"For a hotel to be so expensive, I’m surprised at such a stay. I don’t understand all the 5* reviews. The short pro list: - Nice location walking distance to food and entertainment - Beautifully decorated rooms and comfy bed - Large tub (if you request a room with a tub) - Helpful front desk staff The cons? Hmph. - Let’s start with how we accidentally left our baby’s super soft blanket in the room at checkout and I called right back to claim it but surprise surprise, “no one could locate it”. And it took days of repeated phone calls to even reach someone who could even tell me that. Merry Christmas to some employee’s baby I guess. - Breakfast was oatmeal packets and frozen wraps and sandwiches heated in the microwave. They had the nerve to charge $7 for a spinach wrap that was 3.5” long and previously frozen. And $4 for a Quaker microwaveable grits bowl. Nothing was made fresh except the smoothies which were more like juice. There’s no kitchen or restaurant in-house apparently. Order breakfast out. Thankfully, the manager (I think his name was Austin) comped our breakfast due to another mixup. I would been furious paying for that. - The elevator is the slowest elevator in existence. I could build an elevator from scratch before theirs completed its laborious one floor journey. But because we had a baby stroller, we had to use it. They have a sign in the elevator saying it moves slowly because it’s vintage. No. - The valet is almost $40 but slow. There was no valet guy on one morning of our stay and we were told to get our own car but by the time we got downstairs, he had shown up. We had to wait behind 3 or 4 other parties though to receive our car. It took about half an hour. - None of the rooms have windows to the outside. Well, I suppose the few that line the noisy street do but almost all of the hotel is located within a larger building so the only views are to a lobby/atrium below. I would not stay at this hotel again. Maybe I could overlook one or two of these issues but not all together. And definitely not the mysterious disappearance of our baby’s blanket. "
"We are residents of Charlotte NC however needed to utilize a venue to take engagement photos. When I came across The Ivey Hotel, I was instantly in love! From the booking experience to checking in to accommodating our photoshoot, this was hands down one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The guest room was beyond clean and so gorgeous. The features throughout the hotel from checking in to even inside the room was top of the line. Overall, if we ever needed another staycation, it would be at The Ivey Hotel for sure. And anyone traveling to Charlotte NC, book your hotel reservations at The Ivey! You won't be disappointed, PROMISE!!"
"For my first trip to Charlotte NC I choose the Ivey’s Hotel in downtown. Not knowing anything about the city I went on photos and reviews. It did NOT disappoint, in fact exceeded. From the reception to our room it was amazing. The hallways smelled good, and we walked into our room hearing relaxing music. Nice happy hour and the bar downstairs super cool. My only “complaint” would be I feel 38$ is a bit steep for valet parking, especially for hotel guests. "

"There aren’t enough positive words to express how impressed my husband and I were with this hotel. We’d never been to Charlotte before and were unsure what to expect. Before we arrived, the hotel reached out several times to see if they could assist with any dinner reservations or other arrangements. Pula asked several questions about our preferences, and when we arrived we found we had been upgraded to a beautiful suite with welcome treats to enjoy during our stay. The room was gorgeous- newly updated, very, very spacious and quiet. The bed was comfortable, the housekeeping staff unobtrusive and precise. The highlight tho was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We felt like royalty, and left the hotel anxious to return."
"We stayed for the weekend, we were treated like royalty room was great meals were excellent if in Charlotte the place to stay. We were there for the Andre Bouchelle concert. You are surrounded by great Resturant’s am things to see. Ask to stay on the garden side of the hotel it is quieter because of construction on the trolley tracts. If you want leave your car at Concord Mills and call a car service to take you in and out of downtown. (980) 272-1140 Great service ask for Jerry great guy."
"Spent the week at the Ritz and service was excellent. In addition to great bar staff, the Bar Cocoa coffee and dessert area is excellent. You must try the Almond Coffee which is an excellent treat! Look forward to going back!"

