended. The internal environment of the hotel is ok, the rooms are a bit old, but overall it is quite hygienic. This is the place to choose for the next family because it is only 10 minutes away from Namba Station and it is very convenient to take the subway to and from the airport!

We stayed twin room on the Grandvia floor with lounge. Rooms are very beautiful with a superb view. Service was good and very convenient location just above Osaka train station . We added at additional bed which made the room a bit tight, otherwise it is a good size for Japan hotel
