Staying for two days on business, I feel very good. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The location is also very close to the No. 4 tram, which can be directly connected to Zurich HB. The curly-haired little brother at the front desk is very good, help write the route. If you go again next time, you should choose this one.

While we only spent one night in the hotel on our way home to the USA, I would definitely return. It is exactly what I had hoped for, a unique hotel, with lovely rooms with a view of Old Town. Our room(34) was very comfortable, with a writing desk and an extra chair and table in the room. Our breakfast this morning was perfect. Fresh Juice, Meats, Salmon, and a couple cappuccinos we were ready to go. This hotel should have a 4 or 5 star rating My favorite part of my the stay were the lovely accommodating staff that helped with printing our travel documents, and provided great service at check-in, checkout, and breakfast. After all, it is the people that make for a great experience. Thank you Hotel Florhof.

The hotel is very close to the city centre and can be reached in 5 to 10 minutes on foot. The room was large and we booked two triple rooms, one for the double sofa bed and the other for the single sofa bed. Although the hotel is close to the road but above the road, it is quite quiet. The breakfast is plentiful and the environment is good, with a small garden.

I loved this hotel. The location is central to all the sites. A friend and I stayed there; each in a single room. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, charming, spacious, clean and well lit! I stayed on the 4th floor on Muhlegasse and my friend on the 2nd facing a court yard. The staff was wonderful from check in to check out. A special thank you to Kris at the front desk! He was very sweet and helpful! I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again when in Zurich.

A great boutique hotel in old town Zurich. 6 minute walk from Zurich HB train station after our flight into Zurich. Front desk staff Sam was extremely helpful and very polite, spoke English very well. Very clean hotel completely updated and this location is AAA for restaurants and bars, and is also quiet for a great nights sleep. Breakfast was ample to start our day. Coffee was great and a good selection of meats, cheeses, cereal and juice. The chocolate fondue machine at the entrance was really neat!

My wife and I recently spent a weekend in Zurich, we looked at a few hotels and picked the Sorrel Hotel Rutli , the price was reasonable for Zurich and had breakfast included, we had room 410 which was near the lift but we never heard it the room was basic enough but enough for what we needed. The hotel is positioned well being a short walk from the main train station and on a street with lots of eating and drinking places. We flew with Swiss Air, the flight was delayed by 40 mins on the way out and 30 on the way back, we also noticed that the baggage size was not adhered to and a lot of people had oversize bags which they struggled to fit into the overhead lockers. While we were there we took a trip to Rapperswil- Jona, we took the ferry down and got the train back. Rapperswil is a lovely town to visit and spend a couple of hours exploring, we took in the castle and the church of St Johan and the medieval streets. We also took a trip to Lucerne by train unfortunately the weather was poor for the first part of our visit but we didnt let that put us off sightseeing as we saw a lot of the old town and managed to climb the city walls and have a good walk along and climb the Museggmauer tower, we also got a nice soup and coffee in the Heini Conditorei near the train station. On Easter Sunday we went to Paddy Reillys pub and had the roast sunday dinner which was nice and the staff were nice and friendly. We also had a nice meal in an Italian restaurant on Zahringerstrasse, I cant remember the name but it used to be called Antico and had recently reopened after having new owners where we were served by a very nice young Italian girl. Where the hotel is there was a lot of works going on on both Zahringerstrasse and Niederdorfstrasse in that they seemed to be recobbling the cobbled streets. Zurich is a lovely city with a beautiful medieval area and is very clean but can also be very expensive, we were lucky when we visited the Kunsthaus museum that it was free entry on that day for the collection.

