My score is relatively low, which is not always targeted. The Courtyard Hotel is not far from the Cologne train station, nor is it close to everyone. Imagine that my husband walked about 5 minutes according to the Google Map navigation. It's connected to the square of the Cologne Cathedral. The service of the Courtyard is ok. The slippers, toothbrushes, and water are all required. The rooms are small but within the acceptable range. This is also normal in Europe. Breakfast It ’s not bad, it ’s rich, and overall it ’s quite satisfactory. There are no surprises or dislikes. My evaluation is as objective as possible.

The triple room is two single beds and a sofa bed. The friend sat on the sofa bed and broke his foot. The attitude at the front desk is average. The room is quite big, the elevator is very small, and the luggage is inconvenient. The surrounding environment is ok, not far from a small square and a city tower, several restaurants. It takes ten minutes to walk from the train station. In general, it will not live again.

This hotel is in a great location 1 stop on the S-Bahn from Cologne central station (or about a 10 minute walk). The staff are friendly, the place is very clean with good service. The breakfasts are excellent, a full buffet style including continental and cooked options. The room as quiet with good wifi. My only criticisms were that in the room i was in (41) There were no sensibly located electrical sockets. The nearest one to the bed was about 2 metres away and one metre off the floor. All the others were as far from the bed as possible behind the TV. \The TV did not have an English channel option (You usually get BBC world) but other than these gripes, the hotel was great.

I didn’t see the order without the bathroom at first, and I saw that I couldn’t stand the bathroom outside and changed the room with the bathroom. The bathroom is convenient, but the small water pressure in the pool is shallow, and the water is shallow on the ground. The wet is on a room. The towel was wet before we entered the house, the mildew on the back, the window still no ventilation in the bathroom... The smell could not be lost for a long time, my God! The equipment for bathing is a bathroom cabinet with a sense of time. The door is not very easy to use, and the force is not tight enough, which also causes the bathroom to be wet. There are no slippers, no toiletries, and a hot water bottle in the room. The bed is full of comfort, and the quilt is also the national standard. It is very close to the subway station. It is expensive to take a stop at the Central Railway Station. It takes half an hour to walk. There are many Middle Eastern residents around.

Very good, that is, the last day of the exhibition has risen from less than 1,000 to 3,000 more than one night, and the price has more than tripled. This price can live with Hilton and Marriott.

A clean centrally located hotel trying too hard to be a hipster hotel with little thought given to the guest experience. Positives: Great location and very clean, prefect for exploring the city. Negatives: The staff on reception needed some training about quest experience as there were often very blunt and rude, they did really explain any details of the hotel (such as the breakfast, how to access the roof terrace or about the wifi). In the room there was no tea or coffee making facilities, considering the room looked like it had been refurbished in the last few years there was no USB charging points (or USB-C) charging points which seems short cited. The desk was too small to work or use a laptop on. The lights on the TV were incredibly annoying when you are trying to sleep with no way of turning them off. Some reviews have commented about loving the pillows but this was not the case for me. They were awful and really ruined by nights sleep. The breakfast is a box full of prepacked dry cakes and sandwiches. There was a lot waste plastic, and little thought given to local taste and experiences. Maybe offer the breakfast box or a buffet Recommendations for the hotel: Tea/coffee making facilities in the room, training the front desk staff, the art work thoughout the hotel is very bland and doesn't really give you any representation of Cologne.

A friendly, well - run small hotel. Very quiet location despite being 5 minutes walk from the main station. Excellent, first class breakfast with fresh eggs and bacon cooked to order if requested. Small rooms, but this is an older, town centre building so that’s only to be expected. The only down side, and it’s a purely personal one, is that I suffer from a back back, and - not typical for Germany - the beds are quite soft. The mattresses are fine but they have sprung bases rather than slatted, and that makes the bed too soft for me.....! I wonder if they have rooms with harder beds, or if they could provide a ‘bed board’? But if you like a softer bed, you’d love it.

