Pros - The suite is very historic. The wood paneling in the living area is very unique and overall the suite is a good size. The history of the room is fascinating. There’s a plaque listing a very impressive list of prior guests. If your a political junkie like me, it’s pretty cool to stay in a room that both JFK and MLK have stayed in. Cons - Where to begin... for starters the main bedroom has a strong odor of cigarette smoke that is so pervasive that myself and my bride (it was our wedding weekend) were forced to sleep in the smaller bedroom. I informed the staff twice of this issue and they did make some attempt to fix it, but overall hinted that this was a known issue and there wasn’t much they could do to fix it. I’m sorry but for close to $500 a night this is not acceptable. The room should have been checked before arrival and if this is a known issue the room shouldn’t be made available until the issue is resolved. It shows a real lack of standards on the part of the hotel. Beyond the stale cigarette oder that fills the master bedroom and bath, the room is just not properly kept up. There are visible stains on the armrests of the sofas and the bath tub had a large piece chipped off. Also if you have anything to throw a way, I hope you enjoy walking long distances because hilariously there are only two trash bins in a suite that hosts 2.5 baths and a kitchenette. It’s beyond me how you can have two bathrooms with zero trash receptacles. It again just goes to show the complete lack of care and service. On another note, every closet in the suite is filled with standalone fans so I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that it’s probably not very comfortable in summer. COVID safety - it’s 2020 so I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention this. Marriott’s commitment to clean sounds wonderful. Regrettably, words on a website are completely useless if your staff on the ground level doesn’t follow through. If you are COVID conscious do not stay at this hotel. Guests do not comply with face mask requirements and from what I saw, hotel staff does not enforce these standards. I’ll sum it up by saying I more than once saw maskless guests talking to mask-less employees (masks around their chins) immediately in front of a sign stating masks are required. All in all a disappointing stay in a room that was probably once great but is now rundown. While I appreciate willingness to assist by one staff member, the service fell short of expectations. If you have a high value room in your hotel, give a little extra push in your service standards. Check the room before guest arrival, don’t sell rooms that aren’t up to standard, and most importantly don’t let a guest leave disappointed with a 1000 charge for a two night stay that was not even comfortable. If you value a clean and comfortable room, do yourself a favor and and stay elsewhere.

I have always been impressed with this brand and this location continues that opinion. When making the reservation I was asked why I was in Peoria and told her it was for my high school child to visit Bradley. When checking in, the woman was polite and spoke positive of Bradley and hoped we had a good time. All staff was pleasant and polite. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Beds were good. Bathroom was larger than expected and in spectacular condition. Not many other people were staying on a Friday night, which made it seem quiet. We did not use the pool or exercise room. There was some hot breakfast served by staff. Breakfast was simple, but it was fine. Shopping and some restaurants are a very short drive. If this is your first time to Peoria and this hotel, getting to it is a bit of a trick. From the west, you cross the Illinois River bridge and exit I-74. You then circle around some stores and restaurants, go back under the bridge and arrive. The hotel is beside a Bass Pro. If my child attends Bradley, I'm 102 percent sure we will stay here on visit weekends. Great stay!

I stayed at this hotel for work 2 times in the last month and I could not be more pleased with my experience. From the pleasant clerks at the front desk to the managements professionalism and customer service follow ups, it has simply been a great experience and any time I am in the area for work or personal I will stay at this hotel. Very impressed and a job well done by the entire staff.

I have been staying at this Marriott Courtyard location 2x/week since December 2022 to date. Excellent, Excellent customer service! The staff, each and every one of them was extremely friendly, professional, kind and extremely accommodating. The hotel itself is clean and well kept. I highly recommend this location when traveling too or through Peoria, IL
