I absolutely loved the hotel's natural environment. We saw a family of dusky leaf monkeys near our room's balcony, as well as large black squirrels. Hummingbirds frequently visited the balcony garden, and we even spotted greater racket-tailed drongos flying by. On our way back to the room after breakfast, we saw a lizard busily eating in a tree hollow. By the pool, we observed a family of oriental pied hornbills. We were even lucky enough to spot a family of wreathed hornbills on our way to the Thai restaurant. The scenery near the Thai restaurant is beautiful, and we saw white-bellied sea eagles catching fish and brahminy kites soaring over the sea. We joined the hotel's night walk and, led by our guide, saw a mother colugo with her baby, some gliding from tree to tree. We also saw fruit bats, scorpions, dusky leaf monkeys, squirrels, Tokay geckos, oriental pied hornbills, and more. The guide gave us detailed explanations of their habits, which was fascinating. The next morning, we went birdwatching and encountered the same guide. He actually remembered that we really wanted to find a Draco lizard yesterday and asked if we had found one. With his help, we finally found this flying lizard! We are so grateful to him!

The room overall is quite spacious, and the decor is relatively new for a hotel that's been around for about 30 years. It has a Nanyang style, and the service is quite good. It's right next to Cenang Beach, about a 35-minute taxi ride to Kuah Town, and relatively close to the airport, around 15 minutes away... Overall, I highly recommend it. There aren't many special hotel activities, but the breakfast is generally quite good. There's an Asian restaurant and a Western restaurant, both with decent food, and the Western restaurant is near the beach with amazing views!

Overall, I was quite satisfied with the service, but the professionalism of a few individual staff members really needs improvement. When we arrived at 12 PM on August 8th, the female front desk staff completely disregarded our booking information and room availability, directly refusing to check us in and insisting we wait until 3 PM. At 3 PM, she then claimed the room wasn't ready and made us wait another hour. It was the worst experience we had in all of Langkawi. However, a manager later came to help resolve the issue and even provided complimentary breakfast, and the other staff members were all quite good. Considering the hotel's price, everything else was excellent. There's a night market right outside, a park nearby, and it's very convenient to cross the road for food.

Objective review: Pros: Most hotel staff were warm, friendly, and enthusiastic. The location boasts beautiful scenery, with wildlife nearby, and it's very close to the jetty. There are also many dining options in Kuah Town. The spa was excellent, though a bit pricey! Cons: The hotel's facilities are outdated, and cleanliness was just average. The toilet had a slight odor, and the sheets had stains, which I later asked staff to replace. The biggest issue is the soundproofing. If you're easily stressed or a light sleeper, seriously consider my advice and avoid this hotel. Perhaps I was unlucky, but for four nights, a Middle Eastern family with two crying children stayed across from us, and their wailing continued past midnight. It was truly frustrating. Thankfully, the platform provided timely feedback and intervention, and the hotel manager offered some gifts and earplugs, but there were still several difficult hours at night. I think a better solution would have been to help us move to a more suitable room, but the manager refused, stating that twin rooms were fully booked. This is definitely incomparable to hotels with excellent service awareness in China. Another major pitfall: The seafood at the hotel's restaurant, Tide, was not fresh and very expensive. Definitely avoid it; don't take my word for it, go try it yourself. My daughter had diarrhea that night, and the hotel later offered some discount compensation. Communicating with foreigners is exhausting, so I won't dwell on it. Finally, since this was a family trip, we focused more on the happy moments. Despite the imperfections, let's just think less about them~ I wish everyone gets to see the beautiful natural scenery of Langkawi.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and mostly used the room just to sleep. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The view from the room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and the room itself was cozy and had everything we needed. The soundproofing was also quite good, which made it easy to get a good night’s sleep. We had breakfast included, and it offered everything you would normally expect from a standard European breakfast. Nothing extraordinary, but perfectly good and satisfying. I would like to mention a few small points for future guests, without lowering my rating because they didn’t significantly affect our stay. The room cleanliness could be improved. The bed linens and towels were perfectly clean, but the decorative pillows, curtains, and parts of the bathroom didn’t seem as clean as they could have been. I’d rate the overall room cleanliness around 5/10. Also, there were no toothbrushes provided, and the toiletries were not replenished in sufficient quantities for a two-night stay. I would recommend bringing your own toothbrush and personal hygiene items just in case. Despite these minor issues, we enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel left a positive overall impression. Thank you for your hospitality!

However, I'd recommend booking the mangrove tour elsewhere (the hotel's mangrove tour didn't feature any bats). The beach is very clean, but there aren't many small creatures (like hermit crabs...). The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Choosing this hotel for our anniversary was definitely the right decision. All in all, it truly is one of Langkawi's top hotels.