Having been to several German cities we knew what to expect from the Casa Colonia. Very friendly people, fantastic service and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. The location is excellent giving us the option of walking through town or along the river. Breakfast was very good. A selection of healthy cereals, fruit, nuts and pro biotic yogurts, along with bacon, eggs, bread and cold meats. All washed down with proper barista made coffee. We were in Cologne at carnival time and the whole city was very busy. After a long day walking around the city we looked forward to the comfy surroundings of the Casa Colonia. Its a pity there was no lift. We were on the 4th floor. 94 steps up, yes I counted them! In fairness we knew there wasn't a lift before we booked as it has been well publicised but we were unlucky to be on the top floor. Its also a shame there wasn't a safe in the room. I cant remember the last place we stayed that didn't have a safe. I spoke to reception and we could leave things in the hotels safe, but chose not to. We ended up carrying our passports and wallets around with us all day every day. Not an ideal situation. The city is very safe and we didn't feel that we would be pickpocketed, and the hotel also felt extremely safe, however my insurance company would probably pay out if I were a victim of street crime, doubt they would do that if my valuables were left in a hotel room. A room safe makes such a difference. We paid 200 Euros a night. Certainly not cheap, probably due to the carnival. For this we would have expected things found in other hotels like a shower cap, or little bottles of shampoo and conditioner. The sort of things most hotels charging that sort of money would provide. There was a fridge with a few bottles of water and soda in. But they had to be paid for so we didn't drink them. I have rated this hotel as average and yet it is far better that average. The room safe ,no lift and a lack of the little things in the bathroom takes points away from what is a terrific hotel in a great location.

This hotel is 2 minutes away from the subway station, but not next to the Central Railway Station. It is a 15-minute walk from the Central Railway Station. It is a long way to go through a Middle Eastern shopping street. It will feel a little uncomfortable at night, and there are no commercial places around It is far away from the commercial land, which is inconvenient. The commercial shopping mall is more than 20 minutes. The building is designed as a two-circle room with an inner barrel. It has an industrial sense. This is not suitable. The rooms are large and warm! Okay. Bathtub

The room is 10 square meters in size and the entrance is the bed. There are hot water bottles and slippers, this is a good hotel in Europe! I took the child, but the room was too small to accommodate an extra bed. Only three people are crowded. The quilt doesn't know if it is a German character. It is only a small strip about 1 meter wide. Fortunately, it is summer. It doesn't matter. Very close to the central train station, 5 minutes away. Every day, the apples at the front desk can be eaten casually, very good!

Breakfast is average, variety is okay, there is no omelette for making omelette, fool! Almost all cold, the orange juice is not as good as on the plane, and the bread and sausages are not bad. Don't talk about the service, it's pretty bad. The first few people are all noisy, red ears and red ears, just to charge more! No matter what country people are noisy, this is what happened. It ’s raining all day, just ask if there is an umbrella in the room, say no, there is nowhere, not even the front desk, everything is right, which is a 5 star hotel?

If it wasn't for the elevator that seems to be permanently out of order (or at least for a very long time) and the (almost) non-existent reception service, I would definitely rate this hotel much higher - because the rooms are spacious, nice looking and clean, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are not bad either. But everything seems to be left in the void and all the quality is just a remnant of the once much more glorious past when this was a Mercure hotel. OK for a short stay, but with too many compromises - hardly compensated by the nice prices. Including the tagged with a price bottle of mineral water in the room that was actually half-full and nobody cared to do anything about it. And the slow and weak wifi. But at least they clean and change everything regularly.

