|6.79km from city centerThe Sachsenpark Hotel at the Leipzig Messe can point with its direct motorway connection. The windows are soundproof enough to not disturb the traffic on the neighbouring A14. The house has certainly been on the buckle for a few years, what you look at him here and there. In total, however, good 4-Sterne-Niveau. Unfortunately, because of the short stay I could not use all the possibilities of the hotel - especially corona-restricted. Maybe at the next visit :-)

Teppich alt mit vielen Flecken. Ins Badezimmer sind wir nur mit gemischten Gefühlen gegangen. Die Abtropfkante an der Wannentrennwand ekelig, der obere Abfluss am Waschbecken verschimmelt, der Gipfel war der Griff des Föns. verklebt und dreckig - wir haben den Fön noch nicht einmal angefasst! Da wir nur 2 Nächte gebucht hatten, haben wir darauf verzichtet ein anderes Zimmer zu nehmen, zumal uns mitgeteilt wurde, dass an diesem Abend kein Reinigungspersonal (anscheinend Fremdfirma!) mehr anwesend wäre, aber uns versichert wurde die Mängel gleich an nächsten Morgen zu beseitigen. Leider Fehlanzeige, als wir Nachmittags zurück auf‘s Zimmer kamen, war es noch genauso wie wir es verlassen hatten. Dies soll ein 4 Sterne-Hotel sein! Die Betten sind sehr tief und man schläft sehr unruhig auf den harten etwas ausgelegenen Martatzen. Sehr kleines TV ohne zusätzliche Funktionen wie z.B. Text. Das Personal war zurückhaltend freundlich. Das Frühstück war allerdings sehr gut. Trotzdem werden wir hier nicht noch einmal übernachten.

However, when using the sauna, it's essential to turn off the light in the bathroom = because otherwise the airing will always come cold into the sauna, so it really frozes! Nice staff at the reception, but you have to say exactly what you want = then you get a printed plan with a way to the supermarket. The apartment was very spacious and clean, but we missed a oven. The care products have proved to be the remainder of the predecessors (see photo). And the cable from the fence over the clown is not even unhygienical but only awful (see photo) And in the garden behind the house we saw a rat on the second day and on the third day 2. I don't know what happens if you're there 5 days... Seriously: there should be the owner of the hotel of the rat plage to become the Lord at the fastest; especially as many guests leave the door open from the staircase to the garden and the beasts go into the house...

|0.71km from city centerThis place is a joke. First, try to find it. Signage is less than minimal. Hopefully, you can figure it out with others who already have or who are also searching for the place. Next, take a nondescript elevator to the 6th floor. If you come after the sun goes down, note that the lobby with the elevator is quick dark, very poorly lit. Get off the 6th floor and turn right. If you come at check in time, be prepared for the line of over a dozen others waiting to check in. They will not check in anyone before three. Nope. Won’t do it. After a half hour, we were directed to our room on the third floor, right above the intersection. Great view from a large window facing the university and Old Town directly to the west, but ah, these are the two big problems. First, the noise of trams, trucks, and then every ambulance in the city must be required to pass through this intersection! Second, summer heat makes the room an oven. One window will open a bit, maybe 10 cm, but don’t get your hopes up for much natural air. We figured the noise would eventually die down, but it didn’t, especially ambulances on a Saturday night. So eventually we closed the window and curtains. That helped contain the noise but then the heat hit us. We failed to find much sleep in our sweat. Ah, but the air conditioner! Try as we might, we failed to get the A/C to work, nor any fan for ventilation! About daylight, we finally slept, only to miss our planned Bach Festival event that morning. Groggily, we tried to get to the reception desk to discuss this issue, but, mind you, the elevator up to the reception does not stop at the third floor. Only down. So this senior citizen had to take the first of four climbs up those stairs to reception on the 6th floor. I asked for a refund for the second scheduled night. It was refused. “We can’t do that. Only Expedia can. You need to call them.” Also, “You can’t get air conditioning in your room because there is none. Hotels in Germany don’t have air conditioning.” And portable fans are not provided either apparently. I called Expedia. They said that, of course, the hotel can refund the payment for the night. Expedia called the hotel. Then spoke with me I returned up the four flights of steps to get my refund. Nope. They refused to refund. But they did provide another room that did not face the street. Ok. We took it. They even provided a bottle of wine, and we slept well that second night. The next morning at check out, the manager asked why we hadn’t turned on the air conditioning…and of course, Germany has air conditioning. And no, the hotel would not be able to refund an unused night as requested. We loved Leipzig! But beware of this joke of a place.

