I stayed june 19 to June 21 , 2020. I was visiting family. I will say the hotel was clean and the room was a nice room My first night I was pretty happy and satisfied and then the drama begun. On my second day I was locked out of my room (213)and after about 30 min of going back and forth to get emergency keys to open the door, that STILL DID NOT WORK. I waited close to two hours to get back in my room when finally a maintenance man kicked the door in. We rechecked the lock and after waiting another 30 min and the lock still didn’t work, I asked to be moved to another room. At that time,I was told that the reason this happened is Covid and they had to reset the locks so it wasn’t the hotels fault. I asked if I could just check out to move to another hotel and was told that they COULD NOT AUTHORIZE A REFUND. So they would have to first try several different things before moving me and one was changing the battery. So once the battery didn’t work, I went back to the front desk and finally they gave me a new room. The. That room ALSO didn’t work. Back and forth with keys until the front desk had time to come upstairs and see what was wrong. Turned out a big chunk of the time we spent AGAIN going back and forth to our new room (419) and finally the hotel rep DOW I believe his name is came and was able to open the room with the machine. The rest of my entire stay ended up being like this, they never offered a new room and we had to go to the front desk to be let in EVERY SINGLE TIME I NEEDED TO ACCESA MY ROOM, IT WAS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE ON TIME BECAUSE I HAD TI WAIT IF THEY HAD A LINE AT THE FRONT DESK, I HAD HUGE ANXIETY IF I FORGIe SOMETHHING IN MY ROOM WHEN I NEEDED TO LEAVE, AND I WAS NEVER OFFERED ANYTHING FOR THE TROUBLE AND INCONVENIENCE I SUFFERED. So for that reason and the bad choices the staff made to rectify the situation or make my stay more comfortable it just never happened. All I got was excised as to why it happened and COVID was not their fault. Well, it’s not my fault either as a guest. And I’m not the one that opened a hotel that clearly wasn’t ready to be opened.

This hotel was very quiet and clean. Breakfast was good. I loved the rocking chairs out front. I will use this hotel in the future for my Texas trips. The staff was friendly and helpful. I believe the location was close to downtown Austin, I'm not 100% sure since I am from Ohio. I know the traffic was something I will never forget. You really can't get somewhere in 15 minutes!!

I've stayed here several times because of it's proximity to an office that I visit. There are some good things about this property but in general, if there is another Hilton option in the area, I'd try that over this property. Good: The rooms are roomy and modern The breakfast is good but it only offers prepared foods The exercise room is sufficient Bad: The elliptical in the exercise room is not a standard motion - it's too tight compared to most machines in hotels these days. The bathroom lighting is poor - my biggest gripe They've done away with individual travel-size toiletries (it's all shower dispensers) which means that they no longer offer conditioner, hand lotion or a bar of soap for the shower (you can always as for an extra bar of soap) The bedsheets feel cheap The bathroom hooks don't fit the hangers which means it's difficult to hang clothes in the bathroom if you want to steam out the wrinkles. These may sound like minor complaints but with so many hotels in the area that "get it" it's surprising how easy it is to miss the mark as Home2 has.

We were concerned about staying in a hotel or motel because of the numerous people who would have used the room before us. Inquiring about the Springhill's cleaning between customers we felt they would be as safe as one could get outside one's own home. The only negative is that instead of the buffet breakfast they had before COVID, they provided a sack breakfast with cereal, fruit, milk, juice, an energy bar, all lots of carbohydrates. If one wanted protein there is a McDonald's close as well as a Denney's.

Initial front desk check in/out service was excellent. Very courteous and pleasant staff. However, even thought I specifically requested a room with a King bed, NOT next to an elevator or ice machine. I was first given a room with two queens and then changed to one right next to the elevator. Then finally told that because I didn't come back down to the front desk I didn't get the "other room" that was available for me. lol But here's the rub: I requested M Club access and was told it would cost me $20 p/n. Ok. But when I got my bill I was charged an additional $3 per night state and local tax along with the $20. After already being charged the same taxes each night for the cost of the room! Ergo:double taxation! When I voiced my concern they simply opened then immediately closed the case. P.S. the M Club food was not worth $20. Save your money!

Found out, that yes, the fire alarm will wake up! Never did find out why it went it off. Also, when I went up to my room for the first time there was a "Do not Disturb" sign on the door. I was a little hesitant to open it. I thought I would have more of a "couch" in my room, but it's really just a padded bench. Not my favorite for a week long business stay. Otherwise all was good. Hotel was pretty empty due to covid.
