Reviews From Real Travelers
While looking for a place to break up our Western Japan road trip and unwind for 2 nights in a small, luxury property, we settled on Migiwatei Ochi Kochi, a high-end ryokan in the port town of Tomonoura. Pouring through articles and reviews (mostly in Japanese), we felt that it would offer large, comfortable rooms with great views, easy access to (leisurely) sightseeing and great food. As we had hoped, Miguwatei Ochi Kochi perfectly fit the bill for us. The ryokan is a relatively small property with just 17 rooms, but comes with all of the amenities one would expect from a much larger luxury hotel. It was built in 2010, so it's still relatively fresh and new, with very little sign of wear and tear. While it lacks a tranquil garden that some luxury ryokans have (think Asaba in the Izu Peninsula), its calling card is the view from both its common area and all of its guestrooms - they all have unobstructed views of the Seto Inland Sea, as well as of the Bentenjima and Sensuijima Islands not far away. It's makes for a really relaxing vibe, which combines well with the modern Japanese architecture and decor, which suits this ryokan very nicely. We stayed in an ”Upper Suite Room”, the top room category at the ryokan, and features a bedroom and living room as well as a very nice open-air Onsen (hot springs) bath on the room terrace. It's sufficiently large enough to relax and not feel cramped, and - as a bonus - we had meals served in our own room (which is something that is slowly disappearing from even the top ryokans), which we love. The room was stylish without being cluttered, and its earthly tones gave us a warm, welcoming feeling. The property also has two private baths that can be rented - free of charge - by guests. It's obviously larger than the Onsen bath in the guest rooms, so it was a nice change of pace to try it out. Our first night's meal was otherworldly. This ranks among the top 10 meals we've had in a Japanese ryokan. Sure, they have the advantage of getting access to the bounty of seafood, vegetables and meats from the area, but the kitchen staff then take it and make it truly memorable. Yes, it's technically Kaiseki (like at most ryokans), but Migiwatei Ochi Kochi's dinners are exquisitely presented, uniquely prepared and flavored, and meticulously explained (in Japanese to us, mind you) by the servers. We loved the Conger Eel sashimi, which was a first for us. Conger Eel is a delicacy in Japan, but not so unique that it's not offered in many restaurants. But to be served Conger Eel Sashimi, along with the raw liver of the Conger Eel, was definitely a privilege... often in Japan, along with Sashimi comes the liver of the seafood (especially Eel, Abalone, Octopus, etc.), which means that it's FRESH. One seafood that I generally do not like is Mantis Shrimp, but here, it was pretty darned good, which is saying a lot - I've tried liking it before, but never had one that didn't gross me out. Here, it didn't. Even less exotic ingredi

I stayed at the tsurufutei in the sister hall quite a while ago and was pleased with the deliciousness of the food. If I thought that this would be no doubt, I was discussing that I couldn't eat the sashimi of the salmon elsewhere in the future because of the impressive deliciousness. I was able to relax in the room bath and spend a blissful time. And the coffee was delicious. The coffee placed at the entrance so that you can drink at any time doesn't seem to be delicious, but it seems that you have chosen a good one without taking care of it until the end.

