I chose this hotel as I was touring Berlin with a friend for a few days, but he was arriving a couple of days later than me. This proved to be a great option in terms of budget, distance from the city centre and proximity to public transport. Once you come up the steps from the U-Bahn at Siemenssdamm, it’s immediately to your right. The member of staff in the reception was warm and friendly and spoke very good English as my German is not very good after studying it a little at school 25 years ago. The room was large, very clean, and well-equipped. It was too warm for me, and turning the air con down didn’t help, but the window opens very wide. The bathroom also had a bath which was a bonus. The bed is firm which I really enjoyed, but I appreciate that won’t be to everyone’s liking. I’m sure I requested the room not to be serviced but the maid had been in every day. I didn’t use the TV but the Wi-Fi was a little patchy and slow at times. There is plenty of plug sockets including one near the bed. There was a soft light on the floor lamp and a desk lamp which was great. I had the buffet breakfast one morning, which had a great and varied selection of hot and cold food, this included cereals, bread, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, sausages, fresh juice, tea, and coffee. There is a supermarket across the road open till 10 pm, which was handy to get food for dinner. Yeah, it is quiet, and felt safe. I couldn’t hear any noise from any adjacent rooms. If I’m visiting Berlin in the future on my own, I will probably stay here again.

The Management Is extremely poor DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!! The management are dishonest and opportunistic. I was told that the rates were 990 for the 6 off months and it would go up to 1290 only for the prime months. I moved into these premises with this agreement and it turns out a false pretence and what I deem was deliberate deceit by management. Now that I am here, they want 1600/month for the entire 12 months. After talking to numerous people I am not the lone victim of their deception. Several people in the same room type are on massively different rates. They seem to make it up as they go and this to me is extortion and I cannot justify even 1290/month when I consider these following experiences 1/ Took over a month to get my document to register with the Government, which you are required to do within 14 days... I don’t seem to be the isolated case reading other reviews 2/ The rooms are not cleaned on schedule.. had to ask over and over daily and it wasn’t done for nearly two weeks - also not an isolated case. 3/ The internet is a disgrace here. It is always unusable. Either you cannot connect and you need to constantly go next door to ask them to reboot the router or when you can connect it constantly drops out to zero Mbps. The maximum speed I have gotten here is around 5Mbps download with a Zero upload speed and a ridiculous 400ms ping. Currently it is again not working and takes forever to even load the google search page to write this review. Trying to access the website to find alternate accomodation is painstaking. They constantly say it will be fixed tomorrow and it is not If you watch movies or sports via the internet, forget it now, It won’t happen! 4/ I had to take cold showers for two days because the hot water was not working and for days prior it was just warm. I was told that everyone was taking showers at the same time, but the hot water was not working at anytime including when trying to wash dishes. 5/ The Vending Machines are continually out of order in the foyer. 6/ There was 3 fire alarms early in the morning in one month. You sit outside in the freezing cold and then when you are given the okay to go back the lifts are still locked out 7/ You cannot access your rooms via stairs. They did not think to add a card entry on the stairs and you can only access rooms by the two elevators 8/ There is no public train station in proximity if you need it… It is approximately a 20 mins walk to the nearest. 9/ There is no safe in the rooms to protect your valuables. The staff of the hotel are nice, but it appears the issues are with the corporate management of the apartments, which are not in Berlin. Local staff have no say over the rates or I suspect the cheap and nasty problems that are way too ongoing within the facility. AVOID THIS FACILITY AND ANY FACILITY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS MANAGEMENT!

Leonardo Hotel Berlin

Charlottenburg
I have just returned from 4 nights at the Leonardo Berlin. I chose this hotel as it was the closest to my brothers apartment near Charlottenburg Palace. The price was extremely good value for money. Wilmersdorfer Straße is a few metres from the from door with all the shops you could want. 20 minutes walk to Charlottenburg palace or 2 stops on the underground which is a 2 minute walk. Our room was a comfort twin on the 4 floor, which was extremely clean and spacious. Tea and coffee making facilities, plus a free bottle of water on arrival. There was a an excellent selection at breakfast. Bacon , scrambled eggs and sausages most mornings. Full selection of continental cheeses, meats and salads. Pasties and breads galore. The ladies in the restaurant were extremely helpful as my mother has trouble walking, they helped her to a seat while I went and got breakfast. Overall an excellent stay and would recommend to anyone. We will be staying here again on our next trip to Berlin

This hotel is amazing from the very comfortable spacious room which overlooked a lovely forest to the beautiful swimming pool to which we had to ourselves, the breakfast was second to non and the staff couldn’t do anymore if they tried to make sure we had everything that we wanted. The lovely little Easter treats every morning was such a special touch. If your driving then everywhere is easy to get too and there is plenty of parking which is either free or so cheap it may as well be. Special mentions for Nadine and Stephanie they always said good morning and took time to talk to us- thank you for making our stay such a special one.

The service was good and the staff were consistently friendly and accommodating. A waiter in the restaurant spoke no German, that should be in a hotel already be in Germany. In our opinion, the breakfast was too expensive at €19.50. But a little fish (salmon) would have belonged to it. In a Berlin hotel I actually expect the well-known ”Berliner Schribbe” for breakfast and no paper rolls. Otherwise everything was fine. Nice also the reduced price for the parking lot at the weekend.

We were again very satisfied with the accommodation - as always! When we are in Berlin, we are night here. The transport connection is cheap to reach from the HBF with line 245 easily - to the ZOO station and the center too. A metro station is also cheap to reach.

The hotel is a kind of youth hostel and is charged according to the bed. You need to prepare your own breakfast. Parking is free near the hotel, but parking is tight and you need to find it around.
