I recently stayed at Roland Hotel, and I must express my extreme dissatisfaction with the entire experience. The most glaring issue was the appalling internet connection. Despite their claims of providing seamless connectivity, I found myself struggling to maintain any form of online presence. This was particularly frustrating as I needed the internet for both personal and professional purposes. Moreover, the staff’s attitude towards this problem was shockingly unprofessional. When I approached them regarding the internet outage, their responses were inconsistent and unhelpful. One moment I was watching TV, and the next, they denied any internet availability for the TV service. It was baffling to encounter such contradictory statements from different staff members. But what truly added to my disappointment was the billing discrepancy. The hotel’s website had clearly stated a 30% discount on the invoice, yet the bill I received had no such deduction. When I inquired at the reception, their explanation regarding tax additions did not align with the final amount, which was still inexplicably 2500 more than expected. I felt compelled to make the payment, given the circumstances, especially with my two-year-old son with me, but it felt like being subjected to the hotel’s unfair practices. Attached is the invoice that highlights this unfair treatment. I strongly advise against staying at Roland Hotel. The level of service is severely lacking, and it seems customer satisfaction is not their priority, especially once payment is received. Please be wary of these issues if you consider staying here. Be cautious about if considering a stay at Roland Hotel: 1. Internet Connectivity: Be prepared for potentially poor or unreliable internet service, which could be a significant inconvenience, especially if you require consistent online access. 2. Staff Responsiveness and Consistency: Expect possible challenges with the staff, including receiving contradictory information and unhelpful attitudes towards resolving issues. 3. Billing and Promotions: Be vigilant about billing practices. Confirm any promotional discounts (like the mentioned 30% off) in advance and carefully review the final invoice for accuracy, including understanding how taxes are applied. 4. The cons first have to climb 1 flight of stairs with your luggage as there’s no lift the ac is old so it takes a long time to cool the big room the trash can provided is very small so we had to ask for the help to unload it many times in a day or keep the trash separately in a cover in the corner now for the pros room was very clean and hygienic bathroom is big and comfortable the services provided were really good tea when you ask cutlery provided for the price it’s a more than decent hotel

It was pleasant to stay at this hotel but some needs to implemented including food. 1. Kindly provide whiper for washroom cleaning once bathing it will be very wet so that we can clear those water on the time but can't contact everytime for room service for cleaning. 2. Air/Room freshener must be available always so that we can feel fragrance while any guest or couples enter into room but for this also can't contact for housekeeping everytime we need to feel good . 3. This is my 3rd time visit in this hotel and I really liked food both times when I was here but this January 2024 it was not as good as last time. Quality wise as well as quantity wise there is some difference since the last visit. 4. Washroom door was not good not able to close completely. Needs to be done before allocating rooms so that there is no need to contact receptionist for these repairs. Once I got in already hotel team has contacted me for repair works but time was not matching as I mostly stay out.

Perfect Hotel to stay in Kolkata for the first time. The location is very good to reach everything by walking and experience a lot in the old part of the city. In addition, the Metro station is only some minutes away and brings you shortly to every place you want. The Hotel itself is very nice and clean. The reception staff is friendly and very supportive. The pure vegetarian restaurant is yummy and offers you a huge number of delicious dishes. My breakfast was included and I enjoyed it every morning very much. Chaina Sharma and her Team fullfilled all my tasty wishes and gave me a tasty overview about the Indian kitchen. All have been so friendly and helpful. I‘m looking forward to my next stay here.

