You are paying for the view. Full stop. The view is outstanding. But the service and staff obviously hate their jobs, and people. The rooms are pleasant, but the balcony view makes staying here worthwhile. Sunset over the valley with views of tiede are immense. Being based in the area for the hiking is also brilliant as the hiking options are many and all outstanding. Unfortunately the service at the cafe and at brekfast is beyond poor. The staff would rather you were not there, or alive. Extremely slow and when they are compelled to take your order they are grumpy and show how much they hate it. This was the case both in the brekfast hall and the hotel cafe. The food was good, but not really worth the wait. It’s a shame as with an improved service it would be a great place to stay. Alternatively enjoy the view during the day on a hike and find somewhere else to stay.

Location and views out of this world. Traditional, comfortable, Spanish hotel with waiter service restaurant on half board. Very clean and has good hygiene routines. Good beds, pillows and linen, large bathroom and great sunset balcony. Staff professional and helpful. Spacious lounge and communal terrace. Only disadvantage is that at lunchtime the cafe bar totally fills up with non-resident cyclists and walkers, some even wander about the hotel exploring!

Very tasty country hotel, very quiet, very suitable for escape. The lack of beauty needs to be improved, the shower head is broken, the water temperature is unstable, and the dinner is generally

Reviews From Real Travelers
This was a one night stay before picking up the cruise ship Azamara Onward. To get to check-in, you have to go up one storey from ground level by climbing a fancy set of entrance steps. There is a 1970s ”baggage lift” to the rhs, and if you have a disability you can use that, but it has no sides, and moves at a snails pace whilst your finger has to stay on the button. This lack in investment speaks volumes about this hotel. I was given a superior room due to loyalty scheme status, but it was nothing special. The air con was noisy, and the room lacked charging points. The mattress wasn't that great, and the bedding was musty. Dinner in the 23rd floor restaurant was a farce. The restaurant was fairly full with cruise guests on a dinner package that included a buffet and drinks. Rather than allowing us to pay for the same buffet, we were forced to choose from a very limited overpriced restaurant menu. The food was disgusting. The extremely processed food ”burger” was still raw in the middle; the hake was aslso still raw in the middle and both had to be sent back to the kitchen. They couldn't even cook the chips. My travel companion said that breakfast in the morning was even more of a disaster - not enough seats for the guests, nor enough food out. Would I stay here again? Well, I used Marriott points, so it was free. If I was paying for it, I'd want my money back.....

The room is clean and tidy, very close to the bus stop and the beach and the commercial street, friends who want to live in the north can choose!
