I was a bit apprehensive to stay this hotel as it is not near to two main railway stations of this town. But this time I had to stay in this city for more than 3 weeks, therefore I ventured to try this hotel and it was a right choice. The room is clean and spacious with good facilities. The bed was quite good and I could sleep very well. Especially I liked their breakfast with many varieties of Japanese delicacies.

Fully equipped business hotel. First of all, the location is easy for walking. There is also a parking building directly behind the car. The interior is also cleaner than I thought and there is a vending machine and microwave on the first floor. I haven't had breakfast yet. There is a convenience store and delicious yakitori restaurants within a 10-minute walk. The parking fee is free at the counter, but the parking manager asked for 1000 yen. I can't communicate well because the counter is kinder than I thought or doesn't speak English. But there wasn't much to stay in, so I didn't have to talk.

Although the hotel is quite satisfactory, the service is very good and professional. Free coffee and facial masks at check-in, as well as discount coupons for dining and attractions, are more heart-warming; cleanliness is their true nature, needless to say. The location is very good, opposite to Wakayama Castle, the viewing and sightseeing are very convenient, the bus stop to the train station is also in front of the gate, it is really convenient! Breakfast is ok, not too much surprise ~ There is also a glass church-like building that looks beautiful ~

Breakfast is simple, but the quality is very good and it is very comfortable to eat. The room is super large and super comfortable, quiet around, very close to the station, the oversized bay window sill sits up to drink and see the night view, very comfortable

The room is big enough, a twin room, about 1.25 meters. Anyway, two people can sleep, two large and two small family twin rooms are completely enough. The double room seems to be 1.8 meters away from you. Two boxes of 24 in the room are no problem. The breakfast is curry rice. Although it is monotonous, it is delicious. There is also bread and coffee, which is full. It is about 5 minutes from JR Station/Nankai Station and 711 is opposite the station. The hotel is quiet.

The location was tend a bit slightly far from station around 15mins of walk through the quiet residential neighbourhood unless you dont mind walking and dragging your luggage for that among of time during winter. The bar / reception area release a simple, nature cosy charm. The building just next door goes up to level 5th which is our dorm area. The room was just nice for 2 altho slightly cold on the wash up, shower and washroom as it was just beside separated by a wooden wall. Free coffee & tea available. Sadly didn't know about the rooftop, if not will head up and take a look.

Though it is called Hotel, it is Business Inn like. For those who would like to explore the Wakayama area in a budget way, this should be the one. My 4 nights stay in a semi double room was considered as a long stay type and the best offer from Agoda was USD$166 including breakfast. The air-conditioned room has TV, LAN, kettle jug, humidifier, air freshener, hair dryer and a large fridge. Beside the bathroom ones, hotel lobby carries more brands of shampoo and conditioner. Take Nankai Train from KIX airport and change at the second stop called Izumisano, still on Nankai line but towards Wakayamashi or Wakayamako direction. Remember to take Express train which requires 30 mins to finish 4 stops from Izumisano. Train fare from KIX is ¥870. Hotel is situated at a quiet neighborhood and basically not much to do at night but rest. The nearest convenience store is 7-11 right opposite the train station. At hotel 8/F, there is a microwave for guest use and for those who needs a PC, hotel lobby does provide one with printer. The breakfast is a decent Japanese type for everyone to enjoy.

From Wakayama port, I bicycled to the hotel. They weren’t expecting to see someone in cycling gear asking to check in, but they adjusted quickly to a friendly welcome. I was given Room 902, a small room with double bed. The room was quiet. The bed was comfortable, and the pillow had a soft side and a harder “beanbag” side, which I like. An electrical outlet on the headboard allowed me to charge my phone while I slept and still have it to hand. The window kipped open and the fresh air was welcome, though the only view was that of the neighboring apartment building; further down the hall you would get a view of the station area and on the other side of the hall you would see the tracks from your room. The bathroom was small but up- to- date, sparkling clean and had a very good, Granvia- style selection of amenities. Breakfast was in a nice room on the 5th floor-- which has some number of eateries, all of them but the breakfast site closed at this hour. The breakfast room is bright and open, and overlooks the approach to the train station. The selection was excellent, and the food quality was good. There was a grill- your- own fish station, rarely seen elsewhere. They had no hot pepper sauce, though. On 6F, the hotel offers what they call cabins, in two sizes (business class and first class.) They look like good alternatives to capsules, offering more space, a bigger bed and space to stow your stuff. There’s a lounge and common bathroom and spa facilities. I did not see them but the pictures looked pretty good. Secure bike parking is available underneath, 200Yen, and offered by Times, the big carpark company you see throughout Japan.

