|11.31km from city centerNo frills but an all around pleasant stay during a family/business visit. The hotel has recently been refurbished and rooms are nice and well equiped. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel also offers excellent healthy breakfast options. Only gripe is the open bathroom layout which really is not my thing, especially when not traveling alone. There was a sliding door seperating the toilet/shower from the rest of the room but it offered little in terms of sound isolation. No reservations about recommending this hotel to fellow travelers and would stay here again as a solo traveler on a next trip to Santa Clara.

|3.11km from city centerThe room is clean and the surrounding facilities are complete. We happened to stay during the Christmas period. There was a light show on the stadium next to it. The festive atmosphere was strong and there were many people. Because the tickets were sold out, we could only watch it from the outside, which was a bit regretful.

|0.7km from city centerFortunately I only spent one night here. I was surprised by the lack of basic service and amenities: Before my arrival, I used the chat feature to ask about parking but never received a response. Upon arrival, the employee at the front desk was unfriendly and charged me for parking without my consent. I asked about parking, making clear I was trying to decide whether to park my car at the hotel or somewhere else. She told me it was $35 for in and out privileges, I asked how much it would cost to park directly in the lot (since I did not need to go in and out) and she said ”I think it's $22 but just bring me your ticket” in a pretty rude tone. I was taken aback by her tone so I did not continue to engage in the conversation and I did not respond confirming I wanted parking, expecting I would pay directly with the lot, and later learned she charged me $35 anyway, plus a $5 tax she did not mention. No acknowledgement of Marriott Gold status, no upgrade, no explanation. I don't know if I received a welcome gift. The air conditioning in my room was not working, and there was a comically large plastic fan next to the TV. When I arrived to my room at 10 PM it was 80 degrees, so the fan was useful but I feel like they should probably fix the air conditioning or at least warn the occupant that it's broken. I would not stay here again.

|8.39km from city centerEven during COVID-19 -- Marriott Residence Inn was a great stay! I always prefer to stay at Marriott Residence Inn when I travel -- because these rooms are ”mini condos” with bed, kitchen, living room, and laundromat. This stay was different -- I just wanted to have some quiet time from family during COVID-19. I'm on Weight Watchers -- so being able to bring + cook my own food worked for me when I didn't go out to eat. I was fortunate to get a room on the end -- so it was quiet which I liked. Usually this hotel room has plates, pots, pans, utensils -- all that you need in a kitchen -- but it was all taken out. I was glad to use my own plates, pans + utensils. Better safe. If I needed anything - hotel staff was just a phone call away. The hardest part was parking -- it was packed because we couldn't go anywhere during COVID-19 shutdown, even beaches were closed.

|5.13km from city centerVery good hotel, very sentimental, stayed six years ago, after six years, I feel consistently good, especially for people with petty bourgeoisie, basically can be a net red hotel, everywhere can take pictures. The location is also very good, recommend a place to stay in the Bay Area. Breakfast time is very human, usually until 10 o'clock, weekend to 11 o'clock, especially suitable for people who sleep late

|4.35km from city centerLocation is great near main roads/highways in/out of the area. Staff was super helpful in answering any questions, following through on requests, etc. (especially Linda, she is awesome). Has food locations on site (including Starbucks) and a small gift/supplies shop. Plenty of room, it's a good size venue. If anything, the decor and ambiance is a bit dated and needs updating. But the room was big, the mattress was comfy, and the view from upper floor was good. Good experience overall and would recommend for sure as an affordable option in the area. Note that it is a long way from Levi's Stadium, and you need to take either a car (don't recommend that because the parking/driving situation at the stadium is insane), Uber/Lyft (very expensive but it gets you semi-close, with some blocks to walk remaining), or light rail (very close by, super cheap, but very crowded).

|4.09km from city centerI was not expecting much for the price, with hot breakfast and parking included. I wanted a place that was reasonably clean and quiet and convenient, and walking distance to the medical center where a family member is recuperating. The mattress is excellent! The room is nicely laid out and spacious, with a fridge and microwave and keurig. I slept like a lamb. As somebody extremely sensitive to mold and chemical smells, I am glad to say the room smells like... nothing. No strong cleaning agents, no masking of old funk, just a clean healthy room. This is the main downer for me in hotels, the masking of smells with chemical deodorizers -- none of that here. The hotel is next to some walking neighborhoods, and is also close to very good take-out and restaurants and a convenience store across the street. The breakfast room / bar is really comfortable and well laid out. Breakfast was actually really good! Eggs, not rubber, scrambled with greens; sausages, rather tasty; potatoes and waffles and toast and stuff. No blaring televisions, just a nice place to sit. The bar is open 3-9pm and they have a nice selection of beers and wines. This is my favorite budget hotel in San Jose hands down! And if you have a car, it is even more value. It has plenty of covered parking under the hotel, accessible right off the street.

