We had a great time at Huasquila. It seems pretty far off the beaten path. The food is good. The bar is good. The pool is good. The rooms are great. We had no mosquitos and even slept with the doors open one night. If you want a great tour of the jungle, try to get Rafa.

Such a beautiful lodge in the Amazon rainforest! Lovely staff, great accommodations, delicious food. We even got to experience a thunderstorm, which was a dream come true. The nature walks were gorgeous and educational as well! Amazing place!

The lodge is charming. It's super rustic, the staff doesn't speak English. The accommodations are bare bones. Shower has only occasional hot water, there's no AC and in many cases not even a fan. Bugs throughout. One pillow per person, one towel per person, all shoes left outside so bugs don't crawl in. But you've got a very caring staff, delicious food all included, a fair priced bar & adequate pool, free wellington boots for trips- assume there's no wifi for connectivity or excursions. Be clear- This is the SECONDARY RAINFORST. The a**osphere is cool but there's no wildlife to speak of- bugs mostly. No creatures, or promised wildlife. We took way too many trips to see spiders, ants, and caterpillars. Wouldn't visit again just because there's nothing to see. The time I spent there was quite nice.

At first, the lodge entrance with pond and sitting areas gives an excellent impression. Unfortunately, there are some issues with cleanliness and housekeeping. Rooms were poorly cleaned and not cleaned daily. Towels and bedding were in need of replacement - thin and worn. Pool was full of leaves and sand- not cleaned daily. A few people from our tour became ill - GI symptoms. Staff were pleasant, could speak some English, but were few in numbers and overworked. There were many stairs that were somewhat slippery due to moss. Resort was challenging for those with limited physical abilities.

Most wonderful experience! Enjoyed every minute of my stay. Christian at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. Enjoyed excursion with Miguel. His stories were informative, personal and entertaining.
I hope to be back next year.

I can't say enough great things about our experience here. Our hosts at the Lodge were so accommodating and warm, the food was great, being immersed in the rain forest was unforgettable, & getting to meet and interact with the indigenous peoples of this area made it all perfect. One can't help but be affected, for the better, when you see how simply and harmoniously these beautiful, gentle people live with Mother Nature. So grateful to everyone at Huasquila Amazon Lodge for taking such amazing care of us. Mahalo 🤙🏽

If you are searching for a lodge in the jungle, huasquila is the perfect choice. The food is excellent and there is options for vegetarians and vegans: it’s also local products and specialities from the region. We were also treated like queens by the staff and they are just so nice and sweet with every one. It’s really clean and you can sleep while hearing the sound of the jungle. The activities are perfect, we wish we could have stayed longer than 4 days because we juste had so much fun and we learn so much about the indigenous community about the jungle (faune and flore) and more just about the history of the region. Also, if you need an English guide, ask for Miguel because he was just the best : he always answered our questions and if he didn’t know he would check and come back with the answer later, he had anecdotes for everything, he was interested about us and than he would give us more information about that, etc.

Huasquila Amazon lodge is a very special place, the location is beautiful in a reforested area of the jungle, the team is phenomenal from Christian to Rafael, the cook (can not remember her name) and Cleber. Also, Ms. Cecilia and Mr. Juan made us feel very special and always taking care of us. The food was excellent and finally the lodge is managed ecologically friendly. We can highly recommend and would come back next time we are in Ecuador.

This was a great place. Good food amazing helpful staff. The tour I did with Miguel Suarez was much more than I expected. He is very knowledgeable about his country interested in what you want from a tour, not just this what we will do. He met with me the night before to discuss what I wanted to see and do. I am 71 and use a cane, explained wasn’t sure I could get in the boat for a nature tour, he assured me he would help me. He tatlored my tour for me, got in out of boat with his assistance, did not pressure me to do the included nature walk wearing rubber boots. Went to a cultural tour answering all my questions. Had a wonderful lunch with him pointing out various birds animals we saw from the restaurant. I would recommend him to anyone wanting a safe tour tailored to your ability’s and interests.