Breakfast was terrible, with limited options and the worst quality I've ever had in a hotel. The ingredients were extremely poor. Even the fruit was tasteless and not sweet; the pineapple was so sour it was inedible, the waffles tasted sour, and the only vegetable was stir-fried cabbage. There was absolutely nothing redeemable about it. The only edible items were the freshly made paratha and omelets.

The facilities were great, and I truly enjoyed my time here. However, there are a few areas that could be improved. The check-in experience was disappointing. Although I had booked my room four days in advance, I still had to wait almost an hour before my room was ready. What made it more frustrating was that no apology or explanation was given by the staff for the delay. Another area that needs improvement is the Wi-Fi connection, which was quite unstable during my stay. Overall, I had a great experience and would still recommend Ombak Villa Langkawi. Although it's an older hotel, it's been renovated. The room was very spacious and even had a balcony. The front desk gave us a sea view room, and the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom were very convenient. The hotel's own swimming pool is also beautiful. We stayed for three days, and it was super easy to find food nearby; convenience stores and malls were all within walking distance. We could try a different place to eat every day and still not run out of options. Prices here are much more affordable than in Cenang, offering great value for money, and it's not far to get anywhere by taxi.

No glasses for drinks, we had to ask.They ran out of fruit, we had to ask etc, etc. However…….! I went to reception and asked to speak to the manager. She listened and made notes. We then received a fruit platter in our room with a note of apology, the next day breakfast was brilliant! Ran like clockwork, food good. This service continued throughout our stay. The staff at Bella Vista will go out of their way to help you. They are friendly and respond quickly to any requests Don’t just moan, go and speak to someone, they are lovely people. Had a really good time here at Aloft Langkawi. Service was tip top. Everyone was really helpful the moment we arrived, I asked for wheelchair assistance in advance and it was ready right away. The room was more spacious than we thought. Perfect for us and our 10 and 7 year old girls. They absolutely loved the bunk beds & the kids’ toys provided in the room. They even gifted my girls with cute plushies! The pool area was lovely. Kids had so much fun at the kids’ room - eventhough it wasn’t school holiday, they still had a lot of activities that you could book in advance to participate in. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay & would recommend to everyone else. Hope to be back one day. Thank you so much!

I brought my whole family to this hotel for a New Year's vacation. The public courtyard has plenty of space for activities, which was great. There are lots of outdoor seating areas and hammocks, and the hot and cold water dispenser was very convenient. The hotel staff were excellent, very patient and polite. The downsides were that there were many ants in the room, the triple room was dark and damp with poor ventilation, and the location is a bit out of the way.

From the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely top-notch. every staff member made us feel welcome, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. It was impressive (and touching) that many of them greeted us by name throughout our stay. The level of hospitality here is on another level. The room was perfect — beautifully designed, spacious, and surrounded by nature. Stepping out into the rainforest felt surreal, like being in a different world. During our stay, we spotted hornbills, macaques, and dusky leaf monkeys (also known as spectacled langurs) with their distinctive white “spectacles.” Such an incredible experience to be so close to wildlife in their natural habitat. The pool and beach were both fantastic, quiet and serene, with excellent service all around. The restaurants were excellent as well — consistently delicious food, whether breakfast or dinner, paired with attentive, warm service. Every moment felt effortless and peaceful. We loved our stay so much that we’ve decided to make The Datai our annual short getaway.

A Perfect Getaway From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was seamless, enhanced by refreshing cold towels and a delicious welcome drink. Our room was stunning (Encina), conveniently located on the ground floor with easy access to both the pool and the beach. The amenities were excellent—thoughtful touches like jars of roasted peanuts and cookies (which were replenished daily) made our stay even more enjoyable. We also loved the complimentary tea, coffee, and cookies available in the lounge throughout the day (though I don’t recall the exact schedule). The location was ideal, with plenty of shopping options just a short walk away. Now, onto the food—breakfast was a highlight! We tried a variety of dishes, including eggs, hot oatmeal, blueberry pancakes, whole wheat French toast, chicken wraps, and the standout quesadillas—absolutely delicious! What truly set Casa Del Mar apart, was the staff. They were consistently warm, friendly, and eager to assist, making us feel well taken care of throughout our stay. For outstanding service, hospitality, quality food, and a prime location, I highly recommend this hotel. It’s a gem!