I wanted to do simple city trip in the best economic way .no planning at all , As Single traveller.took ECE fast train from Amsterdam-Köln. Arrived 2,5 hours later and start to navigate walking to Nuemarkt (long walk) next time take Lime step . In street around there found A&O Older building but inside the lobby simple but nice! Coffee takeaway / tables for game or internet tv screen , Snacks to eat it’s al there . I was happy. Friendly youngster logged me in the system I get a door opening card a number room and direction explained friendly ! I brought only small backpack. I was in a 4 person room with toilet and separated shower al clean. I checked the room. No safe space to leave my small bag in the room. So I took it out with me sightseeing the city. For big suitcases the had a storeroom at lobby. For small stuff a safe with a key under the bed .key to rent at lobby. in the night after city visit it was day and night walk in the lobby . And snacks or coffee available. I had to be silent others maybe slept allready in my room. I climb up the bed one stock high. And had a wonderfull sleep. I felt safe here. In the morning my other companions strangers waked up separately. And we socialize a bit. The diffrent languages. And use shower toilets etc give eachother space. I left to the restaurant for the breakfast 9,50 extra. The foods where good international breakfast bread 🥖 serial coffe tea fruits all was enough for everyone. Youngster schools teachers older travellers all was eating on small and large tables. It’s a very good way to see köln and save money to go to this simple but clean Hostel . I recommend the use of a Lime step ( roller ,scooter) I used the app to download and my payments by PayPal. Or u can use any typ of prepaid(creditcard) The step scooter 🛴 Lime or other brand have nothing to do with A&O hotels. It’s or own responsibility to use, But it’s a great way to see Much More of City Köln ! I visit for example my favorit MUSICSTORE Köln for as you love to play instruments ! Köln is a very safe city but be responsible for your belongings yourself! I felt much more safer then Amsterdam for example. Happy travel everone ! Enjoy A&O Hotel Forget Expensive safe money to spend in the beautiful city. Foods and restaurants are really cheap and the food is the best in Germany 🇩🇪.

The good thing about booking with Holiday Inn is that you know exactly what you are getting in advance. No surprises caused by internet photos that look nothing like reality. This hotel is modern, comfortable and has decent service. The location is a little inconvenient, though there are plentiful public transport connections by tram and bus / metro. The tram stop is 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The bus stops just a couple of minutes away. You can get to Cologne central station in between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on the route you choose. Breakfast is decent and is included in the rate.

Pro: - Big room with four windows which you can open (we had the outer ring) - Nice theme, the space flight in the lobby and in the room details - Good shower with rain shower and nice shampoo & shower gel - Nice breakfast with view over Cologne Con: - A bit too little lights, it was hard to read on the desk - No more mini rides since Jan 1st, which was always nice to see the city surroundings differently - For the sauna access you need to do a COVID test, which is free for Germans but costs 15 euro for non Germans. We didn’t use it during our stay.

Run away from it. they do not honour prices, never seen an attitude like theirs. On Monday (Dec. 14 2020) I started browsing for a hotel in Cologne, Germany, and found a room at this Classic Hotel Harmonie with an attractive rate, before booking I contacted the hotel by phone to ask about policy regarding refundable rates, because due Covid, the city might have a lockdown and I would loose my payment. I told the employee I wanted to make a refundable reservation, either by phone or online, she gently replied to me that I should send an e-mail to the hotel informing the dates, name of guests and etc, and that another hotel staff member would contact me in order to inform about refundable rates. I did that, and she acknowledge receiving my e-mail, I replied to her asking if wouldn’t be better if I booked the hotel room right at that moment at the price advertised while waiting for them to check the refundable rates policy. She replied that there wouldn’t a need for that and that I should wait for the hotel staff return to me. Today (December 16 2020) I received an e-mail informing that due to a fair that will happen in September the new prices were 402,90€/day instead of the 77,70€ that were available on Monday. I immediately called the hotel, the first person I talked to wasn’t available and the new staff member told me that they didn’t know about the fair, and since I haven’t booked when I saw the good price they couldn’t do it right now, and she even told me that should I have booked on Monday, even so they would increase my price. this to me is greed and dishonesty. So I suggest all travellers try booking some other hotel, because this one might give you headaches.

