I recently had to cancel my reservation at The Fairhaven Hotel due to an unexpected illness, and unfortunately, my experience with their customer service has left much to be desired. The hotel’s cancellation policy was not flexible enough to accommodate my circumstances, which was quite disappointing. I understand that policies are in place for a reason, but a little compassion in times of need would have gone a long way. The hotel itself may have great amenities and a lovely atmosphere, but my experience with their handling of cancellations has overshadowed any positive aspects. I would advise potential guests to carefully consider the cancellation policy before booking, especially if there’s a chance that plans may change unexpectedly. Overall, while I cannot speak to the quality of the stay, my interaction with the hotel regarding my cancellation has left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. I hope they can improve their customer service approach in the future.

Hotel’s location great, close to seafront and town centre. The room smelt a but funny as you walked in and I would not have been able to open the window without my boyfriends help. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest it looked like someone tried to flush a teabag down the toilet and it was stuck on the bottom. The water pressure on the 3rd floor was absolutely rubbish, it would’ve been easier to have a wash in the sink. We did request a room with a bath tub, which we didn’t get, but on the other hand the hotel had a little outdoor garden with sauna and hot tub which we did use for additional £20/person and we did not regret it! Also the young man on the reception was extremely helpful.

Check in ended at 6 pm, the email sent by the hotel did not pay attention, and the result was to the hotel entrance iron general to the door. No way, I can knock on the door hard, but the owner has been waiting, the moment I opened the door, my heart hanging down. The owner is an English gentleman who is very enthusiastic and helped us lift our luggage upstairs, and also introduced us to the dinner location and cheap parking locations. In particular, the hotel breakfast is very good, the owner is very responsible for taking care of the guests, we are very satisfied. I feel that the owner is especially enthusiastic about Chinese guests (actually he is very good to all guests) because he has a Beijing wife. Although this time she returned to Beijing and did not have a chance to meet, but a cross-ocean phone call brought our feelings closer. I sincerely hope that all the compatriots who snort overseas will prosper, and we will definitely top you again if we have the opportunity.

I stayed at the George with my son for one night, and it was everything we needed. The beds were comfy, the service was efficient and very friendly, with appropriate Covid measures in place to make us feel comfortable and safe. Everything was very clean, including our shared bathroom. Due to Covid, the breakfast room was closed, so breakfast was brought to our room, and was fine - bacon bap, croissant, etc. As you would expect from a many-roomed guest house, there was a bit of TV noise from adjoining rooms, but nothing that disturbed us, and my son enjoyed the large TV screen! A short walk from the front and reasonable prices made this an excellent choice for us.

After extremely liking the service and room upon first visit we decided to book a second time one week later on passing through for another nights rest. Still the staff remained wonderful and the price, room , quallity and  nIce amenities remained incredible for a last minute booking!

The aunt at the front desk was very good at the service. I saw that we brought the children. Although the room was small, we tried to make room and add extra bed. The surrounding area is very quiet and parking is free. The restaurant service couldn't keep up. We had to repeat the demand several times. At dinner, other guests will sit down and serve the bread immediately. But we have to ask. So, I don’t think it’s like sloppy!

Also the young man on the reception was extremely helpful.
