Overall, it was not bad. The streets were a bit noisy much of the night, but eventually quieted down. Since it was pretty hot, the fan and open windows were nice. Also, it was great to have onsite parking. Right across from Fuggerai.

Nice for the price and had lots of room. Just needs a little updating.

Ich muss ehrlich zugeben, einige negative Bewertungen verstehe ich nicht.
Wenn man nicht das Ritz-Carlton bucht, kann man weder den Service noch die Ausstattung erwarten.
Wir waren vom 02.12.-09.12 im Jakoberhof.  Das Check-In verlief ohne Probleme. Das Zimmer und das Badezimmer waren sauber und ordentlich. Das Frühstück war gut, mehr als vier Sorten Wurst, zwei Sorten Käse nutze ich morgens auch nicht. Dazu kommen noch diverse Marmeladen, Müsli, Joghurt, Obst etc. – was will man mehr?
Das Hotel liegt super zentral, die Fuggerei ist nur 5 Minuten entfernt und zum Dom braucht man zu Fuß gerade mal 20-25 Minuten.  


I have to honestly admit that I don't understand some of the negative reviews.
If you don't book the Ritz-Carlton, you can't expect the service or the facilities.
We stayed at the Jakoberhof from December 2nd to December 9th. Check-in went smoothly. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The breakfast was good, I don't use more than four types of sausage and two types of cheese in the morning. There are also various jams, muesli, yogurt, fruit, etc. - what more could you want?
The hotel is very centrally located, the Fuggerei is only 5 minutes away and it only takes 20-25 minutes to walk to the cathedral.


Das Preis Leistungen Verhältniss ist in Ordnung. Die Lage ist perfekt zum shoppen. 

The price-performance ratio is OK. The location is perfect for shopping.

We chose Jakober Hof for its prime location in Augsburg. Centrally located and within walking distance to the historic Fuggerie, downtown, Stadtmarkt, Rathaus Plaza and so much more. Our family that live in Augsburg giggled when we told them where we'd stayed our first night home, (in this family owned bed and breakfast versus the usual, large corporate hotel chain) but our experience couldn't have been more perfect.     I had not been back home to Augsburg in 40 years so I was looking for my sweet, old Augsburg... The Augsburg I remembered as a child growing up with my Oma, and that's what we found at Jakober Hof - This was a truly wonderful Bavarian Bed and Breakfast experience.     Although dorm-like, the room was huge and the bed was super comfortable. I especially loved the monogrammed bed linens and towel warmer in the bathroom. Everything was exceptionally clean and the innkeepers went to great lengths to ensure we had everything we needed to check in long after their front desk closed. You see, we didn't arrive until almost 2AM from Munich so it was really nice of them to provide (via e-mail) the code for us to pick up the key from their on-site keybox. The room featured plenty of storage, seating and there were flat-screen televisions in the room and, in the bathroom! I loved being able to sleep with the windows wide open to let in the cool, crisp autumn night air.     Breakfast in the restaurant was AMAZING... Just as I remembered growing up. Rolls, pastries, a nice assortment of meats and cheeses, soft-boiled eggs, juices, coffee and a great tea selection. I couldn't have been happier and the innkeepers seemed truly delighted to have us. They were very friendly, helpful and accommodating to all of our needs.Honestly, it felt like staying with family!     Parking was 6 euros extra for the night but it was conveniently located in the hof and just steps from the room. If you know this area of Augsburg, you know it's not easy to find off-street parking, especially at 2AM!    Although we transferred to the Dorint Hotel for the remaining 9 days of our visit to Augsburg, we only did so because that's where my parents were staying. However, for the trip we have planned to return to Augsburg next year, we'll gladly return to the Jakober Hof!

Nice little hotel - imaging a university dorm, and you’ll get a feel for it. It’s not a traditional type of hotel, the rooms are in a separate building. Perfectly comfy though - good shower, good heater, bed ok. I had to ask for extra blanket and I wish I had had an extra pillow.  Didn’t try breakfast. Communications were ok - they tried to be helpful with bus and tram info from Train station but they only gave me a part of the puzzle. In the end it’s not far, it’s 20 min in foot. If you want to take a bus it’s the 23 from the street to the left of the station (where Radastation is). Don’t go into Banhofstrassa, as the bus and trams there won’t take you to the hotel, which is on Fuggerei stop. You can get to Radaplatz and take the tram line 1, but for 3 euros you may prefer to walk. I was told taxi would have been 6 euros.   The hotel is 3 min walk to Rathausplatz and there are lots of places to eat nearby.   Anyway, for £55 a night it was fine. Don’t let your first impressions cloud your judgement. 

The hotel is located in front of the ”fuggery”. The Ausburger Center is ca.10-12 minutes walking distance. S-Bahn stop right in front of the house. Personal at entry and exit was very friendly! The 2* are located. No luxury,the rooms are very ”simple”. The rooms are not large,but clean and they had shower cabin and toilet. We paid for the DZ. 69.-€ plus 7.-€ p-P. for breakfast (select of bread,bread, sauce, Cheese etc. is very good) there was nothing to defect! Unfortunately, the mattresses were in our opinion too soft and the room temperature was too warm, whether the heating was not committed. In conclusion,whoever wants to refrain from ”luxury” is well ”accommodated” here If we visit Augsburg again,we will stay here again,in the hope that the mattresses have become better!!!
