Brantfell House

This cozy bed and breakfast house was chosen for our hiking group in Ambleside by the tour company arranging our travel, and I was very glad they did. Mandy met us at the door and reviewed how the house and breakfast work. She assigned us our rooms, and ours was on the top floor. We had a few flights of stairs to climb, but since we were there to hike it was not a problem. Thankfully, Adie carried our bags up! The room was very comfortable. We had a separate sitting room which was nice. The bathroom had a great shower. We slept well in the beds. Adie was an excellent host. He gave us so much information about the town and had been on many of the trails. He clearly enjoyed visiting with the guests and sharing Ambleside with us. Mandy cooked up delicious breakfasts. The eggs were always perfectly cooked. We had choices from the full English breakfast, fruits, croissants oatmeal. The food was elegantly plated, the coffee and tea delicious. The House is located across from the park with easy access to the trails, the restaurants, and public transit. I would definitely recommend the Brantfell house to my friends and stay here again.

The best thing about this place are the couple who run it. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you with anything they can. We found this place very clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. Would stay here again for sure.

We stayed at Brantfell House for 2 nights this week as part of a 7-day circular walk around the lakes. This was our favourite place out of all the accommodations. The hosts are a lovely couple who couldn’t do enough for us including finding free parking for our car while we walked. The breakfast is out of this world and the rooms are very comfortable. The accommodation cannot be faulted and we much preferred this smaller hostelry over the bigger ones we stayed at where there is no personal touch. Highly recommend!

We stayed on 2 separate nights (the beginning and end of the Lakes Inn Way), though we have stayed twice in the past on other walks. This is a constantly good guest house. The hosts (Aide and Mandy) are very welcoming and are very knowledgeable about the local area. Breakfast is really good and there is an imaginative choice that isn't just a full english (though the full english is well worth having). The rooms are cean and comfortable with everything you need for a stay For walkers, the packed lunch is probably the best value for money you will find. We'll likely be going back

Lovely stay with the three of us. Mandy and Adie are such great hosts, every morning a fun and nice chat during the extensive breakfast served by Adie. Rooms are very clean and nice to relax with a cup of tea after walking in the beautiful surroundings at the Lakes National Park

This was our first stay at an AirB&B and we were not disappointed. Mandy and Adie were great hosts. Breakfast was delicious and room was very clean. The only downside was that parking was very limited, however we found a parking spot in the street and Adie gave us a parking permit which we could use for the whole day. Would stay here again if in the area.

Just the one night on C2C. A pity it could not have been longer because it was a great stay. Mandy and Aide are the perfect hosts. A very warm welcome, helpful advice about the town and a first rate breakfast including a perfect poached egg! Thank you.

We have just returned from a fantastic night in Ambleside at Brantfell House. The owners Aidi and Mandy were such lovely people. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such warmth and they were so helpful. The room we stayed in was outstanding. So clean, modern with little personal touches. The breakfast next day was very tasty and cooked to perfection by Aidi who made us laugh so much. What a character. Thank you both for making our stay so special.
