In brief, we were disappointed of our stay in this house which we expected (from other advises and their web site) to be a warm B&B . In fact, all seems managed by a PC (code for the keys, instruction for car park by Whats App and bill received by mail,...). Poor breakfast. Otherwise, lovely and quiet house.

We booked the whole hotel for a reunion, including a private dinner and used the front room for drinks. Approx 20 guests. It worked brilliantly. Flexible and supportive booking and checking in process. Planning the menu with Chris the chef was great and the food was delicious. We were able to organise a bespoke prepaid drinks bar including cocktails which worked really well. Those staying had a very comfortable room and a great stay.

I was lucky enough to win a two night stay here which was amazing but despite that I will always give an honest review. I will 100% recommend this place for anyone staying in the area. Less than 10 mins to Stonehenge, 20 mins from Salisbury town and 40 mins from Longleat safari park and it is situated in the cutest little village. We got the warmest welcome when we arrived and were given room 15 which was right at the top of the building. It had a huge comfy bed with lovely pillows and duvet, a table and chairs, plenty of storage, tv and tea and coffee making facilities. It was clean and had everything we needed including lovely extras such as an air con unit. My 6ft fiance had to duck under the door frames and some beams but is expected in an older house. Was nice to have a bath and shower options and both were lovely and warm. My fiance couldn't fit in the shower due to being 6ft again but he prefers a bath anyway. We slept like babies. We went downstairs to the cellar for a lovely breakfast. Lovely warm greeting, tea and coffee available long with a choice of juice, oats, fruit, yoghurts, honey, Nutella, bread for toast, warm crossaints and pain au chocolates and also the choice of cooked breakfast. First morning I had smash avo and scrambled eggs on toast and the second I had a mini fry up both were cooked beautifully! The only thing It was missing was sausages!. They offer hen do packages where you can stay there and also use the cellar as a party/games room which would be super cute for a more chilled out hen party. We visited piazza Italian whilst we were there which is a short walk. They do stunning food along with a cute little bakery called Reeve's which did the most amazing selection of sandwiches and cakes and lovely coffee. If we ever need to stay in Wiltshire again we will definitely be staying here! Thankyou for a lovely stay!

An incredible place to stay in Amesbury and a perfect base to see so many places both interesting and historical in the area. The rooms are so lovely, large and comfortable. The hosting and staff are delightful. The food was gorgeous. It really does feel like a home away from home and I need to go back again soon as there are so many things to see and discover in the area.

An unforgettable escape! I had the privilege of spending a magical weekend in Wiltshire on a Walking and Arts retreat that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was met with warm, exceptional hospitality that made me feel instantly at home. Every detail was thoughtfully curated—from the most delectable, soul-warming meals to the cozy and inviting accommodations that provided every comfort imaginable. The retreat itself was a perfect blend of relaxation, creativity, and exploration, offering a serene base to discover the wealth of attractions and hidden gems this beautiful region has to offer. This place is truly a treasure, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking inspiration, adventure, or simply a restorative getaway.

Approaching a pretty Georgian house, you imagine a warm welcome and a friendly chat, but check-in and out are digital and no-one is there. I was astonished to return to the room at the end of the day to find that it had not been cleaned and the bed had not been made. There was someone around the next morning, who said they don't go into bedrooms without permission(!) and if I wanted it cleaned I shoud have put the other side of the do not disturb sign outside - there was nothing to say this was compulsory. The small double room was adequate for one, but there is very little storage space and it would be cramped for two. The kettle didn't switch itself off and the lid kept popping open as it boiled which is a hazard. Despite my having checked out online and stated that I would be leaving at 10.30, someone came into the room at 10.00.

Pros: Nice building and comfy bed Cons: Wallpaper peeling, lack of parking (told to park in doctors surgery up the road and when we went back to our car in the morning there was a very curt note telling us not to park there), no cooked breakfast (despite being told cooked items were available), broken toilet seat, only 1 free socket at floor level, no bedside cabinets, poor coffee and tea selection (most hotels charging £170 a night have at least a coffee pod machine or put 2 x packets of biscuits or 2 x hot chocolate sachets in the room), check in is a very convoluted and complicated process, no Netflix despite tv saying there was, very poor WiFi, shower slippery and needed a bath mat or anti slip stickers in it...I think that's it!

Liked ·Good size room, bathroom and bed. Huge TV on the wall which was good. Clean sheets and comfy bed. Fan provided in the room which was fantastic. Disliked · Lack of sockets in the room. Redecoration is required. Front door very noisy and can disturb. No human interaction throughout the stay. Breakfast was a huge disappointment, Bacon sandwich or small croissants, fruit juices on the final dregs, not the breakfast expected for a hotel or bed and breakfast.

This review is based on room 16. Overall it was an adequate B&B and we would go there again just ask for a different room. We had asked for a twin room and ours was described as ‘luxury twin’. The room itself was a decent size I would describe as shabby chic. The bed was a link 6ft one, not the type of twin we were expecting as there was no space between the beds and it was made up as a double. No bedside tables, instead a shelf too high up to reach in the night, tricky too with hot drinks which were provided. As a super king double it was comfortable with fresh white bed linen. Bathroom was modern and a good size with large walk in shower and good towels. The carpet in the bedroom has seen better days and I did not walk on it with bare feet. The room is on the ground floor at the front just inside the front door. You could hear the bell clearly, all the conversation in the tiny reception area and the front door was literally behind the bed head. Far from quiet. We were woken every time someone went in and out. A soft close mechanism might assist but you will still hear any talking and the bell. The staff were friendly and a room in the main house did seem preferable when reading the reviews about the annex. Parking is not on site but very close by. Breakfast was more than adequate for us. Hot and cold options were on offer. Coffee was fresh and for our taste perfect…not too bitter.
