The EKHO hotel is on the edge of Eller town, not far from the main street, making it easy to travel. The characteristics of a good hotel are: clean, quiet, comfortable and modern, rich breakfast, and warm staff. Seems very ordinary ... However, isn't it very unusual to encounter a hotel without regret during the trip.

I have to admit, we absolutely loved our stay here. The people were so accommodating and friendly. The location is on a steep hill, most cars won't make it up but walking down and up takes about 5 minutes or a tub tuk can get you there. The view is amazing and worth the walk. It's so close to the main road and close to main attractions (about 20min walk) the room was comfortable, warm, clean. The breakfast was some fruit, with eggs made according to your choice, some toast and they even let us try the coconut pancakes which were so yummy. Everything was amazing. It's close to the station so you can walk if you don't have a lot of luggage. The location is good. There is no cooler probably because the location of the hotel is cool. Great hotel, with unbeatable view of Ella rock on the balcony. However the room did not have universal plug sockets, the hotel provided a hairdryer but did not fit the plug socket. It is also very difficult to get to with suitcases. Fine if you’re backpacking, but carrying suitcases up the massive hill is very difficult. The female owner's hospitality was excellent, and we had a wonderful stay. She gave us information about local sightseeing spots, and when we told her we were going to Kandy next, she also shared some of the highlights there, making this a fond memory of our trip to Sri Lanka.

The lodge is about a ten minute walk to the downtown area. Close enough to walk and far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. I walked to the train station from the lodge, which is about 7-800 meters away. The lodge is situated on the upper portion of the mountain with beautiful views of lush mountainous greenery.

The hotel has incredibly beautiful views, the windows overlook the cliff, the jungle, tea plantations. The breakfast is good, hearty. The staff is very responsive, always ready to help. It's cool at night, so ask for extra blankets.
The only downside is the pedestrian road to the hotel, as half of it is on concrete, the other half is on the ground, where there are leeches in the wet season, they have time to stick to you in 4 minutes of walking.
The hotel can only be reached by tuk-tuk along a narrow road, the staff kindly gave us a ride to the car on the day of our departure.

We arrived tired and out of sorts, but we were greeted so warmly that our spirits immediately improved. The hosts gave us tea, chatted in a homely way - you feel like a welcome guest, not a client.
The hotel is on top of a mountain, and each room has an exit to a terrace with a stunning view. You wake up in the morning - and in front of you there are only mountains and silence. The room is clean, cozy, everything is thought out to the smallest detail.
Breakfast was prepared especially for our preferences: fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, toast, even smoothies! The staff is not formally polite, but truly kind.
If you want to not just spend the night, but feel cared for and relax your soul - this is definitely your place. I want to come back again and recommend it to everyone. Many thanks to the hosts for such an atmosphere!FromPLN 192

On the maps Trip.com The hotel has an incorrect address. The photos are old, with the words of the owner ten years ago. Now the hotel looks different and is not on the first and last line, as in the photo: you have the roof of other houses under the feet.
I do not know what ‘privacy' people from other reviews are talking about. As I think, there was no privacy and there was no close: noise isolation is very bad, we stopped for two nights and every night woke up 3-4 once from someone's voices, crying a child under the door at 6 a.m., some other sounds.... this is the biggest minus : (Still in the bath ants crawled. And the floor was dirty, something constantly sticking on the feet, had to walk in shoes in the room. In the refrigerator, black pelvic, pelvic on free bottles of water.
According to Ella's measure, the hotel is quite far from the center, 500 meters, and the road to the center is constantly going from the mountain to the mountain, you get tired of climbing constantly. But the view is very beautiful from the window
The host of the hotel was kind and pleasant, and his brother was a very pleasant man who took us before our next stop. Results do yourself

гостеприимство хозяина настолько сыграло большую роль, что мы почувствали себя своими,как у самых доброжелательных и искренних родственников.
В номере чисто, есть все необходимое, вплоть до утюга, обогревателя, чайника, сушилки для вещей.
Отель без изысков современных гостиниц (в нём нет супер модного ремонта или шикарного интерьера), но в нём чувствуется, что о комфорте гостей думают: в первую очередь потому, что мы заселились на сутки позже бронирования, нас к сожалению, по пути из Нувара-Элии в Эллу застал разгар циклона с проливным дождем, но хозяин лично нас встретил на пороге, попросил свою управляющую по кухне задержаться ради нас и приготовить еду. Хотя во время нашего заселения на завтрак по таймингу давно мы опоздали, и тем не менее, сотрудники вежливо подождали, позволив нам намокшим, замерзшим сначала принять горячий душ и переодеться, а потом молодой работник подал наш завтрак и сразу помог нам донести вещи до номера.
В день, когда мы не смогли заселиться вовремя, с нами были на связи и предлагали помощь, чтобы мы смогли благополучно добраться до места назначения, просто арендованные байки оставляли нам мало вариантов для действий, чтобы эту помощь принять, хотя предложение с их стороны было бесценно.
Как итог - персонал отеля отнесся к нам с пониманием и заботой.
Поэтому Duet Hearts в наших сердцах действительно занял место для теплых и душевных воспоминаний.
Завтрак простой, но голодными перед прогулкой по городу не останетесь точно.
Удобно расположен для пеших маршрутов по Элле: есть выход и к туристическим улицам, и до девятиарочного моста мы ходили самостоятельно, не используя услуги такси.
Из минусов:
Подъездная дорога к отелю из ухабов, местами размытая почва, щебень, будьте осторожны в дождливую погоду, но проехать как самому, так и с водителем или пройти пешком - вполне реально.
На территории отеля нет лоска в благоустройстве, но любоваться джунглями со второго этажа гостиницы нам этот нюанс не мешал.
В этой Duet Hearts нам удалось почувствовать уют, умиротворение - hugge, несмотря на испытания мокрой погодой нон-стопом.

For the location, it is next to the city centre so there are many restaurant nearby and there are many options that we can choose. Keeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.FromPLN 321

The hotel is on the hillside, with a good mountain view, the room bathroom is super large, the only room that is not damp in the 20 days of living in Sri Lanka, if there is air conditioning, it will be perfect.
 It is more than 20 minutes' drive from Ella Town.  Ella is mostly sloped . It is basically a curved path to various hotels and homestays. It is very suitable for  people who want to be quarantined for a few days to live for a few days. I especially want to praise their service team. I just loved it, my favourit place to stay in sri lanka.
I had an amazing time at the ravana range. I stayed there for three nights over christmas, as a solo traveler and the stuff was really really concerned that i‘m having a great time. Everytime i came back from activities they welcomed me and it felt a little bit like coming home.
They organised a christmass dinner for all the guests and it was just amazing. The stuff did put a lot of effort in the whole event, a big buffet, special christmass coctails, christmass cake, a bit variety of amazing dishes (also as a vegie), etc.
The rooms are big, clean and every room comes with a little outside area. Nothing to criticise.
But what i loved the most was the fantastic view you have from some of the rooms and from the outside area of the hotel. You could see the whole valley and sometimes also the sunrise. Was sad to leave and i will come back! Thank you so muchFromPLN 139

It's a bit far from the town center, but it's a great location for visiting the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam's Peak. The room was large and clean, but the room I was initially assigned smelled a lot of smoke, so I ended up asking to change rooms. The owner kept trying to sell me, which was a bit annoying. ”Do you want a massage? Where do you want to go on a tour? What are you doing tomorrow?” etc. The breakfast was excellent.
