First time staying at the Edwardian Manchester and overall very impressed. Service was great, a gentleman named Danny in particular was fantastic and very helpful. Facilities including spa and gym were great, breakfast and dinner in Peter Street Kitchen restaurant onsite was really tasty and good selection. Only fault I would say is room product seems slightly dated and shower / bathroom in our room 503 was an odd layout. Also very noisy outside window as there is an Irish bar open until late and dumping glass bottles first thing in morning was not great for sleep. Would avoid rooms facing this side.

Everything at the hotel was lovely. The diverse and friendly staff were all amazingly helpful and friendly from check-in, to the spa and breakfast. Highly recommend the spa and pool. It does get quite busy on certain days and hours but we managed to go in the early morning to enjoy all the facilities. 5-star breakfast. Lush, stylish and classy interiors with Asian highlights. Great selection of Japanese whiskeys. But the Negronis were a tad too diluted for my liking.

Stayed at the stock exchange for 1 night over the weekend, and had an absolutely fantastic stay! The hotel itself is beautiful, with the history of the hotel maintained in the restoration. The quality of the rooms, and general furnishing throughout the hotel are all very tasteful and of night quality. All of the staff we interacted with were also fantastic and couldn’t help enough We dined at the bull and bear for dinner and breakfast and enjoyed drinks at sterling which were both excellent, and highly recommended. The area where this hotel really excels are the little touches. These little elements such as Champagne and cake on arrival, check in conducted in the comfortable lounge, water provided on departure, umbrellas and shoe horns in the room are some great touches that really set this hotel above others in Manchester. The only element that I was surprised the hotel did not provide was a turn down service. Highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

We were nervous about this trip because my husband has terminal Prostate Cancer and is quite fragile but the staff and the hotel exceeded our expectations in every regard. The public areas and the bedroom were beautiful, tasteful and spotless, the staff were polite, helpful and professionally friendly without fault. The valet parking was such a help at what could have been a stressful time. (I am half expecting a fine for somehow managing to drive up a bus/tram lane!) The complimentary champagne and little cakes on arrival were a delight and started our stay off wonderfully. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to anyone.

Because the originally booked room type wasn't ready, the hotel upgraded us to a larger room. It was extremely spacious and comfortable, with two bathrooms and a fully equipped living and dining area. The most important feature was the combination washer-dryer, which was perfect for long-distance travelers to do laundry and reduce luggage burden.

Massive room, great hotel service, 1 min walk from the train station, 10min straight to Manchester city centre. Very affordable and lovely stay!

My mum, sister and I stayed at this hotel for the night. It was clean, but cold and the aircon in our room didn’t work for heating, (I’m not sure if ours was broken or if they don’t do that). So there was small plug in heaters. We had 2 but one had only 1 foot so we were worried It might be a bit of a fire hazard. Similarly the other was a bit dodgy as it was rusty. They had set out bottles of water which were warm and there’s no mini fridge. Our main issue was how loud it was. We couldn’t sleep all night, for there was a group of girls screaming, laughing and singing all night long until at least 6am. We didn’t know were it was coming from, above or beside. We had the breakfast the next morning which was £15 each. It was nice, there was a variety of different foods and you could order eggs how you wanted them. We however, ended up getting the breakfast for free as they were apologetic about the loud noise throughout the night and had said Saturday nights can be rowdy. As I said this is an okay hotel, it’s clean and the bathrooms are nice. I am surprised it is a 4 star hotel however. I unfortunately was able to sleep due to the noise and I thought there could have been proper heating etc.

Stayed over for two nights for a work meeting. My room was ok and thought the toiletries provided were really nice. A few of my colleagues said that their rooms had low ceilings and found it a bit tight. The food in the restaurant was nice and I really enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding! The location itself was excellent and suited us perfectly. Special mention to Tulika at reception, she was very welcoming and made the check in process really easy. Well done Tulika.

I've stayed in other hotels previously when in Warrington for work and this time someone recommended staying here. It's a small hotel (only 15 rooms) I think, so it can get booked up quickly! The pictures on the website make it look very nice and relaxing, and I can confirm that the hotel does look like the website. The room was a good size and had everything you need for a short stay. Comfy bed, desk area with tea/coffee/biscuits. Nice bathroom with a powerful shower. Big TV (which was too 'smart' for me. You can stream from your phone, or watch YouTube , but I did struggle to watch actual 'normal' TV channels. Not an issue as I was only there for 1 night otherwise I would have asked someone for help) The window had a blind on it which blocked out every bit of possible light (much better than any other hotel room I've stayed in) However, there was a bit of light coming through under the main room door, and I noticed I could also hearing some coughing and other noises during the night. Room would be even better if they made the doors a bit tighter and they would then be soundproof. Continental breakfast is included or you can choose to pay £10 for a cooked breakfast. I just had a latte (which was very nice), Croissant (warm and fresh tasting!) and a bowl of fruit. Great that this is included in the room price. All the staff I spoke to were really friendly and pleasant, and it definitely feels more like a family run small hotel (which is much nicer than a big chain) Overall had a lovely one night stay at this hotel. It was cheaper than other hotels in the area but everything was better quality and nicer. Will definitely book here next time I need to stay over in Warrington.
We had a family wedding at this beautiful venue and we stayed for the weekend at the hotel. The hotel is stunning, the rooms are really spacious, beds are so comfortable, showers are amazing, hotel is spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was gorgeous. As well as all that the staff are so friendly and welcoming, including the owners and manager, it’s just such a lovely place to be and I can’t say enough good things about it, I would highly recommend and I can’t wait to return.