Stayed for 1 night, two adults and 7yr old kid, and booked via LHW. Overall - wonderful place, old-fashioned feeling and very warm, attentative service. Before coming, we exchanged a couple of communications via email and they were responsive and detailed. Upon arrival we got triple upgrade - which I was really surprised, even we've booked via LHW / status tier. The room we got was amazing - very spacious, super design and unusual shape, with extra bed for the kid already arranged. Nice touches like free minibar and ultra quick room service with some home made sweets. Hotel interior was nicely decorated for festive season (also exterior as well, not just inside), with special attention to Ginger House at the lobby, where the kid got complimentary treats, as well as we bought back home traditional Stollen. Breakfast was good and included for LHW members, yet the room itself was very dark, with dimmed lights, which perhaps is nice for a dinner, but looks strange at the breakfast time. Food was mix of buffet and a la carte, high quality and great taste (incl their specialty dish). All at all - great and truly luxury experience, a bit overpriced due to special season, but nevertheless a beautiful stay, well relaxed and enjoyed. Would stay again if in Cologne.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. I actually can’t describe in words how kind the staff were in this hotel. When I got there I was really exhausted from my journey to this city, but the friendly greeting in this hotel immediately made me feel welcome! The guy who helped me check in was very friendly. When I booked the room throughout this website I made a request to have a quiet room. When I arrived in the room I could really see they were really thoughtful about choosing the room, because it was really quiet and far away from the other rooms, so you won’t hear the foot steps or doors slamming at night. Also wanted to thank the friendly guy who was working on the afternoon shifts (Thursday 2 September and Friday 3 September). He was very kind and patient whenever I would ask something. My English sometimes gets a little lost in the translation, but he didn’t made me feel rushed and took his time to understand what I trying to say. He is true gentleman! When I was ready to leave there was a lovely lady ready to help me with the checkout. What I really liked about her that she was not only polite, but also genuine and very kind! The room, where I was staying in, was also very clean. Which made me feel comfortable to stay in this hotelroom. I couldn’t wish for anything else during my stay. Please, if you are visiting Cologne and if you are looking for a nice hotel to stay in, I would definitely recommend this hotel!

We knew that reception opening time was till 22:00 and therefore i wrote, in the booking note, "late checkin, our flight will land at 21.25".  I thought that someone was waiting for us to checkin, it was just a matter of 30min. When we arrived, around 22:30, we found the door closed, we rang the bell, but nobody was answering.  We then tried to call the hotel emergency number, none answered. Worried abut the situation, it was night and we were on the street without any accommodation.  We then went into the restaurant beside the hotel entrance and fortunately we found a girl very kind to help us. She also tried to call the emergency number without success. After 5 calls, finally someone answered the phone, but unfortunately she was not able to speak English. I don't speak German, unfortunately, and I passed my phone to the girl of restaurant that talked to the girl from the hotel emergency number. She said that our code was 888, but neither us and the restaurant girl were able to find a pin pad to type this pin. The guy at the phone did not have an idea on where this pin pad could have been. After at least 20 minutes and other 2 calls, the hotel guy told us that the pin pad was in the street close to the ring bell, something really invisible, especially in the night. We finally got the key and entered our room. Together with the key, we got a welcome letter. Unfortunately it was in German and therefore we were not able to read it. Is it a good welcome? When we entered the room, we immediately noticed that it was not very clean and the bathroom even worse. The wc was really dirty (see pictures). We also noticed that a lot of long hairs were on the room/bath floor and on the table. We also found long hairs on bed sheets (see picts). Only half roll of toilet paper was available. We could not fix our issues because in the meanwhile the restaurant closed and if we had called the hotel emergency number, we would not have been able to communicate. The following day, we talked to the receptionist and he really apologized for what happened. He also changed our room, fortunately. We have finally asked for a late checkout for the next day, since our flight is at 22:00. We requested checkout at 18:00 and expected an immediate positive answer, after all problems we had, but the receptionist said that had to ask the boss. After a couple of hours we asked again and she said that we need to wait for tomorrow morning for his answer. The next day, late checkout was denied because the cleaning staff had to clean (?) the rooms. While leaving the hotel, we saw the bed sheets were left (during cleaning service) on the floor ... without any protection and we fully understand why the bed sheets were full of hairs... Having the room not fully cleaned can happen also in the best hotels, but usually a good customer care can fix immediately the issues and maybe add something complimentary to the impacted guest, just to give a strong sign of sorry. We haven't received anyth