I randomly arrived in Zürich a few days ago without any hotel reservations. I soon discovered that the film festival was happening and many places were booked. After doing some searching online and on the hotel tonight app I stumbled upon Platzhirsch. I saw something online about some rooms not having a toilet inside the room, but hotel tonight did not mention that was a possibility and having had a bad experience recently booking through an online site and having things be not as they appeared online, I decided to walk to Platzhirsch to figure that out before booking. When I arrived I met Fabine, one of the front desk attendants and my new favorite front desk person, I explained things to her (and by this time the hotel tonight room was gone). She was very kind, agreed to let me sit down and use the WiFi even if I needed to book somewhere else, and ultimately made sure I got a decent rate on a superior room as I was traveling alone and the rates are normally for two people. Throughout my stay she gave me advice on the city and was just generally nice and very accommodating. I stay in hotels constantly, and thanks to Fabine this was one of my best hotel stays that I’ve had all year. The manager Siggy was also quite kind and accommodating when I wanted to extend my stay, shuffling things around so that I could stay in the same room despite the fact that they were almost fully booked with the film festival. One note, this is clearly a 3 1/2-4 star hotel (and the inclusive minibar is a nice touch). I have no idea why google lists this as a one star hotel (and trip advisor a 3 star). Booking directly even gives you free breakfast, which as costly as restaurants are in Zürich this is a big deal. My one minor note/request is that they add soft boiled eggs to the breakfast rather than just hard boiled. I stayed here for 4 nights (and again I’ve probably stayed in hotels nearly a cumulative four months this year), and that is my one minor note (though this is more than made up for by the fact that they offer fresh pressed juice as part of the breakfast; regardless of what other reviews say, I had one or two juices every morning and was happily accommodated by whichever employee I asked). This is a nice hotel with a fantastic location and well appointed rooms, but the staff really makes this place shine. I will certainly be back the next time that I’m in Zürich. Thank you again Fabine!!!!

You are a fantastic team who have accommodated all my plan changes, even when it was at a short notice due to flight cancellations etc. The place is spotless and much better than any hotel in Central Zurich. I don't even think about looking for any other place in the city. I always feel very welcome when I arrive even when it was late at night. The suites are modern, clean, specious and very comfortable. Elegant, older, well maintained, albeit a bit dated, the hotel is located directly across the street from the Zurich main train station and trolleys. If, as we did, you want to be within easy walking distance of the train station this is a great location. If you want to be in a very quiet location on or close to the lake, this is not where you want to stay. There is a small grocery store in the underground passageway to the train station. The hotel common areas are well-maintained, and it has a small bakery and bar that serves a very good dinner. There is a separate restaurant space on the second floor that only serves breakfast, and the food and the staff are excellent and it’s fairly priced. However, the hotel does not have a conventional restaurant. The lobby and rooms are small by american standards, but very quiet and well-appointed, have a good bed and the bathroom has a bath/shower combo with very good water pressure (and air conditioning). The small electric refrigerator in the room was set up as a mini-bar, but it was ok to remove the bottles. It does not get very cold. We were upgraded to a small suite with a sitting room, so I don’t know what a standard room would be like. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. There did not appear to be a concierge. The hotel allowed us to check-out 2 hours later, which we appreciated. All in all, a very good hotel for the price. However, if you’re looking for a very high-end american-style hotel, this may not be for you, but you should expect to pay two to three times more for those hotels

The location is very good, it is close to the city center, and there is a public tram stop nearby. But we are self-driving tours. There is no paid large public parking lot. The so-called parking lots shown on the mobile phone map are private or supermarkets. In short, he will not give you parking as soon as the supermarket closes. Payment is not paid or paid. But there is also a way to find the white ground line meter . on the street can be parked for free until 9 am, and then continue for two hours . In short, if you drive over, don't look like we stormed looking for a public parking lot in this area, you can't find it, put it on the street. There is no picky place to live. There is also a cute small terrace that is to study how to open the iron curtains for a while. It turned out that the switch was on the back of a wooden frame, not on the window. The cleanliness is high, the space is large, the cabinet is very beautiful, and it is also equipped with a dishwasher, which is very convenient. This is our dinner. Everything is good. If you want to be picky, the two cooking pots are not very useful. I hope to finish these small things. It will be perfect. Next time I come to Zurich, I will live in this room, because the check-in is simple, he will give you a password and press the password key at the door and fall off, and there is a lock at the gate, the whole seat is safer, there is also an elevator Don't worry about luggage . But on the last day, I have to leave and open this apartment and move to the hotel, because he has no luggage storage

