Great location for a fresh new hotel that fits the bill on a budget overnight stay. Marri greeted us when we arrived and prepared grab-n-go breakfast bags for us when we arrived since we were flying out early. Modern and clean feel with free parking, friendly staff, and free breakfast.

Mears shuttle to airport 16 Sure your arrive earlier than Uber but look at your costs. Uber you decide. Mears is an automatic 3 hours before u fly.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times. Rooms are great, very comfortable. They open to an inside balcony overlooking the restaurant and lobby areas and surprisingly, the noise was well controlled! Spacious, very clean, excellent staff. Food is good in the restaurant and room service. Very convenient to just relax at the hotel with a nice pool area, Starbucks inside, and market that was always open for snacks or quick meal. Great location to MCO and only about 20 minutes to Sanford. They also let you check in early if they have availability which was great for me as I’d had some early flights coming into the area.

We arrived at the hotel around 9:30pm after a long day of traveling. We specifically picked this hotel because it advertised an on-site restaurant. Sadly, “restaurant” was an overstatement. There was no one at the bar, but a printed menu listing 5 options, all bar food (burgers, chicken tenders, hot wings or pizza). We ordered burgers and were told that they were not selling burgers tonight. So, We ordered chicken strips and tried to order a cocktail. The bar tender had no knowledge of common cocktails and when I asked what he COULD make, he pointed to the bar to show me what liqueurs he had in stock. We asked what sodas he had, and he just pointed to the snack bar across the lobby with bottled beverages. He brought our food out, and the chicken was over cooked and the fries soggy and undercooked. We decided we were too frustrated to sit down in the “restaurant” to eat our meal, so I gave him my card to pay for our meal. He took it over to the front desk to run the card and then spent several minutes fumbling about b/c the receipt did not print. I told him not to bother, that I did not need a receipt.

Perfect location, lots to do at hotel. Free breakfast, supper and 3 free drinks can't beat it. Walking distance to Disney Springs, shuttle to parks. Clean room, lots of towels, fridge, microwave & giant pool with hot tub. Felt like I was at a resort in the Caribbean. Will definitely be back.

This is a brand-new hotel in a stunning location which should be great. Instead, my family and I had a truly terrible experience from the first moment there. Don't stay at this property unless you're prepared to deal with frustration and disappointment. The hotel was nowhere close to full during our mid-week stay, yet our rooms were not ready at check-in, and the staff rudely evaded my questions about when we'd be able to have access. (This isn't a small matter when you're trying to manage increasingly tired and frustrated kids.) The property advertises an ”arrivals/departures lounge” where you can change/shower/etc. before you check-in or after you check-out, but it wasn't ready during our stay. (Of course, there wasn't anything to indicate that it wasn't open yet, and the doors were unlocked. I only figured out that it wasn't open when I tried to use the lockers inside and asked a pool attendant why the lockers weren't working.) Once we finally had access to our connecting rooms, they were a major disappointment, both in quality and layout. The connecting doors were on springs that automatically, so we had to jam bath towels in the doors to keep them open. (What's the point of having a connecting room for kids if the doors to the parents' room automatically close?) The quality of the furnishings and hardware in the room is far below what you'd expect on a property that advertises itself as a luxury resort. The vinyl flooring was not installed properly and was bubbling up at the connecting doors. The button to toggle between bath and shower operation fell off when I grazed it with my hand. There was still painter's tape all over the inside of the connecting doors -- nobody had bothered to take it off. Quality control was non-existent. Perhaps more importantly, it seems like nobody put much thought into getting the details right at this place. The only trash can in the bathrooms is tucked into the commode -- there isn't one near the sink, where it's needed most. In two bed rooms, there's a large circular table in the middle of the room between two beds, which is easy to trip on when the room is dark and impedes the flow of the room. The lobby and front entrance to the property is on the third floor -- but there's no sign in the elevators telling you that, and only the first floor is marked with a star (which, of course, usually denotes the building's main exit.) The service was no better. In the morning, we had an early reservation for a Disney breakfast, so I tried to call down twice to have the valet bring our car to the front. The hotel's phones weren't working. I tried calling the front desk from my cell phone -- still, not working. We then went downstairs and told valet in person to bring our car around, and we had to wait several minutes for it. I wish I had more nice things to say about our visit to Rosen Shingle Creek. Overall it was a nice stay, but little negatives piled up throughout, resulting in this average review. I brought my family along with me for a very large conference being held at the Orlando Convention Center, and the RSC was an official conference hotel, so many attendees were staying here. PROS . The staff! Overall, wonderful, friendly, engaging and responsive. Shout out to Heather and Mike at the Cat-Tails bar and poolside service. We had an Amazon Fresh order scheduled (there is a small fridge in the room) and the bell stand delivered it within 5 minutes of us requesting it. My mom and niece were also staying at the hotel, and the front desk attendant thoughtfully placed our rooms right next to each other. . Conference management. We had a great conference rate and the acknowledgment of our (significant) presence was thoughtful. Overall, the team was well prepared for several hundred attendees moving around the property. CONS . Rooms NOT that family friendly. I have a real issue with hotel bathroom designs that aren’t accessible for kids. I had to drag the ottoman into the bathroom area so my youngest could reach the sink. A huge leather ottoman in the bathroom is not ideal. . Substandard housekeeping. I asked for laundry bags from our service provider and was told they weren’t available. She pressured us out of our room one day saying she was trying to finish her shift early and upset my niece to the point of tears. Another morning, we had privacy lock and sign on and they were knocking at 8:30 to come in. It all felt very disconnected. . The Food. The biggest disappointment was that a resort this size, and a Universal Studios property, was such a let-down when it came to food. If you have any food allergy whatsoever, don’t stay here. The RSC makes little to no accommodation for food allergy or intolerance, which is very surprising in this day and age. My husband is celiac and other than FRENCH FRIES and VEGETABLES was extremely restricted in his food options. Only one restaurant was able to offer him gluten free bread for a burger. Food allergies are more and more common, it is unreasonable that RSC was lacking in its accommodations. In comparison to Disney properties where almost anything can be accommodated for food allergies, it was a glaring difference. Food options for children were also limited and unhealthy. After three days of eating cereal, French fries, and cardboard pizza, my kids were desperate for a freaking hot dog. None of the seven restaurants offered such a thing, but I was told they were available at the golf course snack stand. So I walk all the way out there to get three hot dogs and they were…sold out of hot dogs. Our Amazon Fresh delivery was a godsend, and there’s a Publix market at the end of the (very long) resort drive. . Universal partner means what??
