Liked the entertainment, the cafe and the decor. Did not like that drain on tub was not working effectively. The mattress had huge valleys from being too worn. The drapes didn’t fully close and let in too much light. The safe key did not work properly—it was jamming.

Built in 1886 it has a 19th century elegance. This does come with some quirks, but, the rooms had a comfortable bed and workable bathroom. The hotel itself has live music in the bar/resturant, a decent place to eat breakfast (hotel prices), very efficient valet (expensive) and has high tea on most weekends (must reserve early). Overall this is not a bargain experience, but, pulls off old school elegance quite nicely. The location is great if you want enjoy 6th street, it is not in the middle of dirty 6th, but, just a few blocks walk away so you can enjoy the nightlife and retire to a calm quiet area to rest.

A bit dated, paint cracking in closet. Expected with age. Other than that, a loveky old hotel w. the most amazing chocolate cake in their bakery and mutant cinnamon rolls!

Everyone was helpful and the hotel is beautiful and historic. I look forward to visiting Austin and staying at The Driskill again. Also, location is near so many restaurants within walking distance.

Our stay at The Driskill was delightful. It’s a historic masterpiece. Our check in with Elina was very welcoming and she provided us with lots of local tips.

Room was spacious and clean. Quiet, even though we were near the elevator. Breakfast food and service was very good. Had a quality drink at the bar that evening.

I have stayed at many hotels and The Driskill is by far the best stay ever! The valet was amazing and made it so easy, the front desk was so nice and quick to assist. The room was beautiful as was all of the historic features, staying in a museum with the full experience at my fingertips. Will be staying any time I am in Austin

Our stay was wonderful! The room was immaculate and fresh. Loved the Christmas atmosphere through and the valet staff were great. Would definitely plan another stay.

We stayed for only one-night. This was our second stay at the Driskill. It's a beautiful historic hotel that is well-maintained and still feels luxurious. It has the amenities you would expect from such a hotel, and the dining options are very good. The staff is friendly and professional. I look forward to staying again.

Everything was great from the staff, the valet to the hotel itself. The only thing didn't like too much was the feeling of being unsafe outside of the hotel at night.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas, friendly, welcoming staff, unique historical building. The hotel also smelled amazing!

My wife and I stay at The Driskill every year before the craziness of Christmas with family coming over. The hotel is so beautiful during the holodays with its gigantic tree in the lobby. Locals know about it and flock in to take photos and seflies in front of the tree. It is just lovely. My only concern this time was things in my room just felt dingy. Just because this is a historical building doesnt mean it shouldn't feel clean. The bed was also rock hard. I hate leaving a mediocre review because the hotle is lovely.

This will be part of our holiday experience as often as we come to Austin. It is such a special place especially at Christmas.

Lots of history here. Great location for 6th street bar scene. Hotel bar is amazing. Prices of hotel, restaurant, and bar are high. Had to do elevator swap each time, but it is an older building, so i get it.
