This is one of the cheapest places we have ever stayed. There are a number of new motel rooms at the back of the hotel, while small they have been recently refurbished with new bathrooms, quiet too. The parking area is off the main street and secure but could do with a cleanup. Good bar, wide range of beers, friendly service and the bistro was OK too. Left a pair of shoes in our room which the cleaning staff returned to us before we got in our car. We booked at the hotel which was much cheaper than using a booking agency.

My husband has Parkinsons so I decided to take him to Moree to try the Artesian spas. We stayed at the Artesian Spa Motel & it was fantastic. 2 spa pools , one very hot & the other much cooler . After soaking in the spas then a dip in the normal cold pool was a delight. The staff from the moment we got there were so lovely . Thank you Jess & Maureen for looking after us . It is only a few moments into the town itself. Very clean & very comfy . I would definately go back & highly recommend The Artesian Spa Motel.

Had one night at the Albert and would recommend to everyone. We booked a spa room which was a good size with everything you would need for a short stay. What we really liked was that the motel is part of the large Memorial Club, which is accessed thru a secure gate from the motel, so no need to travel out at night. We had a good club meal and then back in our room next door. We ordered a full breakfast which is delivered to our room and was very good.

Great care is taken in the motel, and you can see it is well run. Slightly dated but exceptionally clean and spacious rooms. The staff were very helpful on the area with recommended things to do and see. Highly recommended and we would stay here again. For us it was good value for money.

We travel regularly from Melbourne to Brisbane and discovered this gem on our current trip. The manager is very friendly and helpful. We travel with our small dog and he is no problem to them at all, you even still get a nice room. (Many dog friendly motels have really awful pet rooms). Motel has comfy beds, super clean, good hot showers, quality linen and towels, and has everything you need. Nighttime security gates and two restaurants 2 mins nearby with good takeaway, close to mineral pool. Will definitely stay again.

This is a great option for those looking to travel to Moree. Staying in one of the upgraded executive rooms (which is very reasonably priced) and cannot fault it. The manager, I think his name is Mick, is very friendly. One of my colleagues had to change rooms due to our late booking change and he simplified this by offering to swap the bags over to the new room while we were out working. It's the small things like this that make you appreciate owner operators and their want for you to have a stress free stay. I have paid more for so SO much less and it's great to see this place thriving. A well deserved 5 stars for many reasons. Thank you for accommodating us Econolodge Moree team.

Worst sleep or lack of ever. Hotel clean comfortable staff ok but NOISE , walls paper thin can hear conversation in other rooms, next door takes a shower wakes you up, dogs barking all night from neighbours houses, cars right out side room window not only keeps you awake but if you do nod off then they wake you up and all the fumes comes into your room .... I am totally exhausted !!!! It reminds me of hospital and having broken sleep except you can get more sleep in hospital, people coughing, talking right outside your window regardless of what room your in, NEVER AGAIN it has been the worst night ever , I right fair reviews and the only fault with the hotel itself would be the pillows which are flat, hard and uncomfortable. Do yourself a favour go some where else.

Recently I revisited the Maria Motel, and again experienced the delights of what is truly an Australian way of life. The motel very much belongs in Moree an Australian country town. It is authentic gentle and provides a place of rest for those needing a bed.. The motel is across the road from the Moree baths and to see women in bath robes heading for a bath may best describe the way the Motel is Moree. One day there will be an exclusive appreciation of the Maria motel gowever for now it belongs to the tradesman and the tourists staying casually for one or two nights. If one is needing to rest a night in Moree i would highly recommend the Manor motel as a unique experience.... an Australian way of life.

We came back because of a bargain basement price, so had low expectations, tempered by a vague recollection of a good stay last time. What we found was much better than we expected. This motel is well outside the town centre (a good place to be in Moree), but well away from the Newell Highway, so the incessant trucks there aren’t a problem. There is a big pool with a well watered grass area around it, a nice haven from the drought. Inside the rooms are old, and the windows bolted shut, but we noted a new carpet on the floor and everything worked. Pleased were we that the restaurant was open on the weekend, the service was very good, and the meals were great. They claim to be the best restaurant in Moree, and that claim is plausible. Having ticked all our boxes, we’ve noted the Burke & Wills as out go-to place in Moree. We’ve tried others, paid a lot more elsewhere in town, but I reckon we’ve found our sweet spot here.

The hotel is across from KFC and the location is good. The boss and the couple were also nice, staying flexible and leaving the entrance door for late arrivals. The equipment in the room is basically simple: no hair dryer is provided, the small refrigerator is a bit noisy, one soap per person, bath towels, and curtain shower are provided. Overall, it is not bad, it is very clean. It is a good place for passers-by to stay. After all, we also read the reviews. The mattresses and pillows are really good.