|5.83km from city centerA lot more than what meets the eye when you first pull in! Rooms were very spacious, breakfast was ok except they didn't have the waffle machine working that was sitting on there on the counter, which was kind of big bummer. They also have a full bar but it was closed for whatever reason and not stocked at all. The breakfast and bar were the main reasons we booked this hotel too.
Oh and one last thing, someone at the front desk apparently ”accidentally” set off the FIRE ALARM in the entire hotel. At about 1:30AM the fire alarm sirens started blaring. I didn't smell smoke and didn't see or hear any panic when I went outside. I came out of our room and looked down the hallways and there was NO ONE to be found... Searched around (all while deafening sirens are blaring right outside our door) at 1AM and all of a sudden, after about 5 or so minutes of frantically trying to find a fire or anything, the sirens stopped. Extremely confused and also a bit irritated at 2am, we called the front desk after not hearing anything from anyone about if we were in danger or not. They answered finally and we told them that the fire alarm had been going off... The front desk person said ”Yes, we know, we took care of it.” Like it's a normal occurrence and we should've known I guess... So, confused again, we asked ”Sooo, was it just an accident?” And all they replied with was ”Yes.” Without so much as an apology. And that was that
So, be prepared, if staying here, that might happen! Just forewarning. 🤷

|5.83km from city centerI am sorry to have to write summary negative review, because most Homewood Suites in which I have stayed have been wonderful. Not this Homewood Suites. After having our flight cancelled at 10pm, I booked this hotel’s one bedroom, king suite, with full confidence that I would get a few good hours of sleep before our 6:45am flight. I was wrong. While checking in, I asked if I could have an extra blanket for the pull out sofa bed and was told there were no more blankets available. The afternoon housekeeping staff had not washed any for the evening shift to have available. Upon arriving to room 309, the room was freezing, Inturned on the heat. However, after 20 minutes, only freezing cold air blew out. I called the front desk and was told I could switch rooms and to come all the way back to the front desk to pick up the key. Mind you, all the buildings are separate, individual buildings from the lobby, which meant an outside walk, in the dark, back to the lobby. Why the desk clerk could not bring a new key to me, I do not have understand. We moved to room 402 and while the heat worked, there was NO hot water coming from out of the bathtub/shower. After letting the water run for ten minutes, we gave up. Also, the drain was clogged, so the tub was over half full of water. The next morning, the water remained, which I took a picture of. Overall, this was the worst hotel stay I have had in years and I travel every week for business. I hope someone from Hilton reads this review as Indo plan on sending this to the hotel manager and regional vp also.

|3.39km from city centerUpon arrival, the shuttle was parked in the entrance driveway so we had to park in the alley and haul our luggage through the parking garage - no assistance from Marriott staff and no luggage carts were staged to make this task easier. I am an Ambassador elite member and should have been given complimentary water at checkin, but no water was offered. We were also not able to access the enhanced internet during the two days that we were at this property. The login screen said the information I entered did not match the hotel’s registration information. Marriott management was totally unresponsive in addressing the problem and Marriott IT (somewhere in Canada) was unable to help - my call was “dropped” after a few minutes. There were no USB connections for charging phones and the electric plugs provided by bedside table lamp was loose fitting and non-functional. I had to unplug the hotel phone to use the wall receptacle for charging my mobile phone. I did like the layout of the room but did not like the use of opaque glass on the doors that separated the toilet enclosure and shower enclosure from the bedroom area. These doors allow light to enter the room at night which may disturb anyone else in the room who is sleeping. The hotel “restaurant” is a seating area near the bar and the bartender was the waiter; the “kitchen” was behind a wall and not visible. We were unable to get coffee from the “restaurant” or bar in the evening - there was no way for bartender to make fresh coffee. Our experience at this Marriott property is not what we expect from Marriott and our stay here was a huge disappointment to say the least.

|6.26km from city centerI booked this hotel through fedrooms.com, at least I thought it was. The website lists it as a Days Hotel (actually not many years ago). Naturally, the front desk staff on the night shift could not confirm the reservation, but she found a room for me anyway, and the price was very affordable. The room is still being upgraded, but the bed is new and extremely comfortable. The manager said that the next step was to change the carpet. The room was quiet and the surrounding environment was probably not the best, but I felt safe and worry-free in the hotel. Breakfast is decent in terms of the grade of the hotel. The staff is very friendly. If you are traveling to Silicon Valley and want to find a decent room, saying that you want the price to be lower than the government's business travel standards, I strongly recommend staying here.
