Hunas Falls provides an astonishing setting of sprawling gardens with walkways, flowers and a lake with a bridge to cross it, a waterfall, upper waterfall and a mini golf course all constitute a most beautiful background. Happy to meet a long time friend Mr. Ranil Delgoda, who is maintaining the property in a prime condition. Very spacious room and the balcony with all the amenities, beautiful garden in the front, the valley mountains of in the background, lake and the forest onto the right, tea plantation plantation in the left. Just behind the room was the ten foot deep swimming pool, right behind the pool it's the Hunasgiriya mountain covered with mist and the road leading towards it. Restaurant overlooking the lake with a beautiful view, and the food is excellent. Something remarkable is the human touch, very friendly and courteous staff, starting from the front office Mr. Tuan, Ms. Nilmini, Ms. Sathsara, Ms. Himasha, Mr. Raja and Mr. Gunawardhanana, this is in addition to AGM & Head Naturalist Mr. Buwaneka Pathirana. It was a pleasure to meet the staff of well managed resurgent Mr. Hemantha - Restaurant and Bar, Mr. Wasantha - F & B, Mr. Dhananjaya, Ms. Disna, Ms. Minu, Mr. Chaminda, Mr. Sajeewa - Chef and his staff, Mr. Sidath, Mr. Satheesh, Mr. Ovindu, Messers Indika, Ashan and Charith in the Bar, also a big appreciation goes to the staff who are maintaining the huge beautiful garden in prime condition. I'm a frequent traveler and I was tempted to try out this hotel as I came across one of their offers. I called the hotel and checked their availability and placed a temporary booking. Then I confirmed the offer and made the payment and requested them to send the booking confirmation. I had been trying for 3 days to get a booking confirmation from them!!! But still had NO success. I travel a quite a lot and sending a booking confirmation is a matter of few minutes usually. I was surprised why it is taking them days to send a simple booking confirmation. I have made more than 10 calls over the past 3 days to ask for the booking. Also, to my surprise I found that the last few calls made to the landline were intentionally picked up and cancelled. (This is a FIRST in many of my travels). Also, I had the feeling that the first female agent who picked up the reservation was clueless. She was not good in her English, so I spoke to her in Sinhalese. Whenever I inquired about the booking she will reply saying it will be sent shortly. But it never came in the first 3 days. What a waste of time! Finally on the fourth day another reservation executive picks up the call and sends me a booking for a different set of days. I tried to call and ask them to correct it. But the hotel never picked up any of their phones. So i finally decided to cancel the booking. I'm sure they have made a Blunder somewhere!!! hence this reaction! I have seen hotels make mistakes before but the quality hotels always try to make amends and will usually try to check with the customer and correct it. This is a good sign of the lack of quality and lack of training of the staff. If the staff is this negligent and rude even prior to your arrival, I'm glad I didn't go there to find out!From$99