You cannot go wrong if you choose this hotel. It is steps from the Dom, Ludwig & Roman Museums and a 5 minute walk to the train station. I traveled alone and appreciated the safety of the area and did not have to walk long distances to get back and forth. My room was spacious and spotless. The friendly hotel staff speak English. The breakfast was very good. The offerings were a typical German breakfast with cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, granola. I did not have a view of the Dom, but a dramatic view of the Rathaus and Great St. Martin's and the rooftops of Cologne so I did not miss out on a view. I can't be more complimentary about the location. You are walking distance to the Altmarkt, Heumarkt and the Rhine. Note: even if you do not stay at this particular hotel, I would stay in one in close proximity. There are larger hotels at Neumarkt, but it is a bit of a walk (through the shopping district) to get the the Dom and the museums. I walked past some of the hotels on the other side of the train station (away from the Dom). These were more residential streets and as a I was traveling alone, I didn't like the feel of the neighborhood. My hotel location let me go see the Dom facade lit up and spend some time in contemplation of that magnificent building rather late. The wifi is an UNSECURED hotspot. It was hard to log on. If you really care about staying secure, make sure that you have a really good cellular plan. I am not sure if this is typical for German hotels.

The location is so near to Cologne cathedral, showing centre and the river as well as a good public transport hub. Movement around the hotel and the many facilities are well used by residents and visitors alike, but not overcrowded. I would like to tell about the case I met with this hotel. it terrified me and all the situation with attitude is very much strange and not acceptable. Our booking in the hotel Dorint An der Messe Köln from 29.02.2020 to 04.03.2020 was made in the website booking.com on 27 December 2019 with the tariff "early bird" which supposed some advanced prices as far as i can understand it. The full amount of 3 492 Euro was taken from my card on 29.12.2019 as it was partly refund tariff ( 10% could be possibly returned). The hotel is situated practically in the territory of Koelnmesse, in other words, a place for the fairs. So, the only purpose people ever stay in this hotel is to take part in the fair, not the sightseeing of Cologne, which is far away and absolutely not convenient to stay. We planned to take part in the fair EISENWARENMESSE. The first unpleasant thing happened when i checked the booking.com website in February just to see what the prices for this hotel is now. To my upper surprise i saw an astonishing change of price, the same 2 rooms, for the same 3 people for the same dates were 2,952 EURO!! I wrote the email to the booking.com and got the reply that after our stay we can get this difference because i proved it with the facts. The only thing we had to do was to stay in the hotel! BUT! You all know the problem with corona virus which happened unpredictably and nobody expected it. The EISENWARENMESSE was postponed to the same dates but in 2021, in a year time. The fair tickets are valid for the next year fair. And accordingly we asked the hotel to postpone our hotel rooms which were paid already to the same period next 2021 year. It seems very reasonable as the Air companies refunded the flights tickets without any charge. BUT! The hotel refused to do it, not to refund the payment, but to postpone the same booking to the time of the fair in 2021. What we could get is 10% of the 3 492 Euro payment!!! we consider this situation very unfair and the stuff of the hotel to whom we applied not friendly and not flexible. We will never stay in that hotel though we visit the fair in Cologne every year. It is terrible that the hotel got the money for nothing, they had our money for 2 months and didn't want to refund in this situation when all the world if struggling the virus and trying to be flexible in many ways. It is up to any person to take its own decision to stay or not in this greedy and deaf people ruled hotel.