Camar Resort Langkawi has several positive points. The hotel is clean, the location is excellent, and the staff members are generally kind and helpful. The resort is located by the beach, which makes it a convenient and pleasant place to stay. However, I believe there are some important points that need serious attention from the hotel management and the front desk team. First, I did not find it appropriate that upon check-in, the guest is immediately informed about many rules, penalties, restrictions, and prohibited actions in a way that does not feel very welcoming. These rules are already common in most hotels and can simply be printed and placed inside the room, instead of making the guest feel uncomfortable at the beginning of the stay. Second, for a four-star beachfront hotel, it is disappointing that there are no washing machines available, neither in the rooms nor as a shared laundry facility in the hotel. This is inconvenient for guests, especially families, as they may need a place to wash and dry their clothes during their stay. Third, the breakfast needs improvement. The variety of food is limited, and it does not offer enough options to satisfy different tastes. Also, the same dishes are repeated every day, and the quality of the breakfast was not at the level expected from a four-star resort. Fourth, I had an unpleasant experience during check-out with one of the front desk staff. There was an attempt to deduct part of my deposit for a reason that I found unacceptable and not the guest’s responsibility. I strongly objected and did not allow the amount to be deducted, but such behavior gives a very negative impression of the hotel. Not all guests may object, and some may end up paying unfair charges. Fifth, regarding the taxes and extra charges, the amount stated during booking was RM15, to be paid upon arrival. However, upon check-in, I was charged RM45. Later, when I extended my stay for three more days, I was charged another RM15. In my opinion, this is not clear and does not seem fair, as most hotels usually charge the stated amount only once according to the booking conditions. The hotel should be more transparent and consistent regarding these charges. Overall, the resort has good potential because of its location, cleanliness, and friendly staff, but the management needs to improve the check-in experience, laundry facilities, breakfast quality, and the way deposits and extra charges are handled. These improvements would make the guest experience much better and more professional.

⭐️ (Strongly Not Recommended) My stay at A Coral Reefs Resort from 21–23 March started off acceptable, but what happened after check-out was deeply disappointing and raises serious concerns about the hotel’s professionalism and integrity. After I had already left the property and arrived at the airport, I received a call accusing me of being involved in a missing RM1200 reported by three foreign guests. This accusation was based solely on a vague CCTV clip showing me sitting in the lobby and putting something into my pocket. Let me be absolutely clear: such an allegation, made without concrete evidence, is irresponsible and unacceptable. The hotel’s account of the incident was inconsistent and unreliable. I was first told the money was left on a table, and later it was claimed to be inside a pair of pants. The inability to establish even the most basic facts seriously calls into question the credibility of the entire claim. Even more concerning is the timeline. If the alleged incident took place on 21 March, why was I only contacted on 23 March, after I had already checked out and reached the airport? This delay reflects either poor internal handling or a lack of proper investigation. The CCTV clip provided was incomplete and unclear. It merely shows me placing my own personal belongings (my phone and medicated oil) into my pocket. There is absolutely no evidence that I handled or took any cash. Relying on such selective and inconclusive footage to imply wrongdoing is not only unprofessional, but also unfairly damaging to a guest’s reputation. We have formally requested the full CCTV footage to ensure transparency and proper verification of facts. Failure to provide complete and unedited recordings will only further undermine the credibility of this accusation. If this matter is not handled appropriately, we will not hesitate to escalate it through formal complaint channels. Guests should be aware that without clear evidence, this establishment is willing to cast suspicion based on assumptions rather than facts.

We stayed at one of the suites and it was right next to the salt water pool, wonderful that we can hop into the pool everyday! There was also sunset view and stars every night you can enjoy. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. In particular the security guard at the parking was very nice to remind us to switch off our car’s lights at night. The breakfast could have more options as we stayed for 5 days and eventually becoming a bit more repetitive on the menu. Location was great. A few great restaurant across the street (a little more high-end). Highly recommend to go with a rental car to get around the Langkawi Island.

The hotel is new, all the furniture and decor are modern, and the lobby and corridors are spacious. The grounds are a particular delight: they're flat, not hilly, and all the restaurants, areas, and pools are within walking distance. No need for buggies. The restaurants offer excellent cuisine, and breakfast is delicious – even Europeans will find something to their taste. We also opted for dinner and absolutely loved the Italian restaurant. One evening, we ventured out to a nearby restaurant on the water and deeply regretted it; we should have just stayed at the hotel's restaurant. They approach issues responsibly, but aren't always able to resolve things due to a lack of flexibility. However, one lady at the reception was exceptionally warm and helped us with our problem. The only thing that bothered us was a beeping sound in the room, which turned out to be a motion sensor (some kind of special fire safety technology). It doesn't beep at night when there's no movement, but during the day when the room was quiet, it was a bit annoying. For those who aren't fixated on small things, it won't be an issue.

