The room was great - clean, safe, had a few nice dishes & glasses, comfy bed, nice bathroom, fridge, microwave, kitchen sink. Only disappointing thing was the fact that there was a $40 cleaning fee (in addition to the price paid through this website) required by the hotel before checking in, so the list price is very misleading.

The hotel is a mid-range hotel in westin. The room is very new and relatively large. The location is in a better area of Reno City. The bed was very comfortable. Some reviews said it was noisy, maybe because the windows were not closed tightly. The public area on the first floor is relatively large. The gym facilities are okay and the breakfast is also good.

I hesitated to give the hotel a review and thought it may have been a one-off but decided to write about our experience for the sake of other travelers. For context, my husband is a Marriott lifetime platinum and we have certain expectations when staying at a Marriott chain hotel. The Renaissance Reno is equivalent in our mind to a Marriott hotel but it failed to deliver the same quality during our stay. The positive: the hotel has been renovated with its unique style and the lobby is stunning. Our room was spacious, comfortable and updated The negative: There were 2 front desks in the lobby on each side of the entrance and it was confusing where to go for the check-in. Considering that my husband is a loyal Marriott member, the staff helping us seemed curt and did not make us feel special. Since it was a Sunday and we were told that the member's lounge was closed. We could still enter it and there were dirty dishes sitting on the counter and it felt unwelcome. Breakfast at the lounge the next few days was mediocre, so were the afternoon appetizers. This applies to service as well as quality of the food and available options. The worst offender has to be the internet TV. This trip was for us to relax, stay in and catch up on some movie watching. It was the worst experience ever! It took us about 5 hours to watch a 2.5 hour-movie. We thought it was just an a one-time problem but it happened to any movie on any internet channel. This is no exaggeration: the movie would freeze every minute which we got used to, but then it would freeze long enough to display an error, at which point you have to start over from beginning and fast-forward to where it was left off. Lastly, we did not mind paying the $15 self parking but started to notice there were outside people not staying at the hotel parking for free.

Our room was a suite in the Tuscany tower (room 918) which was fairly close to the reception desk (just up a nearby escalator and down a corridor that passes by the swimming pool, Biscotti's restaurant, and the convention hall before you reach the elevators). Our suite had a comfortable King bed with 4 very thick pillows, a mini-fridge, and a large living area with a small table and two chairs. We asked the front desk for some thinner pillows which were delivered to our room. The bathroom had dual sinks, a long vanity, and a whirlpool tub. The dual shower heads in a walk in shower for two was a very nice touch. Our only complaint was that the door was not very sound proof, and we could easily hear conversations from our neighboring suite and hallway during all hour of the day or night.

We booked two rooms for a week through RCI on checking the ranking given by RCI. Property has been rated Gold Crown for more than a decade. However our experience was mixed. Pros Spacious studio rooms with full furnishing. Furnishing is dated but well maintained. Location is big positive as nearby riverside is hub of all activities. Restaurants serving all type of cuisines are within walking distance. Parking is within the building. Activity center is well maintained. Cons.. No service for the entire period of seven days. No staff is seen with masks. Covid seems to be more of an excuse. Front office staff although courteous and helpful has been instructed to deny basic services to timeshare clients. We could see other guests also pleading to lend vacuum cleaner for self cleaning the rooms. We went through the same stress. Only saving grace was offer from front office to change the rooms. Final recommendation... it is okay to book this place for couple of days. Avoid if you are planning long stay.

Just beside the small river, cross the bridge and walk more than 200 meters along the river to the car museum to see the various cars carefully collected by the casino owner. A dedicated parking garage is available for free parking. The stopover from Yellowstone Park to Yosemite is not bad. Reno is the second largest city in Nevada and has many casinos.

The facility was just right for what we needed. It was clean and spacious. The surrounding area was blighted due to the closure of Harahs and other business establishments. There were some undesirables hanging around the hotel but tolerable. Good Vietnamese and Thai restaurant nearby. Inside the hotel, I felt safe. The front desk folks were very courteous but did not have a lot of knowledge as to where to go or where to eat. Overall, I would rate my stay a 7 or 8 out of 10.

We found the hotel to be very nicely appointed with comfortable beds and a spacious room featuring a lounge chair and long desktop surface. The staff was courteous and responded to our request for a microwave in the room. It is apparently one of a few hotels that doesn't have a ****** and we appreciated that. Our conference group utilized the very large rooms for talks and dinner. The only thing I found odd was that you couldn't access the stairs to go to your rooms (stairs are for emergency only) so the elevators were very crowded when our large group ended events.

Earlier I posted a negative review if the Atlantis Hotel & Resort. Same day, few hours later, went to Silver legacy.I found this ****** must looser than Atlantis! If I return to Reno, I will avoid Atlantis and spend more time and money in the Silver Legacy. I found the El Dorado had tight slots too! No recommendation there!