Bella Vista Spa & Marina Onomichi is a small luxury resort hotel with just 44 total rooms. This area is known for ship building; the original property served as a serviced guest house for people involved in the industry beginning in 1973. The present property was established in 2007, offering rooms with ocean views and a spa. The property grounds is quite vast - it's perched on a hill overlooking the stunning Seto Inland Sea and the Bella Vista Marina at the water's edge. There are walkways throughout that offer nice vantage points by which to appreciate the scenic beauty of this area of Japan. The outdoor terrace stretches directly from the main indoor common area and has uninhibited views of the Seto Inland Sea. In the middle of the terrace is a stretch of water that appears to flow directly into the ocean (even though the Ocean is quite a ways away) - the water is less than 10cm deep and isn't meant for swimming; it's strictly for show, and it's probably the most Instragrammable aspect of the resort. And, especially in the Summer time, you'll have the ability to enjoy the infinity pool as well as partake in numerous activities (both onsite and outside the property), such as a beach BBQ and island hopping. There's also a ribbon chapel on the property grounds that has won numerous design awards, and I'd imagine that it would serve as a wonderful venue for weddings. In the resort itself, there's a nice spa facility as well as three different restaurants serving Sushi, Kaiseki and Basque-inspired cuisine (using local ingredients and recipes.) We stayed in the Panorama Terrace Suite, which was quite large 100m² and the third from the top category room at Bella Vista. The best room is the Bella Vista Maisonette Spa Suite, but we passed on it because we generally avoid Maisonette-style layouts, while The Bella Vista is similar to the Panorama Terrace Suite, except that it has it has an open air bath with a view of the Ocean; The Bella Vista was already booked when we tried to reserve it. While our room was spacious, nicely appointed and clean, it was showing its age somewhat. It could probably benefit from a refurbishment within the next few years, especially given the room rates that they charge here. There is a dearth of power outlets as well, which is further evidence that it was built more than a decade ago. The room has a stand-alone bath tub, but it's not Onsen (natural hot springs.) In fact, there's no longer Onsen anywhere on site - supposedly, Onsen stopped flowing about 7 years ago, and that was that. It's a shame, given that there is ”Spa” in the property's name, but a Japanese Spa resort without Onsen is a bit of a misnomer if you ask me. Not their fault, but them's the facts. Dining wise, Bella Vista offers 3 options - Sushi, Kaiseki and Basque-inspired cuisine. All three of the restaurants serve dishes using the very best of local ingredients from both land and sea. We had dinner at Erretegia, the Basque-Japanese restaurant, and it w

Hotel location: More remote, but there is a shuttle service, Fukuyama jr station and Hiroshima Airport are pick-up points. It is far from the nearest store or restaurant, and it is usually settled in the hotel. Hotel Package: The room is large, the sea view is first-class, the configuration is complete, even the curling irons are available. The public baths and gym are ok, and ice cream and drinks are available in the lounge area. Breakfast: Super super super super good, if you can, you must try the breakfast here. There are Japanese and Western styles. I chose Japanese style. It feels richer and more delicious than the dinner I had at the half board hotel the day before. . Hotel environment and service: The indoor and outdoor landscapes are very well done, the ribbon church is beautiful and the hotel service is in place. With a younger brother who can speak Chinese, tell us about the hotel. Many of the details of the check-in process can feel their high level of service. Although it is a four-star, it is better than the five-star service in China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). If you look at the hotel's shape and location and price, it may not be easy to choose here. However, after checking in, I feel that the experience and service I received is matched with the price. If you are near Hiroshima or Seto Inland Sea, it is recommended to stay here for one night.

The room was clean, and I was highly aware of corona infection prevention, and I felt relieved. The sea and islands 々 spreading all over the window of the room never got tired of looking at it. Thanks to the delicious meal in the restaurant Kairi private room with a view of the fishing port and the hospitality of the staff, I also played a talk with my family who met Ku 々. It was correct to take an open-air bath on the roof immediately after early check-in, and I was able to enjoy the extraordinary while feeling the wind in Setouchi slowly by myself. I also liked the deck of the hotel facing the sea, felt the sea breeze, heard the rust, and went out to relax many times. Even after checking out, I stopped by after walking around the town of Tsurunoura and sightseeing, and I was able to relax until the shuttle bus time at 2 in the afternoon. It was very easy to access by shuttle bus from Fukuyama Station on the Shinkansen 30 minutes. It was an inn that I wanted to visit again.

When I looked for a place to stay in Tomonoura, I found only 3 one solid inn, including Tomonoura and its affiliated inns. Tomonoura was on the east coast of Tomonoura. Our rooms are on the upper floors and we have a great view of the Seto Inland Sea from the large windows. Right in front of you, there were Senzukuri Island and Hyakunuki Island, and we could see the Seto Inland Sea and the island 々 farther away. Tsuganoura is a port town that has prospered since ancient times as a ”port waiting for the tide”, but you can clearly see the flow of the sea due to the ebb and flow of the tide. I was very satisfied with these best scenery and delicious meals centered on fresh seafood in the Seto Inland Sea. There are 3 floors and 2 top floors. I went to the open-air bath with a view on the top floor early in the morning, but the wind was strong and the building was fluttering and I was uncomfortable. I think you can enjoy the spectacular view when there is no wind.

