Very nice place to stay right on the Mediterranean. This is not a historical Parador like some of the Paradors, but is modern with a great location, within walking distance to the center of town. Our room was on the main floor, but there is an elevator to access the upper floor if necessary. Our room was somewhat dated, but very clean, quiet and comfortable with a big bathroom. The room had a safe and mini fridge available in the room. The room had a musty smell when the air conditioner wasn't on, or if we didn't have the patio door open to air out. The food served for breakfast and dinner was very good and didn't take long to get our order once we placed the order, but there were times when the staff was busy and it took us awhile to have someone take our order. Staff was always pleasant, spoke English, and worked very hard. It was great having free parking on the hotel lot.

Lovely hotel/apartments. Very clean in all the main buildings. Lovely outside area, pool could do with clean. Mind you, it is March, so only the very brave or silly would go in it. The surround of the pool has a few sunbeds, but plenty of other seating. Beware, there are no kettles in the room, and none are held at reception. The coffee machine takes the little coffee canisters. Takes ages to try and make a cup of tea. We ended up using a pan to boil water for brews. A kettle in the room would be a good idea. Especially in the apartments. The bar is lovely, all staff are very friendly and will help where they can. We haven't tried the food yet, so I can not comment on that. Parking is underground with limited spaces. This is via side road on the right past the hotel. There is a petrol station across the road, a big supermarket and a LIDL nearby. They close 2100. We didn't see any open restaurants nearby apart the one in hotel. Loads of little extras in the room, toothbrush and paste, cotton wool pads and buds, razor (use at you own peril), shoe horn, shoe shine sponge and a little pack of cotton, needles and buttons.

Have stayed in 3 other Servigroup Hotels, all with good service but it has to be said the reception staff at this Servigroup hotel were brilliant. Special mention to Lys, ‘Jesus & Sara. Friendly, knowledgeable, extremely helpful with all their duties carried out in a professional manner. Stayed in the Superior room 5506 with a beautiful view of the sea and the famous castle. Bed very comfortable, walk in shower, hairdryer & toiletries supplied. No kettle in the room. WIFI strong. Cleaning of room done very well. Huge selection at breakfast & dinner. If you don’t want to eat dinner you can swap to lunch instead. Staff all round from dining hall, cleaners and especially reception all friendly and courteous. Walk to Castle around 20 mins. Plenty of restaurants, cafes around the whole area. If flying from Gatwick, fly to Valencia. Out of the airport follow signs to subway Metro trains. Take train to Xativa, €1.75 per person. From Xativa get off train and head for the mainline station Estacio del Nord. From here take train to Benicarlo-*****cola. Tickets cast €9.85 per person on the Renfe website or through Trainline where there is a small charge as well. Journey takes about 1 hr 55min. No refreshments on the train, make sure to buy water or snacks before boarding. Come out of the station, take taxi to hotel, journey about 15/20 minutes, cost €15. If flying from London Stanstead, you would need to take flight to Castillon then take the train to *****carlo. Lovely place to visit and highly recommend this hotel. We had a good holiday. We booked this hotel without really knowing anything about it as a stopover on our roadtrip in Spain. What a great find!! The hotel itself is in beautiful grounds, palm trees, beautiful bougainvillea, orange groves, its a little slice of paradise (and this was in mid January!) The pools, surrounded by lawns and gazebos looked very inviting, but were a bit chilly despite the 20 degeee January sunshine. The receptionist was welcoming and very nice as was our lovely, well equiped room with a beautiful terrace with a view of the garden and surrounding mountains. The lounge areas were tastefully appointed and the open fire (burning orange wood?) made for a cosy evening backdrop to enjoy some wine and tapas. We slept very well and enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next morning, with some of the best breakfast buffet food I've had. Its a five minute stroll through the orange groves and olive trees to the coast, which has some stoney beaches, and a nice walk into town (8km there and back). All in all a really great find. Highly recommended, just wish we could have stayed a little longer.

Centric hotel, clean, friendly with all staff, perfect for spending a few days in Peñíscole .. recommended 100% .. I will doubt return to Peñíscole to this hotel
