I haven't had such an unpleasant hotel stay in a long time. Here are the reasons and tips to avoid a similar experience:
1. **Booked a garden view, got a demolition site view.**
I booked a central garden view room at full price through 🐬, but the balcony view I received was as pictured. I didn't dare to hang clothes or even open the balcony door for fear of dust and mosquitoes. The hotel merely explained that they were renovating and offered earplugs if there was noise. [petrified R][petrified R] For such a room type, the hotel either shouldn't assign guests to it, or it should be listed separately on the booking page with a discount. Everyone pays full price, so are you just unlucky if you get stuck in this building?
**Tip to avoid:** When booking, add a note: DO NOT assign me to building 5, DO NOT assign me to building 5, DO NOT assign me to building 5.
2. **Extremely dissatisfied with dining options.**
We planned to have dinner at the hotel restaurant. At 7 PM, we walked to the Chinese restaurant, and the staff at the door simply said, “We don't have any tables available” (even though I saw several empty tables). “You can try the Western restaurant.” At the Western restaurant, the staff at the door said, “We only have a buffet here. You can try the lobby bar.” At the lobby bar, they said they offer light meals. Fine, it was already 7:30 PM, too late to order delivery, so we settled. 40-50 for a pasta dish, plus a 15% service charge. [crying R] After being bounced around like a ball, we felt like we were being ripped off. If only the Chinese restaurant had mentioned, “You need a reservation here, but the Western restaurant has a buffet, and the lobby bar has light meals,” the experience wouldn't have been so frustrating.
**Tip to avoid:** If you're not having the buffet, just order delivery.
3. **Female front desk staff – service was non-existent.**
While I know two female staff members don't represent everyone, these two front desk agents were enough to negatively impact the entire hotel's image.
**Tip to avoid:** Go to the line with male front desk staff for check-in.
Other issues: The bathroom drain had a foul smell, and it was incredibly crowded. The hot springs were full of murky water and dead skin cells. These are common issues during holidays and not specific to this hotel, so I won't list them separately.

Had a relaxing weekend getaway with my parents and kids. Liang Guanxin at the front desk was incredibly helpful during check-in. We had three rooms booked under separate reservations, and he went out of his way to arrange for us to be in adjoining rooms, and even threw in an extra child's breakfast. The resort environment is lovely, with beautiful Chinese gardens that are perfect for a stroll. The hot springs have a great variety of pools, and both the kids and my parents had a wonderful time. It's truly a perfect spot for a staycation.
