Houhaiyuan Hotel (Beijing Gongwangfu Nanluoguxiang Branch)
4.9/51102 Reviews
Houhai Area
We have had a very great experience by staying at HouHaiYuan Hotel with the following reasons: 1. Great location - this hotel is located at 前井胡同,which is a very quiet and serene location. However, it is just a 5 minute walking distance to one of the moat popular tourist attractions - 烟袋斜街,and it is also walking distance to 南锣鼓巷 (about 15 min) and to 恭王府 (about 10 min). It is a walking distance to train station 2. Cleanliness & housekeepong - the room is very clean and every items in the room are free for use, including the beer and drinks in the mini bar 3. Service - the service of the hoteliers are superb! They are very helpful and they were trying their best to assist us in many areas, including helping us in arranging transportation and also our food order as we were unable to do it ourselves due to we are not having a phone line in china.
Rongfu Laozhai Hotel (Beijing Houhai)

It was my first time to stay at Rongfu Old House Hotel. I was very satisfied. The location of the hotel is very good. It is within walking distance from Shichahai, Jingshan Park, Nanluogu Lane and other attractions. There are also many delicious restaurants around. There is a bus stop at the door and a subway station 10 minutes away. It's also very close and convenient. The hotel facilities are very good. Yuan Peng's service is very warm and thoughtful. During the period, Yuan Peng helped us solve various problems.
Wang's Shadow Puppy Culture Theme Hotel

I absolutely loved the Shadow Puppetry aspect of this hotel. They do performances every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 8pm. Even though I don't speak Chinese, I really enjoyed the performances and the demonstrations of the history and logistics of the puppets. I also got to paint my own puppets after the show (for an extra fee), which I loved. Really friendly staff and beautiful décor. It would have been nice to have some more natural light in my room and the walk back to the hotel was pretty dark at night and away from the main street, which I would have preferred to avoid as a solo female traveller. However, all of this was made clear when booking the hotel, so they set clear expectations and made it a memorable and comfortable stay. Would recommend!
Wohkoon Traveling Sun Youth Hostel (Beijing Shichahai Store)
4.4/51188 Reviews
Houhai Area
🌟Basic information: For business travel, the upper berth in a quadruple room, one night, 80 yuan. 🌟Network aspect: Basically, full coverage of WIFI can be achieved, and the speed in the room is approximately equal to 50M bandwidth. The uplink and downlink speed of mobile data is about 1.2 MB (telecom card/unicom card) 🌟Location: The location is good, next to Gulou and Yandai Xiejie. Exit b of Shichahai subway station and cross the road to Sanhe Beijing Daoxiang Village, but the hotel is in a small alley and needs to be turned around. 🌟Facilities: The design of the ladder in the quadruple room is unreasonable. The wooden board is close to the side of the ladder, and the center of gravity is easy to be unstable when going to bed, and the paint on the guardrail part is peeled off. There is a basic information prompt and luggage storage room opposite the front desk, with a linen box on the side and a 24-hour water heater. The room is a smart door lock, and a password will be sent via WeChat when checking in. The mattress is about six centimeters thick and moderately firm. The quilt is a kind of space cotton, which is very light and thin, but keeps warm. The pillow is very soft and elastic. There are bedside lamps and side lamps in the bed. There are blackout curtains by the bed. There are drawers and clothes hanging areas on the left and right sides of the door. Each person has a drawer at the head of the bed. Drawer No. 1 is clean, but No. 3 has hair, which is sticky in some parts. Large luggage can be stored. The 24-hour front desk has a hair dryer, hand soap, facial cleanser, comb, and mirror lamp in the washing area. Equipped with two drum washing machines, there are places to dry clothes, but not big. The toilet is a single room separated by composite panels, squatting and flushing automatically. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, and clothes can be changed inside. There are large bottles of shampoo and shower gel inside, so you can’t see the brand. There are two shower heads in the shower room, which need to be adjusted to produce hot water in two minutes. 🌟Talk about hygiene: There was dust on the small side table on the bed, which was obvious when the fingers slipped. There is a small stain on the mattress. Pillowcases, duvet covers and bed sheets should be removed when checking out. Basically, they can be replaced with one customer. There is a fresh air system in the room, and Beijing is non-smoking, so the indoor environment is okay. 🌟Diet: The hotel does not provide breakfast, but there is a dining area with an ultra-high-definition TV. You must take off your shoes when entering the tatami area. Within one kilometer nearby, there are chain milk tea shops such as Gongcha, Michelle Ice City, etc.; there are restaurants such as Xiaobeijing (average price: 30) and Sanhe Daoxiang Village (average price: 27). (Pastry shops, shops in the scenic area, etc. are not explained); takeaway tastes are average, not suitable for heavy/salty people. 🌟In general, as a whole, you can score 85 points or more. The whole staying experience is very comfortable. It would be better if the sanitation and facilities can be improved. More suitable for off-season travel/student poor travel. Finally, I hope that the store's business will be prosperous and make money every day!

About 200 meters through you can pass through the alley and walk to Huguosi Street. There is a red flower cake shop inside. Walking from Beihai Park and Prince Gong's Mansion, about 15 minutes. Cycling is about 5 minutes We left things in the store, and the store also took the initiative to contact.
Rong Courtyard Hotel

Overall, it's pretty good. It's styled like a courtyard house, so you can't expect it to have hotel-level facilities and services, but it has a wide space, a big bathroom, wet and dry separation and a handheld shower, and stable wifi. What's the point? Just talk to the front desk or the uncle who helps with cleaning. But it is definitely not suitable for business people because the lighting is dim and yellow. Geographically speaking, it is difficult for taxis to enter the alleys, but it only takes 7-8 minutes to get to the two nearest subway stations. The Tongmian Hotel is located in Nanluogu Lane. It is a tourist area, and you will be there as soon as you go out. Find the must-try delicacies and souvenirs to buy when you come to Beijing. The opening hours are relatively long. There are many scenic spots to visit in nearby cities, and others, such as the Great Wall, are planned for a long trip, no matter where you stay. However, going to the airport is a little troublesome, because you have to take a bus to go to the subway station with the airport line, which is inconvenient with luggage. I went to Chaoyang Airport, and ended up taking a taxi for ~80 yuan.
