Every employee was exceptional, helpful and friendly. The location is great except for getting in an out with a vehicle. The rooms were very nice, the bed was comfortable and clean. The two issues I had with the room were promptly corrected by maintenance (bad toilet flush and light bulb which was very loud). The restaurant was good, though the server was not exceptional. You feel welcome at every area within the hotel, every employee greets you as you pass. Only bad thing that I can say is that, I am allergic to dogs and could tell from the moment I slept in the room that there had been a dog or pet in the room prior. This lead to some discomfort that I was not prepared for. A bit of warning should be given to those with allergies so that other arrangements could be made.

It's Christmas, and the hotel has a great atmosphere, with two oversized Christmas trees! There is also a Christmas tree and a small snowman as soon as you enter. The room is relatively ordinary, with a small balcony. There is a small pedestrian street next to the hotel. There are some small shops and food you can try. They taste good! Hygiene: quite clean Service: Not bad, I changed rooms three times. The first time was because there were children next door, the second time was because my balcony was no longer available, and the third time, they probably got annoyed and upgraded me directly hahahaha, no impatience. Environment: Everything around is very convenient, including Starbucks downstairs. (Remember to buy water from the nearby supermarket, water in the room is charged)

This place is fantastic! The hotel has a pool on the second floor, plus a small hot tub, which was perfect for soaking away travel fatigue. There's also a laundry room on the second floor, which was a lifesaver for us after driving down Highway 1 for days (the older hotels we stayed at before didn't have one). My wife was so happy! On the first floor, there's a water dispenser that even has various flavored sodas. I highly recommend all hotels offer this; it's delicious! The room was spacious and very clean; my family was all very satisfied. Finally: If you're staying in Monterey, you should definitely try kayaking – you might even encounter sea lions, sea otters, and seals nearby!

The location is splendid. Everything is alright except for the fact that we had to carry our luggage up and down the stairs to reach our room. There are in total 2 sets of stairs with small steps and our luggage was quite heavy. There is an elevator but it only carried us to to the floor and not where our hotel room is actually located. You definitely need to request for wheelchair accessible rooms if you don't want to burden yourself in carrying your heavy luggages or if you are bringing someone who is disabled or the elderly. The free breakfast had a pancake maker which was really nice.

Friendly staff, solid location, decent WiFi and generally clean and has the basics down. Better for sightseeing than for those staying in, I think. Quick things to note: they don't allow late checkouts, just fyi, but otherwise you just drop your keys in a box to check out. The vending machines are also located in an open area, which is nice for when I visited but could become an issue if it's raining... The balconies are really nice, and the location is insanely convenient. It's about 10ish minutes to walk to the aquarium, and it's a block (or half, if you go out the back!) to the waterfront. There's solid food and sightseeing options here too. They do have a decent parking lot, but there's a ton you can see in Monterey by walking, and this hotel is perfect for a lot of those. What's missing here: a common dining area and breakfast, for one. Rooms aren't cramped but most furnishing is basic. Don't expect anything fancy, essentially. All that said, it's a solid choice if you're actually going out and sightseeing vs spending tons of time here. And if you do, they have some pretty nice patios and some rooms have balconies overlooking a trail.