I stayed for around 3 months as in international visitor during COVID lockdown in 2020 in one of the large rooms. The staff were all lovely, and the room was fantastic with a big, comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom with large bathtub, and separate living area with a large desk which enabled me to easily work / study while there. The location is great, close to the lively Langstrasse but far enough away to be very quiet! Very good for business travellers - just note that there are no kitchen facilities / fridge in the room (this is made clear in the room descriptions)! You have to be prepared for what you will get here: check-in at the counter of a busy convenience store, followed by a climb up a bunch of stairs. At the end of them, the room is extremely small, though very clean. We appreciated the small sink and refrigerator, as well as the free coffee on offer in the store. The worst thing about our experience was tremendous noise from some machine in the street at 2 in the morning — louder than anything I’ve ever heard in an urban setting before. Still, in the world’s most expensive city, the price felt like a bargain, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed in both the main hotel and in the guesthouse across the alley and were quite satisfied if both facilities knowing they been renovated within the last year. The main hotel is right around the corner from Zürich HB the rooms feature a nice private bath (new, big & clean) and nice modern styling. The guesthouse as new and stylish as hotels go, but the modular bath/shower unit with its semi-transparent blue glass leaves a lot to be desired when everyone in the room knows what your doing on toilet (very little privacy). We luckily are prepared and carry large binder clips and clipped a bath towel across the glass during our stay. The staff are amazing and extremely cordial. Free coffee/tea is offered 24/7 in the main hotel and on each floor. Guest house residents must go back across the alley to the main lobby. Day tour buses are right across the street for easy access. We would stay again definitely.

This is a hard review to write. 2 nights here. The hotel itself is fine. Tastefully refurbished, with a dose of quirkiness. We had two linked rooms, with a small sitting room and balcony (with a total non-view). Check in was polite and efficient. Breakfast was excellent, with high quality buffet and eggs cooked to order in front of you. Kept running out of fruit juice, however. Replenishment could be better. We were in the mid European heatwave, reaching 37C in the afternoons. When we first entered the rooms, the ”aircon” was on at full and incredibly noisy blast, yet the rooms felt very warm. I assumed they've just turned it on prior to our arrival. After a very hot evening out, I was relishing a cool bedroom to sleep in (having left the ”aircon” on whilst out). Arriving back, I was dismayed to find my room was 28C. I went down to reception, but the night staff were completely uninterested and unsympathetic. He said ”we don't have air conditioning, we have air movement”. I said it was utterly useless, and he said that the Swiss government had banned air conditioning. There was nothing he could do. I returned to my room and sweated the night away with no sleep whatsoever. I felt truly terrible in the morning. The morning staff were far more understanding and offered to put fans in the room, which did help but only slightly. This place is not remotely cheap (even for Zurich, where everything is at least 50% more than you would pay anywhere else), and especially the rooms we had. Tripadvisor shows aircon as an amenity for the hotel, and for this price I would simply take it for granted. To say aircon is ”banned” is patent rubbish, as we went into dozens of shops, bars, restaurants that were crisply cool. I checked the hotel's main competitors and all have full aircon. I did some research, and it seems the government are indeed making it difficult to put aircon into new builds and refurbs. Seidenhof needs to get lobbying, as these weather events are going to become much more frequent and nobody is going to pay its prices to stay in a hotel with no aircon. This ruined our stay in Zurich. If the Swiss government are serious about the environment, they should tax out of existence the nose-to-tail supercars that clutter Zurich's roads instead of targeting the one thing that makes living with climate change tolerable. Whilst they're at it, they should also ban plastic drinking straws (as in the UK), which do such terrible damage to marine wildlife.

We stayed here one quick night on an overnight layover. It is a bit touristy with a strong ”Zurich theme.” However, it was very comfortable and in a great location in old Zurich which is what we wanted. We arrived in the late afternoon and received chocolate welcome gifts upon check in. We took a guided walking tour of old Zurich that we had arranged separately and ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was pricey, and, again, probably not a place locals go, but we had good fondue and raclette. We had a much better experience than if we would have stayed at an airport hotel. We feel like we really visited Switzerland, if only for a night. Our room was spacious and comfortable. I wish we could have stayed longer.

The room is quite big and relatively new. The parking fee is 15 per night. It is very environmentally friendly. There are no disposable slippers and toothbrushes. The room is well soundproofed and clean. The location is not too biased.

Very nice and spacious rooms with a nice view of the city center and great location with closeness to all the places to shop, eat, boutiques and best access to the train station and stops. Breakfast was so nice with the staff who welcomed us and the reception area and service from Andre and Chantal were the very very best. Always willing to help us out and check in to see how were were doing, giving us great tips for going around the city and best places to find local foods and deals. Only wish that we could have stayed longer!