|0.91km from city centerThe location was perfect and the price was suitable for me. There was enough USB and power outlets for everyone. There was also a mirror and a place to hang clothes (e.g. jackets). There were also a fewer hangers than the people in the room but it was ok during my stay; only one other person and myself used them. There were also 6 locker compartments, which was very useful, but you have to buy your own lock. You can buy it from the lobby but in my case they were out of stock so I bought from Rossman, and thankfully I still had time to get one before they close. So, it's better to buy your own lock and use it in your travel. However, being in an 8-bed room with others meant that the toilet was not always clean because of different people using it, having different standards, and the smell in the room was not very good and needed ventilation and something to protect others when someone in the room is sick. So, I would suggest putting leaflets and using controlled rules. Also, the one who used the bed before me has left the pillow and blanket unorganized and with his own dirty cover, so I had to remove them and tidy them before putting mine. I believe, these should be cleaned and tidied up before me. Also, the heater's knob had no numbers so I couldn't know on which level it is. Also, the attitude of the first person I met at the reception desk was not very good at the beginning, but afterwards I didn't have to talk deal a lot with them. I wouldn't recommend a&o's App for usability, but I used to check-in while on the way. However, when I arrived, it was difficult to use the self check-in terminal. It prints a paper with my room number asking me to confirm it, but how do I know the room number in the first place before checking in?? also, whoever used it before me had not taken his printed receipt, so when I had to take the paper, I took also this receipt, with amounts that are not mine, so it was confusing. When I went to the reception clerk and asked him, he first misunderstood and started the checkin based on that wrong receipt. When I started to notice that, I told him (again) that this receipt is not mine, so he asked me (with quiet frustration) ”then why are you showing me this?” and then asked me for my ID to proceed with my check-in. Of course, it feels very bad when he blames me, but also they should be better listeners and need to pay attention to the usability of the self check-in scenario in the App as well as the terminal.

What we liked very well: every day all staff* from all departments such as kitchen, reception, service, etc. are together to talk to each other for a short breakfast break. This is how communication works beyond its own field, strengthens the sense of communion and facilitates cooperation - which ultimately benefits guests. This is how the mutual works, please continue! The breakfast buffet is beautifully decorated and offers something for every taste. The cocktails at the bar are really delicious and the pizza is also good taste. The rooms are bright and friendly furnished, with large, sound-sluring window fronts. I have extreme back problems, but I could sleep very well in the comfortable beds. The bathroom is also as modern and skillful, with large mirrors and cornery washing basins as well as sufficient depots. There is nothing used here and you feel just well. Because of my round birthday, we received a room upgrade to a great suite at our second visit. This was notably larger, had a box, bathroom and toilet room are separated here. Very pleasant, especially when you are too second. At this point again my sincere thanks for this wonderful gift!!! (Just good that nobody saw how we were gratified and how children jumped around). We will certainly come back, I'm looking forward to it 😘

The kitchen line features a water cooker, a microwave and a 2-Zonen-Kochfeld with a dishwasher. We had booked a Studio Executive room for our 2-day stay. However, we were surprised that we had found the room differently as advertised on the homepage and therefore booked. So we had a disabled room. Also here the bathroom was different from the picture on the homepage. On our demand on the day of departure we were informed that most of the larger rooms were disabled. The reference on the homepage “View the city” was not allowed. We had in the 2nd. The floor only looks at a concrete wall with a small indoor courtyard. We would have been happy if we had been told at check-in. However, it is a nice hotel.

In the hallway, you sometimes hear other people's voices, but you can't hear any sounds that I think are great in the neighbors of the room. However, I have to deduct a few points for the cleanliness. Eating residues on the dish as well as cook residues on the kitchen line. Unfortunately, there were also div in the bathroom. For example, points to be clearly seen at the door.

|0.11km from city centerIch hatte ein Einzelzimmer, habe aber die Vorzüge des Hostels sehr genossen - gut ausgestattete Küche mit Kühlschrank, alles sehr durchdacht, junge, urbane Atmosphäre, Lounge und Raucherbalkon haben tolle Aufenthaltsqualität und die Einrichtung ist insgesamt äußerst geschmackvoll und wertig, bis hin zum Bad. Mein Zimmer wäre nichts für Lärmempfindliche gewesen, aber da gibt es sicher noch andere. Die Lage könnte besser nicht sein, quasi am Markt, fußläufig zum Hauptbahhof, Supermarkt und Bäcker um die Ecke. Ich komme sicher wieder!

