Orea Hotel Voronez has to be the worst travel experience I’ve endured. Booked the room on Hotels.com and showed 4 available rooms. The person checking me in, Tomas, was angry I’d used Hotels.com as they were booked. I was advised I’d have a room with no air conditioning. Ok. Can live with that. But 1st floor room overlooked the main entry. So opening the window had a wonderful aroma of cigarette and diesel exhaust from the tour buses. The room was sparse. Basic. No kettle. No coffee maker. Nothing. Fortunately it did have towels. All night you could hear water flushing from the above rooms. It was quite calming to hear the whoosh of water being launched. Then the late evening tour bus arrival. So special. The sound of people stomping in the room above. It was also a handicap room, which I didn’t need. Breakfast was mediocre. Eggs over cooked. The two areas are unprepared to handle the flow of people from the tours. Very little for breakfast as compared to their other resort property I’ve stayed at. Couple all this with the hostility and anger displayed by Tomas during checking in, I’d advise staying elsewhere. This stay was truly disappointing.FromUS$99.00

I love places with good breakfasts, that's one of them. There's nothing better than getting up and having (almost) everything you may want. There are sweet options, there are salty, fresh fruits, milk and plant-based alternatives (soy, cashew, last year there also was almond), even sparkling wine. The rooms are spacious, beds/sofa beds comfortable, kitchenette clean and greatly equipped, bathrooms nice and clean with nice green tea shampoos, gels, and body lotion. Minor inconveniences - lots of carpeting which attracts dust, even though the hotel is very clean, the dust sits deep down there and I had an allergic reaction; also - it can be a bit noisy there but nothing unbearable. If you're traveling by car - there's free parking and it's not far away from the city center. If you don't have a car, then it may be a bigger problem. We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. I was attending a conference at the nearby Law Faculty, and the hotel had been booked for me by the local conference organisers. We had room 808, which was a good size room with a big bed and spacious bathroom. It was at the far end of the corridor through a glass door and right on the emergency staircase, which was very hot and stuffy. The room's air conditioning was fine up to a point - the hot afternoon sun on an day with above-average temperature turned the room into a sauna (despite all the curtains being closed), and even after several hours, the room had cooled down only a little bit. That was the one drawback to note. Breakfast was fine - good choice of hot and cold food, and drinks. Not an overwhelming choice - but we wouldn't have a full range of food options at home either, so it was nice to be able to vary our breakfast (I am responding to an earlier reviewer complaining about lack of choice). The restaurant was very nice for dinner. Overall, I'd be happy to stay here again. PS: the lift may be a challenge for you if you suffer from fear of heights (like me) as it is a glass lift on the outside of the building. FromUS$94.00

The Hotel is located near a shopping/supermarket centre and also 5 min walking away from tram 1&6. You can also easily walk into town centre in 20 min. There are quite a few interesting restaurants in the vicinty as well. We took a superior room since in our deal parking, access to fitness and breakfast was included. Worth it since it also gave us a room on the top floor. It was quiet, and had a fridge (i think all have that), coffee making facilities, slippers (!) and all have a small balcony. The breakfast was good, with a big selection of spreads typcially Czech as far as I can judge by now. Till now I never dared to try since they look like heart-attack material 😉. Otherwise the usual selection with very nice bread. The gym has a treadmill, a stepper and a rather big collection of weights. Its also quite big and overlooks the city. I didnt try the wellness area and bowling (!) , located in the basement. There is also parking in front of the hotel. The service was very friendly and helpful, you can also buy tram tickets at the reception. Only gripe I have is with the room heating. It seemed to run nonstop, the aircon controls had minimal influence on the actual room temperature,so we had to leave the windows open most of the time.FromUS$74.00

Really enjoyed our stay here, check in was easy, fast and efficient and the receptionist was really friendly and spoke great English (which saved us both from my pigeon Czech). Room was large, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Bathroom was huge and again was clean, well presented and was well stocked with shower gel, shaving kit etc (re-stocked daily). Bed was comfortable and the room was nice and quiet so slept really well. Location was great, we walked to Brno centre and all of the bars, restaurants and all of the sites that we wanted to visit straight from the hotel, although there is plenty of public transport available within the vicinity if required. The airport is around a €14 taxi ride away (download liftago app) and don’t miss the old Football stadium that is a two minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast was great, loads of choice and good quality. You’ve got a choice of two places to eat for evening meal. The hotel bar and the Grill bar next door and with the bowling pub it gives you three places to have a drink without leaving the complex.(which after really full days out we found to be a surprising bonus). Really enjoyed the food and beers at both and the portions at the grill bar are like something from man v food! All in all, didn’t know what to expect from Brno but absolutely loved our time here, lovely city, nice atmosphere, loads to see and do and had some great food and beers along the way (plenty of bars and restaurants). Couldn’t fault the hotel in any way, wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again and I think for the quality we experienced represents fantastic value for money.FromUS$47.00