This is not our first stay at the hotel. This was our 3rd or 4th visit and it is the last for sure due to their poor customer handling and management. I must say that our previous stays were fabulous and i have made positive reviews in TripAdvisor for those. However, this time most of the staff are new to us and not so friendly and caring as the ones who were there earlier starting from the front office. They just don't care, I don't know if its because we are local travellers. On the other hand, the ”amberella” welcome drink is awesome as always. We stayed in a Duplex as there were 4 adults and my 9 month old baby. The rooms were clean and spacious. The living area was giving a calming vibe and had the same look as their other villas we have stayes before. Our baby, husband and I were in the upstair room and when we entered the room is was heated up and the air conditioner was not working properly. It was so uncomfortable so we called the front office and they sent a team to repair. It was taking alot of time so we requested for another room as our baby was feeling tired and needed a nap. Plus, they had adequate rooms vacant and even had Duplex category rooms available too. Still, they refused to shift us to another room so we kept the baby in the ground floor room. The repair took around 2 hours! And then we went to the room and the air conditioner was working. Yet, we were not able to have a nap and relax as we had to go out to Anuradhapura which is the main reason for our visit. So we came back at around 9.30pm and the air conditioner was not working again. Again the same drill, a team came, inspected and told us they need to repair again and it was 11.45pm when they said this. We refused because we were already exhausted as needed to sleep. Also, now, at 11.45 at night they are asking us if we can move to another room (Duplex category). They had vacant Duplex category rooms all this time and in the moddle of the night they are asking us to shift. In my head I was bursting but we were all too tired to keep arguing or leaving the useless place so we stayed in the same Duplex room just till morning. Early morning we left the hotel without breakfast eventhough we had paid for full board. They charged us the whole amount and invoiced for the additional food as well as mini bar (just mentioned this if not someone could think that they must've given a discount or wave-off). So we paid almost 500USD just for one night for this drama. We will never go back to this hotel and not at all recommend. I guess the main issue was poor management of the situation and it shows how poor the hotel management is. We were in Duplex 3 (Kohomba). This hotel staff or management will never care about the customer if something goes wrong and lacks hospitality. Afterall, while we were having our breakfast we got a call from the general manager of the hotel and he apologized but I think it is too late as we have already left their property. It’s my second trip to Sri Lanka and I am so glad I found this hidden gem! I have loved my stay at wild grass. The villa was huge, minimalist, refined, tranquil with all the essentials I needed. The balcony perfect for a relaxing beer, reading a book or simply meditating or sitting with the sounds of nature around you. Showering outdoors as tropical rain poured down or stars shone above was great. Wifi was good. I saw monkeys, birds, frogs, turtles even a chicken in the grounds. The perfect place for an escape from life, that you may never know you needed so much and may find yourself considering staying for a life in the tropics once you realise you did. A handy base for exploring rocks, ruins, mountains, rice fields, village life and more without too much travelling time. Recommend to hire a driver/car for your stay as it is a bit remote so this gives you freedom to go as you please. Staff were super kind, attentive, caring and helpful and ensured I had everything I needed during my stay even with our super early 4am exhausted arrival! We did miss traffic and sites along the way and it was a pleasure to wake up from that long travelling day in such a nice place but if a long drive after your flight isn’t your thing consider a night closer to airport first and head up next day if your flight arrives late. The meals we’re delicious and high quality, you must have the curries and the sri lankan breakfast 🤤 Nice pool and everything was clean, tidy, extremely diligent to covid protocols and mainly outdoors so low risk in that respect given the times we find ourselves travelling in. The bonus of that I was privileged to stay at a time when the resort, the island itself was having only minimal tourists so don’t waste time thinking about it book your stay as soon as you can get here and take advantage of that luxury as this magical island can be busy sometimes. Very pleased with the availability of hot water in shower. The room was very clean and pleasant to be in. There is also a terrace with a table and chairs where you can relax during the day. Food is a different story. You can choose accommodation with breakfast or half board. Breakfasts and dinners are amazingly delicious. For breakfast they serve scrambled eggs, bacon or sausages, toast, butter, jam, fresh fruit, pancake, but the baked pineapple with chocolate topping was especially impressive, it was divine)) For dinner there is a choice of several dishes. The lodges are very pretty and spotlessly clean whilst almost invisible amongst the palms and exotic plants that surround them. Don't be alarmed by the monkeys that frequent the hotel area, and you will almost definitely see a wild Elephant on your way into town. Dilantha, Dilshan, Dilan, and Chamoo have all been fantastic in taking us on tours, airport pickups, tuk tuk drop-offs, and generally, anything we needed. If you're looking for a small but perfectly formed place to stay amongst nature with hosts that will absolutely look after you, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for the perfect stay.

|1.81km from city centerBeautiful hotel, surrounded by nature and beautiful birds, so quiet and peaceful. The bed is extremely comfortable, the shower is great, the rooms are spacious. Short walking distance to Sigiriya rock and to Sigiriya town. The pool is beautiful and extremely clean, with an awesome view. Stuff are really helpful and extremely cordial. Special mention to the restaurant staff. The food is amazing, the chefs are lovely. A special thanks to Sunil and Guilan (the restaurant staff) they represent the best of Sri Lanka, the people. Will always be in our hearts. If we come back to Sri Lanka we will definitively will stay here. Ayubowan.

The room was large and quiet. The place to eat was at the pool, breakfast and dinner were at The hotel solved it, there were not many varieties, and there was no problem in eating. When I left, I found a piece of clothing falling in the hotel and called to contact me. I said that I would go to Colombo three days later and let the hotel express to the Colombo Hotel. I promised very well. During the period, I repeatedly asked if I had no problem, but I still didn’t receive it in the hotel three days later. |9.23km from city centerThe rooms are really big, nicely decorated and well maintained. The complex of the hotel is also really nice. There is a pool, a volleyball field and a little playground. Unfortunately, they didn’t have enough loungers at the pool. The hotel is located in the middle of the jungle which is why there are many animals like monkeys and peacocks running around the area. The food and the service was also great. They also offer massages.