I have been coming to koln Xmas markets for 12 years and stayed at the Dorint an deer Messe , this year we switched to the Dorint an der Messe. What a mistake. The hotel location is great for serving the town and the Xmas markets but the hotel staff were the worst I have ever experienced. 1.The beds were never made for the three nights we stayed even after informing the staff after the first day , we were informed that a button on the door told the cleaning staff not to disturb apparently this had been pressed ? Not informed so after day one we told reception staff we would like our rooms cleaned for the remaining two nights , this never happened the floor was never Hoover and the beds never made we have photos of this . Following a discussion with reception staff they also confirmed that they would photograph and raise a complaint on my behalf again reception staff were not very accommodating or helpful. Also there are no toiletries in the room this needs to be asked for at reception along with the mini bar (we only found this out by a fellow guest being told from a departing guest) 2.The checking staff were not very helpful or informative as we had experienced at the Dorint an der Messe and this was the reason we have revisited the Dorint chain for 12 years. I understand COVID has brought many problems and rules in to play at hotels but this particular hotel did not help by the lack of courtesy that is shown at their sister hotels . Their attention to detail went amiss and given that we complained to the duty manager (really a supervisor)

Booked this place for a 4 day business trip. When I read the reviews (after booking!!) I feared the worst.. but it was clean, the bed was comfy, the shower was good, and the staff were nice. Pros: good breakfast, good WiFi, clean room, shower (to suit tall person), good housekeeping (towels, toilet paper etc), fridge and TV, helpful staff, bed comfortable, no street noise, Lidl 5 mins away, nice restaurant (scampinos) 850m up the road. Cons: no dinner on site, bar not open, no ice for room drinks (shell garage 10 mins walk away has it), shower drain slow to clear, air con not always effective (found it a little stuffy at times), bit of a trek to train station, in-room safe didn't work, slightly scruffy area of town. Overall if you are expecting crap, it's really good. If you are expecting amazing it is sub-standard. I was in town for work, and my room ended up being the thing I looked forward to, because i thought it was going to be terrible, so i was pleasantly surprised!! Also I was commuting to and from dusseldorf, and the train system is mental unless you use the high speed ICE train which is pricey as hell.

Standed here for 3 days during Gamescom. Typical Italian hotel - paintings, mirrors, interestingly decorated corridors. The rooms themselves are already old - the carpet was erased, the soap holder was broken in the bathroom. There was no air conditioner in the room, but lucky with the weather and that didn't prevent. The night had to close the windows, though the street is small, but cars are driving, people are walking. But the room is really huge. The closet, the hangers, the beds are comfortable, we have perfectly slept after a hard day on the feet at the exhibition. Breakfasts are good, everything was enough. On the corner (if you get out of the hotel, then right to the 50-100) there is a great Chinese restaurant. If you cross the road and continue, there in one quarter of Wapiano, in the evening it was possible to eat quietly. From Gamescom it is, of course, far-wat, on foot you will not get. It is necessary to go minutes 10-15 to the metro-electric station and from there to go 2 stops. There is no shopping nearby, 20 minutes walk to the center where all the shops are. To the big supermarket 10 minutes walk. In general, the hotel is a little off the main roads, but quite acceptable.

It was a very clean hotel. Our room beds are shiny. Workers like the Gulery helper. Location is less far from the centre but 10 minutes by walking. We haven't already walked everywhere. I recommend.

I've choose this hotel because of the location, the view and the reviews. I was surprised that when i arrived, during my check in no one mentioned small fact that the hotel decided to repair their aircon system (MID of August!!) so the AC dont work in the rooms. I discover that when i wend up and they left a letter on a table. I could not open the window as it was facing the road direction. Our agent reach out to them and we managed to agree to move to their other Leonardo hotel in the city, we rushed back to the hotel to discover that actually that was a mistake and there are no rooms available. as a compensation they moved us to the other side ( facing the lake) to be able to open the windows and offer a dinner. I dont think that was enough, not working AC is a major thing which need to be written at a stage you order the hotel and definitely mentioned when you check in to the hotel. There were other items with the first room i got such as the fact it was not clean and very old, but compare to the other issue that was minor. Its a shame, this hotel has the potential but they really need to step up, i wont say its a 4 star hotel.