"es, five stars all the way for me. I stayed here for 4 nights and loved every moment of it. From the amazing service to the charming vibe of this historic hotel, I am at a loss by the mixed reviews. They are currently going through renovations on some of their floors but even the work crews were super friendly and nice. Service: From the moment I arrived every single staff member I encountered was so nice and welcoming, always checking to see how I was doing or if I needed anything. I absolutely loved the you man who was walking around checking on the different floors and doing housekeeping/cleanup along with the young lady who does turn down service. Common areas: So charming and like stepping back in time, they stay on top of the cleaning, which has to be particularly hard during a renovation. The bar and restaurant were fantastic as well, as I had a great mean at The Asbury one evening. They only had one operational elevator during my stay but that was no big deal, as there are only 60 rooms I believe. Room: I was on the 9th floor and loved my room. It was clean, super comfortable and adorably decorated. Sleep quality was on point and I loved the robes, toiletries and the Ghiradelli chocolate they put on the bed for turn down service. My only disappointment was not having any ghost encounters as I was reading that room 906 is haunted along with the floor. Parking: There is a very easily accessible parking garage with reserved parking spots for guests right as you come in off of 6th. You get a ticket, and you MUST take it in and get it validated to pay the $23 self parking fee. It is $2 bucks more if you do not know that and just stick it in the machine upon exit without validation. I did not know that for three days, but the staff was wonderful and took the 3 days parking off of my room since I had paid directly. Location: right downtown within walking distance of so much. I loved walking a block each morning to get my Starbucks fix. I would totally stay here again if I am ever back in Charlotte."
"The hotel is a historic landmark in Uptown Charlotte, and it feels like you're stepping back in time once inside. It even had that "old smell" to it, which added to the charm of it, in my opinion. I chose the vintage queen room, and it was perfect. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed comfortable! You can't see it from my pictures, but there is a sitting area in front of the bed with the tv mounted on the wall. I took advantage of the room service, which was pretty fast and the food good. I was in room 605. I definitely plan to stay here again."
"Great little hotel. Staff was very friendly, and willing to help on a moments notice. Great location in downtown Charlotte. Can pretty much walk everywhere. Highly recommended if you don't want to stay at a big name place."

"I really enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt House Charlotte Airport. Great updates to the property, great job on the fence and heated pool. Pool table and large life size connect 4 . 50 cent wings were great . cool warm bar with great music all and all great stay."
"This hotel is definitely showing its age. Interior lightening is dim to dark, the staff were friendly but couldn’t care much about Covid. They did don their mask but wore then underneath their chin rather than covering their nose and mouth. Folks loitering on the parking lot. This was experienced during the early afternoon upon arrival and the evening when we went out for dinner. This place definitely will give you an unpleasant feeling. The hotel is showing its age. Room must not have been rented in a while as there were some spider webs lingering. Chrome cast didn’t work. Was happy our stay was short. Definitely won’t stay here again. This place is not what a loyal Hyatt customer would expect. Trust me, stay elsewhere. "
"Overall I had a great experience and felt clean and safe during the pandemic. Staff were very hospitable and warm. I enjoyed the apartment-like style setup of the room. Parking was convenient and entries were accessible."

"Was traveling to Charlotte for a Saturday afternoon and night of leisure. This hotel was in a perfect location with access to plenty of bars/restaurants in Uptown. Being an IHG member I was upgraded to a suite which was very nice! Spent time at the rooftop pool which was very relaxing to sunbath and cool off. The pool is 3.5 ft all the way around. The hotel staff was amazing with COVID precautions and customer service. I ordered room service for breakfast on Sunday morning and the food was great. I had an omlette with potatoes and toast while the misses had waffles. I would highly recommend this hotel!"
"This hotel is in a phenomenal location in uptown Charlotte. About two blocks away from the Epicentre and Spectrum Center. The front desk staff was phenomenal and even made the check in process fun. Room was nice and clean, zero complaints at all. However, we were in a room in the 320s which directly faces College St. Until past 3 AM it sounded like a drag strip/ race track outside, people yelling etc. Also I found it frustrating that the curtains couldn’t be closed all the way to block out the streetlights. They were designed this way on purpose. I realize there’s nothing the hotel can do about outside noise, but you may want to do yourself a favor and ask for a room as far away from the street as possible if that’s even an option. "
"This was a perfect place to stay for our one night getaway to Charlotte to attend a concert nearby. We checked in after taking the morning train from Durham to Charlotte. Found a nearby restaurant for mid afternoon snack and walked over to the performance venue to pick up our tickets at the box office. We were able to walk to the concert later in the evening. Comfortable accommodations and convenient locations would definitely bring us back to this hotel."