Big rooms with king size beds,small table and 2 chairs. Free water and pop in the mini fridge, safe in room. Shower is odd, it has translucent glass that is visible from the side of the bed. Some rooms have the shower door open up right into the bedroom. Shower also does not have any shelves for your personal products, making it really hard. We had a shower plumbing backup which the fixed quickly. We were able to get the last spot in the garage, it is quite small but does have 3 electric charge bays. parking can be a challenge. Front desk spoke fluent English

|5.6km from city centerWe are guests multiple times (real 4 times in 2019) at Novum Hotel Am Ratsholz, since we live in Leipzig family. The apartments are large, conveniently furnished, actually very clean. There is a bedroom, a living room with additional sleeping possibility - if necessary. A table, 2 chairs, a sofa, seat, desk, TV, various lamps - all available. A small kitchenette with refrigerator, 2-Platten-Kochmfacility, washing with closet supplements the room. Wi-Fi is inclusive - but yes according to location of the apartment the connection is not provided. Parking in the surrounding area is rar, shopping opportunities are available in the house. We have already found more often that the outflows in the bathroom spread a unpleasant smell. But at our recent stay, this was an insupportable smell of cloake. Even after long water-running-lassen, the smell did not go away. You had to close the doors between bathroom, hall and living room to be able to sleep at all at night. You should really clean the outflow pipes more regularly - an insupportable condition. Unfortunately, this disgusting smell was so dominant that we are likely to look for another hotel in Leipzig in the future. After days, you still had the smell in your nose....... I was unfortunately not able to defect this at the reception because of public transport - damage ....ich was not asked, whether we felt well and were satisfied.

Although served in a rather cramped ground floor area, the breakfast buffet was impressive and got us off to the right start for seeing the city: central Leipzig is compact, architecturally fascinating and full of life. It is becoming more and more common that central reservations do not do their job across a number of chain hotels and here they badly let down their hotel team and ourselves with our group visit. Tardy if ever replies to emails, sneaky hidden small print in contracts stating that rooms would only be serviced every other day! Why would anyone accept this? It's a false economy that can only resuly in customer dissatisfaction. It is bad enough for us to reconsider whether we would use this hotel again. This is such a shame as the hotel is really good. Middle management should give equal attention to client satisfaction as they do to cost savings and learn to reply to enquiries promptly. The reception staff are variable: some are great and efficient others are scruffy and careless. If you are going to issue them with a uniform, make sure that they wear it smartly and represent the hotel well. There is no car parking (but it is in central Leipzig) and coach parking is problematical. The Good Recently refurbished to a good standard Good sized rooms Great breakfast Great location. I would have loved to have given this hotel four stars but can not because of central reservations. Still they can be proud that they saved some money on not servicing client rooms. It is very frustrating to see what should be a fantastic hotel spoiled by offsite people who do not care

|0.83km from city centerDue to a cancelled flixbus, we arrived at the Hyperion Hotel at 1 am dead tired to leave the next morning early. The checking in process was sluggish and the hospitality of the guy that helped us was not so kind. Finally we got the room but Immediately after we arrived in the room we got a message from flixbus that the bus would leave in 10 minutes. We immediately rushed back downstairs and the receptionist who had checked us in 10 minutes earlier. He assured us that no money would be deducted and he would send me a confirmation via e-mail - which I did not receive. Now, almost a month later, I see that the amount has been debited anyway. Since I thought there should be a mistake, I e-mailed for clarification. After several calls and emails I finally I got someone on the phone telling me that the bed was ”used” and they could therefore not resale the room that night. This simply is a lie, there was no time at all to use the bed. After several attempts to get in contact now the manager offered us a 50% refund. What a sad policy, where I should pay for the false promises of this hotel. This kind of business is ruining a nice city like Leipzig. Making profits on the backs of poor students, if that is really your business idea then you deserve to get an honest review: I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