From start to finish, our stay was fabulous! We visited for my husbands birthday and the staff really made us feel special! The concierge were great and looked after my car and luggage for us and offered us water bottles for the way home. Reception brought us cocktails on arrival which was a lovely touch! When we first arrived to our room, there was a very nice treat plate saying ‘happy birthday!’ which was a lovely gesture. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy and spacious. Breakfast was absolutely delightful and the thought that has gone into the theme of the hotel is amazing! Even my toast (which was freshly baked bread!) came in a little ‘money bag’. I think my only ‘issue’.. and I use that term extremely loosely!!.. was the price tags on ornaments and dressing gowns etc… it felt a little gauche for a 5* hotel. Although I completely understand their reasoning behind it because they are fantastic ornaments.. it did make us panic a little and check everything was in the room before we could relax because we didn’t want to be charged for things! The price list in the ‘Gotham bugle’ was probably enough. It also confused us a little as to what was complimentary because the only thing stated as complimentary was water. Overall, we will definitely stay there again! Thank you for an amazing experience.

My wife and myself stayed for 1 night on the 01/10/2022 for my wifes birthday and our 23 wedding anniversary. I have wanted to take my wife here for a number of years but due to covid and then a family event we have had to cancel on 2 occasions. I am glad to say the wait was worth it. The room exceeded my expections and my wife was impressed with the high level of thought and detail in our room. But what was most impressive to us was the service performed by your excellent team and we would like to take this opportunity to thank your whole team both front of house and behind the scenes for a perfect short weekend break. Special thanks needs to go to Maurice he gave us the most wonderful experience during our afternoon tea thank you so much. My wife and i love to travel and experience new things and new places and it is extremely rare for us to go back somewhere we have been before! We both agree we will be coming back to Hotel Gotham

If you like beer and rooms that are a bit quirky then this is the hotel for you. You have to pay extra for the beers in room (though you get a welcome drink on arrival) and we went for some shower beers. The room was comfy with a couple of chairs, a big desk and had a guitar and a record player and it was well equipped (you get bathrobes) Staff were friendly and you could get room service hot dogs 24 hours which is ideal after a few beers. You get free sweets and a free curly wurly in your room. You can also get packages where evening meal is included: I didn’t realised when we booked through *********** we had this but that’s a nice touch too! A couple of negatives: we slept well, bed was comfy and the room was generally quiet but workmen started digging up the road outside around 8am which we could hear which wasn’t ideal. Not the hotels fault but maybe ask for a quiet room. Though the room was comfortable it was a bit industrial like we were in old office space and the bathroom was just a fenced off bit of the room with frosted glass (though the bathroom was nice) so if you’re not a fan of the kind of industrial vibe then this might not be for you. There’s a massive mini bar all laid out which isn’t included and would be very tempting to raid a rack up a massive bill. There was a couple of mix ups during our stay (room service breakfast order we didn’t get and adding items onto our bill which we hadn’t bought). However, these were rectified quickly and received a free (delicious) breakfast for the mistake. Overall: I’d definitely stay again as a bit of a treat as even with the small issues it was a nice place to stay.
Pub only never stayed in the hotel. Pubs lovely, fresh, spacious, nice beers, usual prices, clean toilets, very attractive staff, safe, has a roof top but this was not a day for that. Plenty tables, table service optional, modern, will be back, I detest dogs, there was no dogs around. Phew

I loved this hotel, the location, the room, the food and all but one of the staff and this is why I rated it a 3. We arrived at the hotel early and knew we couldn’t take the room over until 3pm, so we were told we could use the bar, we sat with wine in the beautiful gardens and the exploring began, to our surprise we found a trim trail track had a go and realised how old we are, pretty quickly. How was an amazing member of staff very knowledgable and helpful, like I said the food was good. Now I hope the manager reads this and takes some action, at around 5pm my other half was chilling after a shower and I was stood making a drink, when we booked in at 3pm everything was done on line, if there was an issue, check the computer or ring the room, anyway at around 5pm I heard a bleep and an unknown male walked into my room, when I challenged him he said he was the late turn receptionist and he came to check if the room had been taken over. I was angry this should never happen what if my other half was alone in the shower or valuables were left out and we were not in the room, I was determined this wouldn’t spoil my break, I rang reception to check and complain, the same male answered the phone and confirmed it was him then hung up on me. Undeterred we did enjoy our evening and the next days breakfast but made a complaint with the female receptionist in the morning. If this incident hadn’t of happened which is a security issue I would have awarded 4.5 stars.

Stayed here to go to a Liverpool football match the next day and got to say not very impressed! There was 4 us but they only had 3 pillows & As we went out of the hotel to get dinner the gentleman at the desk said if we needed anymore pillows. I advised yes and if we could get these on the way back.. came back to the hotel to a woman on the front desk tell us no more pillows left! Me and partner ended up sharing 1 pillow and it was the worst nights sleep ever! The pull out bed was so uncomfortable I felt bad our little one sleeping on it! I know it’s a budget hotel but we all deserve a pillow each and at least a shower gel! We’ve slept better places for cheaper than here! We didn’t have the best experience at one of the Ibis hotels in Birmingham either last year! Will be sticking to Travel Lodge from now on!