As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I felt the enthusiasm of a grandfather who helped parking and deliver luggage. He introduced a lot of things in Cologne to us. It really helped us a lot. I did n’t eat breakfast when I saw it. I can see it directly in the room. The clone cathedral is still very good. The air conditioner is easy to use. On such a cold day, the air conditioner is still warm. After staying for three days, the free water was only given for one day. Finally, I paid an extra 25 euros to get it back.

We booked the hotel having read rave reviews and found the location perfect for our stay. The hotel presented well, we were warmly welcomed and the reception staff were accommodating and helpful. We used the hotel parking which was fairly expensive but secure. We also used the pool and sauna which were welcome in the winter weather. Everything was nice until the last day and the girl on reception who was unfriendly, cold and barely helpful. Her attitude made us feel we were bothering her with our simple questions. Such a shame to have this as our last experience. The only thing to add was our no smoking room smelt of smoke when we arrived and the 4th floor rooms and corridors showed many signs of water damage that hadn’t been attended to. All in all a nice hotel and nice staff (mostly) but I would class this a 3*+ and not boutique.

We stayed several times at A&O hostels when we travel to Germany. Good locations, good breakfast, good price/quality and child friendly. So is this ho(s)tel. We booked a family room. A nice and large room. But the communication didn't go well. We asked during our reservation a baby bed for our 11 month-old baby. We had to contact A&O several times and via different ways before we received a confirmation. Nevertheless, at our arrival, a baby bed wasn't at our room. It took some time before they find a baby bed. Certainly because there were often long queues at the reception. The linnen was the next problem : they couldn't find any fitting linnen. Again waiting. The bathroom floor was dirty (hair, dust). The heating not working well (also noted by a employee however not fixed during our stay). Not ideal with a baby...  But I gave up. The staff did their best, but they seemed understaffed. The person at the reception had to do everything. I had compassion everytime I had to ask for the luggage room key (because the family room was at the third floor and there was no elevator for thee baby car).  It was not our best stay at an A&O. The price rise a lot during the christmas market period; maybe the management can use this extra profit for extra staff during busy periods...

For my first trip to Cologne, my one-week stay at AMERON was delightful, so I hope I will be a returning guest soon! The hotel's location is perfect for catching different public transport means quickly and efficiently. The room was well-lighted, spacious, great for relaxing but also working, and had a pleasant modern warm aesthetic. The restaurant had delicious quality food (breakfast selection was very diverse, dinner too was always tasty), "served" with a stylish and cozy atmosphere. The hotel's staff as well as the restaurant's staff were very friendly and had a lot of benevolent patience with my rusty German speaking skills! Communication was easy, professional, but also comfortable, in both German and English. Very happy with my choice, my heartfelt thanks to all the staff!

I visited the hotel during busy exhibitions days. The city was Jam packed and hotels fully booked.I found this hotel at a acceptable price.A single room with Breakfast was sufficent to pass my day. The Hotel was 15 min walk from Dom/central station.Busy area.Near to Grocery store and restaurants. The Hotel room was extremely small and small washroom just to fit in. Bed and Quality of sleep was below Average.Front desk staff was cooperative and even warmed my food.Lobby was of few square feets. In the morning Breakfast was acceptable with cereals and boiled eggs.Nothing extra ordinary..If i could have visited Koln in normal days i would have never booked this Hotel due to Size of room and facilities. If you find better option at a little more price go for it..

Cologne City Center
I only have 1 night here so I shouldn't be complaining. Yes, the room I had (single) is small compared to the other hotels that I have stayed in, but then this hotel is located right on the fringe of Cologne's old town shopping strip. It's convenient for it's a short walk from everything......food, railway, public transport (trams) and shopping. Rooms are clean, basic but small. Amenities provided are also basic. There is no coffee in the room, something that would be nice. Check-in staff friendly and very efficient. From the time I walked into the front door, it was probably less than 8 minutes before I was seated on my bed. The staff were cheerful and extremely friendly and helpful too. All in all, a recommended place to stay.