This hotel is perfectly situated for the marina (and all the rooms overlook it), and the theme park over the road. It is far from the town, though a 10 minute walk to a good beach. Rooms are clean and comfortable and reasonably well equipped. There are two restaurants (booking necessary), and a cafe in the lobby. During the day, the fish market and the fun-fair are other attractions, but most families seem to stay by the pools. It is very quiet at night. There is an associated spa next door that is free to residents. The staff speak little English but were all very helpful.

The official name of this place it the Wakayama Kada Hot Springs Kada Kaigetsu. It used to be called something different but this is the current name. Ok, first some of the issues with the location. When the hotel says they will pick you up from station, that is the Kada Train station. Do not mistake this with the Wakayama JR Line station or the Wakayama-shi station if you are coming from Osaka. We were surprised to find that in the off season the entire town pretty much shuts down. I assume during the summer months it's hopping but at the end of October it was super quiet. There are almost no restaurants open, definitely no convenience stores and pretty much no where to eat. Unless you buy into the half board of the hotel, which we found to be very expensive, you are on your own. Having said that, you can get into breakfast for Y2100 and diner for Y6500 per person but that was more than we wanted to pay. The first night we were wandering around town looking for a place that was open and found a place (I believe it's called the ABC restaurant) that was literally closing their gates. This was 5:45 pm. They were kind enough to feed us and for that I give them high marks and would definitely recommend them. Nice couple and the food is good and cheap. The next day we ended up taking a train up 4 stops and finding a 7-11 that had prepackaged meals, etc. so we stocked up there on things to last for a few meals. You can find a place or two that might be open but it is hit or miss so it you want to take your chances...........Also, bring a book because the wifi in the hotel is the Wakayama Free WIFI which cuts out every 15 minutes. Ok, now for the good stuff. If you are looking for a quiet break from the city this is really ideal. We got a 3 person Japanese room, ocean front. Fantastic view. If you have a family or a group the family rooms are spectacular and have wonderful views. There is an on sen (hot bath) that overlooks the ocean. Very relaxing, beautiful view and quiet. English with most of the staff is very limited (understandably so) as this is a very Japanese hotel but they do try their best. The area in front of the hotel was hit by either a tsunami or an earthquake and the road in front has been blocked off to traffic. Walking is still possible and it makes for a great evening stroll. In the evenings, if you look close enough around sunset you can see a school of dolphins swimming from the navigation buoy on the left side of the bay towards the harbour. Some nights they we very active and others not so much but watching them from the on sen was a treat. Overall a great spot to chill for a few days but think about bringing some of you own supplies.

Thank you for your careful arrangement. On the night of the check-in, the child was crying a lot (later discovered gastroenteritis), and the occupants of the floor were awake. The wife took her to the underground lobby and sat crying until 5 am. At that time, the hotel helped arrange to open another room for them. (There should be no additional charge), in the end we did not need it, but we felt the care of the hotel, and finally gave a small gift to the children, thank you and thank you. Although the hot spring in the hotel is short of time, I only dipped it once, but I also feel that the hot spring facilities are very good. Have the opportunity to go to Wakayama city, and will consider staying again.

Close to JR Wakayama station, whilst not on the most exciting side, there's still plenty of food options for dinner. The hotel is what you would expect from the Toyoko Inn chain if you've ever stayed with them before: efficient check in, good service, small but clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is the usual basic Japanese fare with toast as a Western option, with limited seating. They strangely seemed to be lacking knives, so other hotel guests as well as myself were using forks, spoons and chopsticks to try and spread the jam on the toast! A well priced hotel which gives me the basics I need for a good night's rest.
