Shangri-La Hotels in Beijing

Extremely dated propriety, but friendly staff makes up for it. Great value if you are attending buisness in China World Trade Center.

Cons: Personally I didn't like this hotel and won't go back. There were random pieces of mismatching furniture lined up along the wall, and just in general very old hotel, but charging 1.8k per night is completely disproportionate, if rooms were around 700 you can't complain. Pros: Breakfast buffet had good choice and the outside garden was really nice! Hotel allowed me to cancelled our second night even thought it was originally not cancellable. Much appreciated!!

Great hotel with very nice service! I love staying here. What amazed me the most were very polite and pleasant ladies at reception named Ms. Wilda and Ms Camellia. They helped me a lot with explaining different things about staying in Beijing. They were also caring about what I was going to wear on next day asking me to put more warm closes due to cold weather. I'll deffinetly come back again. Thank you!

The lobby is designed with care, and there are greenhouse plants carefully maintained. The breakfast quality is good, the ingredients are fresh, and it is quite powerful to cope with the peak of the festival. Let's talk about the shortcomings without being shy: Some ”savings”. I have stayed in Shangri-La in Suzhou High-tech Park, and I feel that there are some gaps with Suzhou, such as an empty mini bar, no scale in the room, no toiletries by the bathtub, and no instructions for hotel facilities, ordering, etc. (this is a traditional thing). It says that you can scan the code to order food, but I didn't see it. The one in Suzhou can scan the code to select services, such as asking for the items you need. Direct drinking water feels worse than bottled water. If it is summer, it may be more troublesome. The capsule coffee machine has been removed. I ordered 2 large and 1 small, but there are no children's slippers and toothbrushes... In short, I don't know if it is cost-saving or for some other reason, it's just a bit stingy. I have also stayed in Shangri-La in Dalian. In comparison, although Dalian is a little older, the service is still quite considerate, which makes people feel very comfortable. The hotel in Shougang Park has some missing items. After I got them, I felt that the service staff's service awareness was still quite poor. They were wooden, as if I needed to tell them how to serve. Maybe it's a new hotel and needs to be adjusted. Maybe the expectations are too high. Also... for some reason, you can clearly see a lot of debris in the swimming pool, which makes swimming a bit unappetizing. Although the hardware is good and new, I really hope that the pool water hygiene can be improved... There is no JACUZZI bubble pool~... I am still upset.