I shall start from arrival at the hotel. We were a family of four who had booked two rooms at the property. We arrived around 14:30 Hrs (at least 30 mins after the designated check-in time). First of all, although the check-in desk at the hotel is quite huge, there were only 3 staff members ***ning the desk, all of them occupied. We had to wait for around 15 mins, looking here and there like *****s with our bags on before someone greeted us. And I do not mind waiting for check-in; what I do mind is that despite multiple staff members seeing us wait, not one of them acknowledge our presence and asked us to take a seat and wait. They would all look at us and carry on. Forget a warm smile, forget a namaste, we were made to feel like fools just standing there without anyone attending to us. When we finally did get a chance to check in, we were given two adjacent rooms. The key to one room was handed over to us, and we were told that the second room is not ready yet and that as soon as it is ready the key would be sent to us in our room. We said okay and moved towards our room. Once in our room, all four of us sat waiting in one room for around 45 mins for the key to the second room. We were not able to unpack because we wanted to unpack in our respective rooms. Tired and hungry, we left the hotel to get ourselves some lunch and some sightseeing, hoping that by the time we return our second room would be ready. When we returned and asked for the key to the second room from the reception desk, we were told that the room that was allocated to us had been now given to someone else -- and we were given some other room that was ”close” to the first room. I understand that asking for adjacent rooms is a mere request and not a right. But had we been given a ”close” room earlier, we could have gotten the keys earlier at the time of check-in! We waited for a room for so long, only for it to be given to someone else. Fast forward to the next morning's breakfast. The spread was quite good and quite diverse in variety. However, again the entire staff at the breakfast looked tense for some reason. And they kept messing up with live counter orders. No one had a smile on, no one welcomed you with warmth, and no one made you feel as if you were staying in a 5-star hotel (which The Lalit considers itself to be). Our entire experience with The Lalit was below par at the very least. It was not the kind of experience you would expect from a branded property that so conveniently calls itself a luxury 5-star property. I honestly feel for the money that I paid, I could and should have gotten a different property and that would have been definitely better. For the foreseeable future, and till things change, I do not see myself staying at any Lalit property.

There is a shopping center called Acropolis nearby, which also has a food court. The rooms are spacious and clean. Please note that the mattresses are hard. Although 1,200 yen is on the expensive side for a dormitory, it was worth it as breakfast was included (and there are few places to eat nearby).

We had booked 35 rooms in the month of September'23 for our marriage party in 18th-20th January'24 for 3 days. Just 1 week prior to our check-in we get a call from the hotel that there is sewage problem in all the rooms above 2nd floor due to which they had to shut down all the floors and they cannot honor our booking and have to shift us to another mediocre property about 1 km away. Due to peak marriage rush we were helpless as it was last moment and had to agree. They provided us with 10 rooms at Regenta Inn Larica and 25 rooms at NPG Hotel Kolkata. We were shocked to see that another marriage party was checked in on the same day at the hotel. The hotel did not honor any of the commitments that were agreed upon. Our marriage party was divided and all our functions were spoiled. The banquet hall on the 1st floor was not provided, instead a smaller banquet was provided on the 7th floor with no amenities. Our caterer was threatened to vacate the kitchen on the same day for the other party's caterer. All the staff misbehaved with my father-in-law and all the elders making it the worst experience. We were humiliated infront of everyone whom we had invited for the wedding. This hotel and it's management are fraudsters. These greedy people destroyed our whole marriage experience. Please do not book in advance with this property, these people have no ethics, they can go down to any level to satisfy their greed.

An excellent stay at Taj Bengal. I have been coming to India for 24 years and lived in the country for seven of those years, but until now I had never been to Kolkata. This four day trip (5th to 9th October) ticked that bucket list objective at a time when the city was aliive with Durga Puja celebrations. I extend particular thanks to Raja at the poolside, to Bilal on the front desk, to Tapas for ferrying me around and for telling me so much about the city, and to Sanjeeb Chakravarti who had me whisked through check-in and security at Kolkata airport quicker than you can say ”Kumartuli Park Sarbojanin Durga Puja Pandal”. Those are the named individuals, but all staff disolayed unfailing courtesy and attentiveness, and all deserve my thanks. The facilities are top rate, as you might expect, and were just what I needed, thank you everyone.

From day 1 we started to have discussion with Sujoy, We were confident that the Team Orkao's was able to understand what we wanted and also they transcended beyond it. What really made the difference was the value for money offerings. Whenever any discussion was going on, the options was on the table with the pros and cons and also what better could be done. When the final D day came, then I am really glad when the stepped into the hall. The event ***ager Subhankar was right upto the mark and he never made be feel that some thing might go wrong. Seeing the arrangement the preparation, my confidence grew up and really as the time passed we were more than happy. Even the guests who attended really appreciated at the food quality, the ambience and the staff behaviour. So I would personally recommend that if any one wants to go for any party the only place is Regenta Orko's Kolkata.