None of the employees were wearing masks like they are supposed to be, that was an unpleasant surprise at check in. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but reeked of fresh cigarette smoke. The bathroom door hinges were coming loose, making the door very difficult to shut and open. The sink wouldn't drain. The floor was grimy and the AC unit appeared to have lots of food crumbs in it. The spot in front of the room was occupied by an abandoned vehicle (no plates), so that's nice. Safety issue. The door handle latch and deadbolt did not like to latch in the low morning temperatures, I basically had to throw my whole weight on it to get it locked. Then having assured it was locked when I left in the morning, the door was unlocked/unlatched when I returned, meaning someone who works there went in while I wasn't there and didn't make sure the door latch caught. If it was housekeeping they sure didn't tidy anything, or get the sink to work... Lest anyone think I am just too picky, I have stayed at other Motel 6 locations without having a bunch of problems to report. The microwave and fridge were clean, the sheets looked clean. The front desk lady was kind when I needed a new keycard.

So first of all, I have been a platinum member for IHG® for over 10 years. This has got to be the most horrible experience I’ve ever had at any hotel. On August 12th, we booked two rooms at this hotel for a family trip with my parents and my family. We had a 6 AM flight to catch the next morning, however around 1230AM at night the fire alarm went off. We all exit the building which seem to be normal. The fire marshal stopped by and was there inspecting the building for about an additional one hour. The alarm was intermittently going on and off and it seemed that the fire marshal was having some problems turning it off. We were still outside the building for over an hour wondering what was going on and why we couldn’t go back in thinking there might have been a real incident of fire and they were inspecting the scene. Then all the sudden the fire marshal and his crew left as the fire alarm continued to go off. All the guest were stranded outside scratching their head wondering what was going on. Management left a note on the front desk stating that the manager was not available and that a fire alarm was malfunctioning and the tech was on his way. Around 2AM, Half the guest went back in holding their ears because the noise was over 100 dB loud. The other half were seemingly in their cars and they basically slept there all night. We went back into our rooms and had to cover the speaker inside of our hotel to muffle the sound. But the sound was still very loud and basically no one could get any sleep. Around 3:30 AM we couldn’t take it anymore and we packed our bags and left the hotel to head to a parking lot where we could rest before going to the airport. In a nutshell, we got zero sleep. The next day we called management asking if we can get a refund, they said to call back on Monday when there was “a manager“ available. I left numerous messages and they never called back. We never got a refund, we never heard from them. Essentially their fire alarm malfunctioned as it was still continuing to go off, guest were going back into the building to occupy their rooms, appallingly creating a more dangerous situation had there been a real fire. They made no effort to accommodate guests to place them into other IHG hotel tells nearby. This was an incident of a total collapse of management competence. This reminds me of torture methods where they force people to sit in environment that creates extreme mental anguish. If you are booking at this hotel, good luck.

After a horrible experience at another hotel (checked out immediately due to uncleanliness), I was driving around by myself with a newly operated on puppy at night looking for a place to stay. My husband called this hotel and asked for a pet-friendly room on the first floor. When I arrived the lobby was cozy and clean. The front desk attendant was very kind. My room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and I was placed on the first floor near a door outside which was very helpful! They also have a nice small off-leash area for pets.

The place seems very unorganized. Tammy Adams is supposed to be the manager but we stayed 3 weeks and many things were not up to Hilton standards We had no phone , clock or desk lamp. I tried to call the front desk several times and let the phone ring at least 20 times each time and no one answered. I was a cancer patient and really was not well. I was taking meds every hour and a half day and night. Not having a clock was very difficult in the night. A friend sent flowers and she hadn’t heard from me so she actually called to find out that they had arrived so my husband went to get them. David, at the desk, said he’d come up to tell me but I he didn’t leave me sticky note on the door. If I had a phone , like at other hotels, I would have been left a message. We were told housekeeping would come on Thursday, then Friday then finally came on Saturday. I was really suffering and bed ridden. The housekeeper Allie was so accommodating and helpful. I want to compliment her. I asked about why she hadn’t come and she said she’d been assigned 413 not 415 those days. The next week no service until Monday of the following week then again on Wednesday. The day before we left. It seems like there is no house keeping supervisor. I do want to compliment Crystal who was serving breakfast and Wednesday evening social refreshments She is very friendly and helpful she makes sure the food is great. Home made cookies a favorite. Even though CRol Nicholson is the event manager, she is very friendly to the guests and staff. She helped us get our reservations straightened out because we had to stay the 2 weekends We could have been with out a room if Carol hadn’t fixed it. My husband had tried to arrange the reservations with Anita but not done right. A suggestion for the custodian. The lobby restroom floor was very wet after he mopped yes there was a cone saying wet floor but I suggest he be given a dry mop to use after using the wet one. A disabled lady had to use it and had to grab the sink. It’s not hard to dry the floor!!! I’m disappointed that the quality of this Hilton has dropped so much. We’ve been going there over 5 years because of my health problems.