A surprisingly delightful stay! The hotel is nestled within the rainforest, allowing you to breathe in the forest air without even leaving the premises. The breakfast spread is extensive with plenty of choices, and there's a dedicated vegetarian restaurant, which is very friendly for vegetarians. Remba restaurant is particularly noteworthy; the beautiful scenery is absolutely breathtaking, but do be mindful of monkeys trying to snatch your food. A great stay! This hotel is beautiful, the rooms are large and very local. The paintings on the wall and the decorations are carefully selected. The breakfast is also great, with a wide variety and good taste. They also prepared local specialty pastries and their homemade jams. We also ordered cheese omelet, which is very smooth and fragrant when eaten alone, and it is another enjoyment to eat it in toast. It's really great! The only drawback may be the location, which is a little hidden. You have to go in from a small road, don't be scared. But you can still get a grab, but it takes a little more time. It takes about ten minutes to take a taxi from Chenang Beach and not far from the airport. Facilities: The equipment is very complete, and the most surprising thing is that the toilet is actually smart. Hygiene: Very good. Someone cleans it every day. Environment: The environment is very beautiful, as if you are in the isolated nature. The infinity pool is great, and you can see squirrels and monkeys! Service: Very good! Every staff member is very friendly. If you encounter some problems during your stay, they will be solved immediately, and the efficiency is very high.

The room overall is quite spacious, and the decor is relatively new for a hotel that's been around for about 30 years. It has a Nanyang style, and the service is quite good. It's right next to Cenang Beach, about a 35-minute taxi ride to Kuah Town, and relatively close to the airport, around 15 minutes away... Overall, I highly recommend it. There aren't many special hotel activities, but the breakfast is generally quite good. There's an Asian restaurant and a Western restaurant, both with decent food, and the Western restaurant is near the beach with amazing views!

Summary - Great apartment for families, decent location, but had a rough first half of the stay (construction noise, power trips, AC issue, breakfast/restaurant stock shortages, spa gripes). Guest relations sorted it out properly and the second half was excellent. Solid 4-star, not 5. We spent 8 nights here with our three kids (11, 7, and 6 months), and overall it was a good trip — but not without some hiccups. First, the good stuff: the apartment was brilliant. Really modern, loads of space, perfect for a family our size. The pool was a great depth for the little ones to splash about, the gym being open 24 hours was handy for early workouts, and the location's a good one. Staff were friendly throughout too. Now the not-so-good bits, which mostly hit us in the first 4 days: There's a big building going up literally 30 metres from the hotel, and it completely blocked our sea view. Worse, the construction noise ran from about 8am to 6pm every day — weekends included, so no escaping it. We also had the electricity trip in our apartment twice, and the aircon in the main room packed in for about an hour at one point. Breakfast was hit and miss — quite a few things out of stock, especially on day one. Then one evening at the restaurant, we went to order wine and two of the bottles we wanted weren't available either. Small thing, but combined with everything else it added up. Over at the spa, one of the treatment rooms had a broken speaker that crackled the whole time — not exactly relaxing. They'd also advertised a 30% discount without mentioning it only applies to treatments between 10am-noon, which felt a bit misleading. By day 4 we'd had enough of the issues piling up and asked about a partial refund, half-thinking about moving hotels for the rest of the trip. We dealt with Nur Farah Ain Jamrin, the guest relations manager. To be honest, our concerns weren't taken quite as seriously as we'd have liked at first — but to her credit, she and the team then went and properly sorted things out. I won't go into what exactly was offered since I think every situation's different and should be judged on its own merits, but the effort was clearly there, and it completely turned things around. The rest of the stay was genuinely excellent. So overall — lovely apartment, good facilities, friendly staff, but a bumpy start with maintenance and stock issues that a 5-star hotel really shouldn't have. The recovery was handled well though. I'd call it a solid 4-star.

The service was enthusiastic, but the facilities were old and the room was small. The fridge was full of water and mold, and the kettle was leaking. Breakfast was terrible, with limited options and the worst quality I've ever had in a hotel. The ingredients were extremely poor. Even the fruit was tasteless and not sweet; the pineapple was so sour it was inedible, the waffles tasted sour, and the only vegetable was stir-fried cabbage. There was absolutely nothing redeemable about it. The only edible items were the freshly made paratha and omelets.

Although it's an older hotel, it's been renovated. The room was very spacious and even had a balcony. The front desk gave us a sea view room, and the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom were very convenient. The hotel's own swimming pool is also beautiful. We stayed for three days, and it was super easy to find food nearby; convenience stores and malls were all within walking distance. We could try a different place to eat every day and still not run out of options. Prices here are much more affordable than in Cenang, offering great value for money, and it's not far to get anywhere by taxi.

This is my 3rd time staying here, and I don’t think I’ll be choosing another hotel anytime soon! The rooms and furniture are new, and I really love the beautiful balcony railing. The sea view from the balcony is absolutely amazing. The resort also has easy access to the beach, swimming pool, and all the shops around Pantai Cenang. Definitely a great place to stay!
