Me and my partner Jenna got married here then stayed the night and it was a fantastic day/experience. We had around 60 guests with more coming in the evening and everything went perfectly no thanks to Harriet and the main man Stefan ! Im not sure if these guys work every wedding but you need to ask for them as they were brilliant. Always had a drink in our hands, guiding us from here to there making sure we were on time, and anything we needed we just had to ask and 30 seconds later it was done. They really helped make our day special. The hotel itself was also great, really well looked after grounds against a stunning backdrop of St Ives, and very tidy inside. We have absolutely no complaints at all with the hotel or staff, if we were to get married again, we would pick Tregenna in a heartbeat. Also a special thank you to the security man on the gate, great guy and he drove my disabled mum around in a golf buggy all day and made her feel like the queen.

we have just returned from Tregenna castle after a 2 night stay for a family wedding. Firstly, the resort is stunning, the grounds are well tended. The staff were very friendly and the service was fantastic. The food at the wedding was exceptional. We all commented that it was quite an achievement to serve such good quality food to a large volume of people, but they absolutely did. The breakfast both mornings was just as good. We thought the drink prices were very reasonable. So why not 5 stars? The room let it all down. We were in room 113 and had a very very small double bed that was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever tried to sleep on. We did ask to move rooms after the first failed night sleep but the hotel was full and they couldn't accommodate this. It was such a shame as we couldn't fault any other aspect of the hotel. If these dreadfully small uncomfortable beds were replaced, this would be a fantastic place to stay.

I stayed in a double room on the first floor and the view of the harbour from the bay window was picturesque. The room was comfy and everything worked (TV, heating, WiFi etc). The ensuite was compact (you wouldn't be able to swing ”The Mousehole Cat” in there), albeit was clean and the shower was good. All the staff were pleasant and hospitable. Notably the waitress who served me breakfast on both mornings was super. Breakfast was appetizing and I thoroughly enjoyed my evening meal; it was all very good quality. Also, serving food from late afternoon is a real plus. Thank you to all at the Ship Inn, who made my few days away very enjoyable. The weather was pretty parky and bright, which made Mousehole so charming. Regards IC

Well the good news is that all the staff were absolutely lovely and as helpful as they could be. However there seems to be a real communication problem between the booking system and the Ship itself so that the ”superior seaview double room” I booked ended up with me in a very grubby and worn single room in the annexe next door. Not impressed! Especially as, for out of season, the tariff was pretty expensive... Also, this lovely old historic building is definitely not for those with poor balance or mobility... lots of stairs and uneven floors Sorry to be negative, Ship's staff, because you did try to put things right so maybe I'll give you another go sometime and hope things are better.... much much better...

Ground floor room with shower, compact one small wardrobe, no kng size bed which nowadays are pretty well standard, my bedside table collapse, cheap self assembly. The Hotel as steps at entrance and steps inside to bar and dining room. Rather small lift to other floors. Breakfast self service for hot & cold food, down steps to dining room, meals average neither good or bad. We think they are packing too many Coach Tours at one time, causing meal times to be variable and not consistent.

The hotel is slightly dated but this is not an issue. The rooms are very dirty and clearly have not been cleaned for ages. The bathroom is awfully dirty and the toilet bowl still had the previous guests mess. No ventilation, carpets with stains, tv doesn’t work properly. Parking is a major issue. We requested our room be cleaned during our stay and the only thing that was done was our beds. Nothing else was even touched. No coffee left in ou room and the bins were not even emptied. We had a sugar sachet on the floor in the corridor near our room and a week later was still there. We didn’t even tempt the food as how disgusting the cleanliness was. We cleaned our bathroom with products we bought from Tesco. For the price that we were charged not worth it as much better places for same price or cheaper. Stay away.

We had three nights here in preparation for a coastal walk. The hotel has an air of faded grandeur about it, mixed with a whiff of 1970s council offices, but the staff try hard to make the stay memorable. Our room was at the back of the hotel, so rather than a sea view, we had a good view of the neighbourhood cats. It was comfortable enough, however, and clean. Breakfast was very good and set us up well for our days of walking. A sea view would make the stay better, but you could do a lot worse. The location, however, cannot be faulted.

The hotel is older but very clean, elegant in style, and very good service attitude. There is an afternoon tea/wine area in the lobby. The rooms are well-equipped, with strong water pressure and comfortable beds. Breakfast is a classic English breakfast, coffee or tea will be given to a big pot, beans are delicious.