I've stayed here frequently over the past six months, and for a business traveller it's great. Excellent location, more or less in the city centre. The rooms are not over generous in size, and on one occasion, travelling with my spouse, double occupancy for any length of time confirmed this. But for the sole traveller, ideal. The rooms are up-to-date, bright and cheerful, well maintained, and with excellent housekeeping. Plenty power-points, good wifi, comfy beds, and so on. Staff always helpful. Breakfast is a feast, not just in quality and quantity, but with a really imaginative range of food. But the highlight? You must sample the svestkove knedliky (plum dumplings) from the restaurant/bar. Food of the gods! I say no more.FromUS$88.00

Great from start to finish. Stayed here for two days to explore Brno, the hotel is a little way out from the centre of town on what looks like a bit of an industrial estate near the Velodrome. We arrived by car and arrival and departure were easy with good road access and good parking at the hotel (there is a charge for this). We were also very fortunate to get a room upgrade top an executive suite which was fantastic, with a separate lounge area and a lovely large bathroom with bath. Bed was extremely comfy and all the fixture and fittings were top notch. Reception staff, bar staff and those we meet at breakfast were all friendly and efficient. We used the public transport to access the centre of Brno (Hotel reception sold us a 25 CZK ticket that was valid for 1 hour) there is a bus stop near by which looked to have a frequent service to Mendlovo náměstí and then jumped on a tram for a couple of stops. We returned to the Europa for a two-night stay following an excellent experience there in 2018. Check-in was quick and easy and our room this time was on the top (fourth) floor up in the roof of the building. This meant we had no window but two skylights (fitted with blinds) allowed plenty of light into the room. The room was clean and quite spacious, with basic furnishings and a modern bathroom. It was slightly annoying that there was no powerpoint anywhere near the small desk in this room, so electronic devices had to be charged in less convenient spots in the room. Wi-fi was very stable and fast throughout our short stay. The location again worked well for us, we love this quiet residential neighbourhood and the excellent Tri Ocasi vegan bar/cafe across the road is a huge bonus for us! Sadly the hotel breakfast continues to have very limited vegan options, really just some pieces of fruit. We were again very happy with our stay at this clean, comfortable and quiet hotel just a short walk from the centre of Brno. For the price we paid (just 54 Euros per night), it continues to offer astonishing value for money.FromUS$63.00

Brno City Center
Awesome old throwback of a hotel with huge rooms and bathtubs, a fun counterpoint to typically tiny Euro rooms and shower stalls. The location is great for walking into the Old town, but as it’s right by the main rail and bus hub, after dark it was full of transients slumped in doorways, I think we actually saw an OD happen. If you stay here, definitely be aware of what and who are around you, don’t walk alone, and please don’t be the idiot with your wallet in your back pocket. Early dinners out are not a bad idea. The staff was ok - professional if not exactly warm - but their English was too limited to be a helpful resource. As Brno is a place without a lot of online English for info about museum hours, exhibits, etc, it would have been nice to have a helpful concierge to answer questions.

First, I’d like to say this hotel is in a great location. It looks very nice from the lobby. These are really the only pros. When we arrived in the room, the toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months and the water coming out of the faucets, shower and toiled was straight orange. When housekeeping came the following day, they did not vacuum, which I know because I accidentally spilled crumbs on the floor and tried to get up as much as I could. So I’m curious what they actually cleaned. Another issue was noise. We were on the 10th floor, and on Saturday night, I felt like there was an actual party in my room. I’m a heavy sleeper, so I’d keep this in mind when booking. Now for my main issue. And to say before you read the rest, this is more about dishonestly than the actual issue. If told up front, I would have had zero problems with this. I emailed the hotel when booking to ask about room charges for dogs, as the website says pets allowed, no restrictions. I didn’t hear anything back, so I figured there was no charge. we have always been told about charges prior to arriving. When I arrived, the lady at the front desk told me it would be £20 for the two dogs per night. I asked if that was total, or for each dog, as what she said was different than what was on the form. She said total. I wasn’t thrilled, but okay with it, since they told us as we were first arriving at least. When checking out, they charged us per dog, per night. I questioned this, as we stayed for multiple nights, so it added up very quickly and I was told differently. The woman at the desk pretty much said tough luck, and I questioned again that I was told in the check in differently. No apology for the mix up or anything. I was then told by the manager that she was a trainee and told me wrong and that I had to pay. I feel this is very wrong, since we specifically asked. I’m also frustrated that at every point of the process I was told/ not told something else, but that no one has stood by what they said other than charging us more money. I understand paying a fee for dogs. We bring our everywhere. I expected it, but I didn’t expect different answers and being charged double at the end of stay.

Small B+B close to the city centre, few minutes from bus and tram stop. Very peaceful place. The breakfast was tasty and home made donuts were fantastic. The housekeeper was friendly and helpful. Rooms are smaller, but enough to stay over night.

Brno City Center
This was our 2nd stay here with our first being in 2018. We love the central location in the old town close to shops, restaurants and museums. The cobblestoned roads are romantic. The breakfast is spectacular. Very nice bathtubs. The rooms are quiet. The rooms facing the vegetable market have a lovely view. Employees go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant.