The price was reasonable even if there was an open-air bath in the room, the rooftop open-air bath and the open-air bath in the room were good, and the temperature of the hot water was perfect. Needless to say, the fish center dinner was full of breakfast items, and the taste was very good. Helpful 々, unscrambled raw flowers. It was a good city to spend a leisurely time without too busy, and my parents were satisfied and it became a very good trip.
- Destination798117
The room is facing the Seto Inland Sea and can blow a comfortable sea breeze. My family and I did not book a room with a wind, but the public hot springs are very comfortable. The most satisfying of course is the hotel's dinner and breakfast, the fish dinner is really so aftertaste, fresh and big gold-eyed simply superb.

Located right in front of Setoda Port. Great as soon as the ferry arrived. The room is comfortable. The lights and the sink on the porch are both good. Although I don't often meet the staff outside of meals, I can feel their thoughtfulness throughout. The baskets they brought to the bath were especially popular with families. The famous lemon bath smells good and is a great experience. Dinner was quite large. The four types of sashimi were delicious. In terms of quantity, it might be okay to have 3 types. Also, the boiling may be a matter of personal preference, but the broth could be improved a little. Breakfast, this was great. It's especially refreshing to eat horse mackerel with green sea**** on top, so I think I'll try it when I get home. Suggestions for ways to eat that you wouldn't normally do. This is the real pleasure of traveling. Great bread and coffee service. I was a little tired of eating only Japanese food, so I'm glad. Moreover, a variety of breads, including donut bread, go well with coffee. Tsutsui is in a great location, close to the lemon cake shop Koeido, the croquette shop Oka Tetsu Shoten, the 100% satisfaction rate Kosanji Temple, and the Takotendon restaurant Chidori. Shimanami Dolce is far away, so you can rent a bicycle and go there to get a good sweat and eat some delicious gelato. Recommended when visiting Ikuchijima.

The room seemed to have changed the Japanese-style room to a Western-style room, but it was comfortable. It was a little different from ”Ocean View” ( ̄▽ ̄;) but it was fun to see the dock from the window. Above all, the food was so luxurious that I couldn't eat it. All of them were delicious with a lot of seafood.

This hotel offers so much more than a comfortable room. The complex includes a restaurant, bakery, cafe, shop and bike rental right on the water. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The room was small but had everything I needed. I was on the second floor facing the street but the room was quiet and private. Excellent in-room coffee and great linens. The bathroom is big(!) and complete with a shower and soaking tub. There are bikes set up on trainers for use by the guests and the hotel is minutes from the ferry for the start of the Shimanami Kaido. Onomichi U2 is a perfect mix of offerings in an ideal location.

This hotel is such a welcoming place. The staff always take really good care of us. We recently enjoyed our vacation there and the staff, Miss Okana and Filipino staff in charge of the dining room are really good care of us. I will always recommend this place to a friend.

The staff was very good, helped me take my luggage to the third floor, a little shaking stairs, very powerful 👍. The suitcase can be spread out, the space is large, the construction site wind, the place where my head pillow is above the unpacked beam, there are two wood, it feels not safe, I changed the side to sleep!

I have used it several times. The cleaning condition is always good, the sheets and futons are clean and comfortable, so you can sleep well. Moreover, you can feel good in a stylish space.

The hotel is located near Suwa Station in Mihara City. From Suwa Port near the hotel, you can take a boat to Ikuchi Island to visit the old house and museum of Hirayama Ikuo, as well as the Hill of the Future Heart, and then take a ferry or bus to the cultural heritage of Onomichi City. Visiting Guangji Temple, this journey can be said to have seen the most beautiful scenery of the Seto Inland Sea. The Hachiman Shrine next to the hotel is the place where Kobayakawa Takakage visited before his victory in the Great War. The Seto Inland Sea seen from the shrine is moving. In addition, the taste of the Japanese-style breakfast and dinner in the hotel is quite touching, and the attitude of picking up customers is very good, and they are also responsible for the pick-up and drop-off to Subway Station. Quite a comfortable trip.

I found this hotel with good access by ferry and used it when I was on a business trip to stay in the swamps of Ikuchijima for about a week. Looking at the map, I couldn't find any commercial facilities in the vicinity, and when I asked for two meals for one night so that I wouldn't have to struggle with my daily meals, I was surprised to find a lot of side dishes included! (This is less than 8,000 yen per night) There is a small coin laundry next to the entrance, which was very convenient and helpful. The scenery in front of the hotel is just like the Seto Inland Sea, so you can relax.
