We were really impressed with this hotel. On our first day, we arrived at 10 AM for check-in and the staff let us check in immediately because a room was available. We stayed here for 5 nights, and the staff cleaned our room and changed our towels every day. The room was clean, and the reception staff were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. Our family plans to visit Coventry again next year, and we'll definitely choose to stay here again. The hotel is right next to Coventry train station, making it very convenient for travel.

The room was spacious, much more than I thought that it would be. It was also very clean. As we were out most of the time, we couldn't really get to use any of the facilities, if any in the hotel. As it's right smacked within the Coventry Club Football Arena, I can imagine it being a good accomodation for football fans whenever there's a match. The downside is that it's a little out of the way from the city centre. Unless you have a car, it might not be convenient to go to the city centre from this hotel.

Very good A historic castle hotel, not very expensive, located in Coventry, near the Peak District, not far from London, Manchester, and Newcastle The rooms are like rooms in a castle, and it feels like living in Downton Abbey (the filming location of Downton is actually within 100km). The decoration in the room is a bit old, and the hand-pull toilet feels like going back to the 90s. The public area is like a museum, all authentic British style, and any photo taken is quite good. I had dinner there, which was very good. In short, if you want to experience castles or monasteries in the UK, this is the best choice

Booked this hotel for my graduation ceremony. Aside from being a bit overpriced, everything else was really good. If I ever come back to Coventry, I'd definitely consider staying here again. The location is directly opposite the university (CV) and it's a 5-minute walk to the city center where Marks & Spencer is. There are also bus stops nearby, which is very convenient. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with a safe, fridge, kettle, TV, and minibar. The shower pressure was great and the water temperature was perfect. Even though it's close to the street, I didn't find it noisy. However, the hallway soundproofing isn't great, so you can hear people walking by. 💤

I usually book this hotel like every 2-3 months whenever I come to coventry but this time it felt like a bit awkward due to staff behaviour. I just wanna clear ‘The lady’ who checked me in was really nice, sweet and professional with what she’s doing, however the morning staff wasn’t very polite as I had already paid for a late checkout because I wasn’t well that night and couldn’t rest properly, yet the staff still called me without first double-checking with their team which shows there’s no communication. I was unwell and asleep when they called, and instead of apologising for the mistake, the lady hung up abruptly.  On top of that, the housekeeping staff opened my room door without knocking first and again there’s no apology. They opened the door and only then said “hello,” which was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional.  Overall, the lack of communication, manners, and respect for guest privacy really affected our experience and I’m I won’t come back here again.

Booked the hotel as it was near the place I was gonna work at the next day. It was accessible, very near the train station, and the town centre as well. Even though it was close to them, the place felt safe. It had all the basic amenities and it was clean. The people at reception were nice as well.

It was a nice big room, the bed with four-poster. The receptionists were doing their job properly. We only stayed one night, did not use all the facilities, such as bar, swimming or gym which there were available, only the restaurant. The bed is too soft, my husband was sank into it. He did not have a good night sleep.

Everything was superb except for smokers where I thought it's non smoking area. I fed back to the staff the rest of my concerns.

Here's a polished, balanced, and favourable review: I had an enjoyable stay at the Britannia Hotel Coventry. The location is excellent, especially being right next to the bus station, making it very convenient for travelling around the city. The front desk staff were friendly and provided great service throughout my stay. My room key stopped working a few times, but each time the issue was resolved quickly and efficiently. I also needed to ask about using the older-style shower hose, and the staff were polite and happy to help. The room was clean and tidy, with fresh towels provided. It was well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a kettle, a hairdryer, and an iron, which were all useful extras. The bathroom could do with a bit of a refresh, but it was clean and everything worked as expected. There wasn't any air conditioning, although there was a desk fan next to the bed, which helped keep the room comfortable. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The friendly service, convenient location, and good room facilities made for a pleasant visit, and I would happily stay here again.
