Griya Shanti Villas & Spa

Our stay was amazing. The staff were 100% attentive 100% of the time. Prooerty needs slight updating & food could be better. Still highly recommended & I would return if I was back in Ubud.

This review is a reflection of our 4 nights stay in September 2023. The good: 1. The property was pretty and nicely landscaped. 2. The grounds were clean and the gardens well maintained. 3. The villa was clean and had spacious rooms and bathrooms. 4. Complimentary dinner and 30 minutes massage were good. 5. It had a cosy balcony restaurant with attentive staff and nice vies of the valley. 6. Friendly and helpful staff.  7. Peaceful and remote location with a courtusy suttle service to town. Not so good: 1. Inclusive breakfast: basic and came in small portions. 2. The property: being positioned on a steep sloping down land involved  climbing lots of stairs. Lack of signage was confusing for getting around. 4. Our Villa Tunjung: No suitcase stand for our lugguage. Mine was on the bed and my friend had his suitcase on the floor. All locks on the sliding doors were hard to operate. The recessed door handles were made of metal and had sharp edges. I cut my fingers twice when tried locking the front door. The bed's timber frame was too big for the mattres so the hard ends of the frame kept on painfully bruising my shins. The second bathroom had no shower, just a bathtub with no screen so the floor got flooded with every use. No electrical wall sockets next to my bed so it was impossible for me to charge and use my devices at the same time when having a rest. Unhyginec pillows - we requested way in advance mould free environment. All of my 4 bed pillows were mouldy and one had brown stains (blood?). 2 were eventually replaced after a significant  wait time. WiFi and internet: Weak WiFi signal, internet kept disconnecting. Value for money: We felt that $320 AUD  per night was too pricy for what it was.

At first there are not too many villas for 4 people around. Great service and great staff. 3 times a day shuttle service to Ubud compensates distance. We were not interested in Ubud night life. The nature is around and it is very tranquil. Kids enjoyed the private pool. Breakfast was good for us and also for kids.

Our stay at Griya Shanti vill has been unbeatable. Everything in the villa is perfect. Starting with the staff. They are very nice and help you in all that they can to feel you at home, specially Dian. The room are very confortable and the breakfast and food are really good. Nuestra estancia en Griya Shanti Villa ha sido inmejorable. Todo es perfecto, comenzando por el personal muy amable y atento, y haciendo todo cuanto está en su mano para hacerte sentir como en casa, especialmente Dian. La habitación es impresionante y muy cómoda. El desayuno y la comida son muy buenos. 100% recomendable.

Top resort. Surrounded by jungle and ricefields. The villa's are clean and comfortable with a great private pool. The restaurant serves delicious meals. We had a wonderful massage given by Mini. Thanks to the owner Pak Bagus, mrs Dian, and the whole staff for the amazing days.

I have to say that this is one of the nicest places I have stayed in any country that I have been to. The room was excellent; a very spacious room with a comfortable bed with nice firm pillows which overall made for an excellent night's sleep. There was abundant storage space, blinds to keep flies out, a decent sized fridge & freezer to store any food. Cannot fault this room. The bathroom was also perfect; the toilet, sinks bath/shower and outdoor shower were all quality products. Plenty of clean towels and storage space. The kitchen area was great for cooking on and washing up. Spacious area. The pool was nice and large, also private. Water was very cool and refreshing so perfect for a morning swim to wake yourself up with each day. The service received was faultless. Every single member of staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. If you needed something (e.g. extra chair/towels) you had it within minutes. You can contact the reception desk on whatsapp so no need to even need your room to ask for something - can also order breakfast this way! The cleaning of the room & pool is done swiftly yet also professionally. Watched them do it one day when we asked them to do it at a set time, they came right on time and were very professional. We only had the breakfasts here, but they were amazing! Tried each breakfast option they had and the indonesian porridge is a must have. 10/10 for this place, I would certainly be very happy to stay there again.

Thank you Sri for your hospitality. We enjoyed our honeymoon stay at Griya Shanti. Everything was good. The food was good, more than enough place for two people in one Villa and very comfortable beds.

Very Enjoyable and Great Value for Money! We liked that our one-bedroom private pool villa was open, comfortable, had good view and was close to nature. The staff, Parwati, Sri, Wayan, Kadek and others were very accommodating and friendly. They easily helped with our tours and transport throughout our stay. On our last night, we had a in-house Balinese dinner which was excellent. It would certainly be worth staying there again.