We came to Moree looking for room with access to hot pool and found it here. The room was ok as we paid for a 'deluxe queen room'. Not deluxe but bed was comfortable and room clean. Kitchenette adequate for overnight stay with microwave, fridge, jug and toaster ( which toasted on only one side and burnt the toast). TV was ok but if switched off reverted to analogue instead of digital and it took me a while to work out how to change it so it would work. The hot pool was great and we used it twice ( afternoon and morning). There is also an indoor spa area with several big spa baths but we didn't try them. It was much too cold for the cold pool.

The gardens and pool area are fabulous. The view over the Kokoda Valley and overlooking the Gold Coast night lights from the dual swinging bench seat gave such a magical atmosphere. The little ponies and bird life were lovely to see and hear. We could listen to the gentle breeze blowing the leaves in the trees near our room. Good time of the year to go regarding weather and temperatures. A 15 minute drive to Mt Tamborine village shops. Enjoyed the Cuckoo Clock shop! Kirsten was a fantastic host/owner and very friendly. We were welcomed with eggs, bacon, bread, UHT milk, teas, coffee, sugar and margarine. Small bar fridge, large electric frying pan, kettle and microwave provided. Large lounge room, queen size bed and a spa bath with loo paper, soap and shampoo provided. Lovely 2 seater bench on the balcony. The accommodation caters for couples and families. There was nothing not to like! We’ll be back.

This YHA is clean, welcoming and had a great atmosphere. I stayed here long term and loved it. Rooms get cleaned every day, kitchen multiple times a day and they got new laundry equipment. I have stayed in a few YHA hostels in AUS and I gotta say this is by far the best one. Things were clean and tidy. Of course a kitchen can’t be clean all the time seeing as some backpackers think they brought their mom with them in their travels to clean after them, but they didn’t so sometimes it’s a bit messy, but I don’t blame the hostel for that. Even people staying in the hostel were nice and welcoming. I definitely felt at home here and I think you would too. Going to Byron? Then this is definitely the hostel I would recommend! Thanks for a great stay!!

This was my first ever time staying in a hostel and I couldn't be happier with my experience. If you are looking for a brand new hostel with fancy furniture go somewhere else. The magic of this one is the setup. They have a corridor through the middle with tables where everyone congregates to eat, talk and smoke. I met a lot of very nice people in a short time and they were all eager to invite each other to go explore or have dinner. There are free rental bikes and surfboards, a pool and a basketball net. You can't really go wrong as it's also conveniently located right on the main strip. Highly recommend to anyone solo travelling or looking to meet other travelers in Byron!

Expect a warm and friendly antiopodean welcome from Kate & David. Abelia House was the fine Australian Homestead that you always imagine. We liked that it was on a private estate, at the end of a long lane, near the edge of the bush with pretty walks. Delicious range of fresh fruit, greek yoghurt, healthy museli, quality tea/coffee, biscuits were left in the room. No breakfast timings or constraints (yay!) and at 8:30am steamy, freshly baked, hot scrummy chunky apple blueberries muffins left on your patio. It was wafting .. cared for, looked after, that said have the best stay with us. The garden is sensational; it is absolutely beautiful, peaceful with local “critters” and birds. It was “national trust / kew gardens / botanic”, natural & beautiful. The interiors are boutique and meticulously set up, fastidiously checked with attention to detail. For English people, this is boutique bed’n’breakfast (better than hotels!) Babington House Australian style, quintessential aussie ”provence", … and the finest Aussie hospitality. David and Kate are authentic Byron Bay residents of 30 years, who have got something unique, personalised, petit & very fine. Plenty of WiFi! No TV - yay! No signal - even better - my husband was on vacation and I’m glad the office was out of range! ps: Abelia honey is delicious - gives manuka a run for it’s money. pss: We wished we had stayed longer as we would have loved to paint & sketch in the garden.

We were greeted at reception with a warm smile and willingness to help with our luggage. As we made our way up the stairs to the communal lounge and dining area, we were transported to a Tuscan theme of decor. As we entered our room, this theme carried on. It is quite glamorous and, to us, luxurious. Within 5 minutes, we had been handed a glass of sparkling wine and cheese board along with a fruit bowl, chocolates and port in our room. Our room (5) was out the back which overlooked one of the two pools and nicely kept grass and gardens (along with a couple of bush turkeys and water lizards sunning themselves). ... I do love watching nature so this was not a problem. Staff organised our dinner arrangements with restaurant within walking distance for that night. The continental breakfast was delicious and filling. Hubby says the coffee was great as well. My only downside to this place is, and to be quite honest, nothing to do with Victoria’s, is my limited capacity to walk distances. Byron Bay central is at least 3-4 kilometres away, so I was unable to enjoy the lovely boardwalk from Wategos to town to walk to restaurants instead of driving. Uber cars were easily available though. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Victoria’s Wategos and highly recommend it. Wish I could post my photos.
