On the first day, without understanding the lira exchange rate, my wife and I drank 40 grams of cognac for 100€! The breakfasts are very meager. The whole point of the restaurant is the views and the pool. + a huge family room, but the light in places did not work, the phone, etc. Probably worth the money. There is a taxi station nearby, which is very convenient for moving around the city. 150 lira is the minimum bill for a taxi.

This hotel has magnificent views and exquisite outdoor amenities but forget the rooms! We had 2 rooms. Both had no hot water and drainage problems in the shower. One of our toilets would not flush and a hairdryer would not work - there was an exposed live wire, a safety issue. A staff member confirmed the whole hotel is affected by hot water issues (generally the 10-30 minutes it takes for water to heat up) and there have been many complaints but the owner is not responding to them. This hotel will be great when these maintenance issues are addressed but we can’t recommend it until they are.

I really liked this hotel although I was only there for one night. The room was spotless and had a nice patio area. The pool looked lovely and the breakfast was local but with a decent amount of choice. I would stay here for longer if I come back to Bodrum.

This hotel is located on top of a hill and is about a 20-minute walk to town. There is a taxi stand right outside the hotel which is convenient when needed. Our room (305) faced the water and we had a nice view of the castle. A cute balcony with a couple of chairs and a small table is attached to the room. The infinity pool (not heated) was below in the garden with lounge chairs. A larger pool is near the restaurant. The room had a/c, tv, fridge, 2 bottled water per day, free toiletries & free wifi. Unfortunately, our room wasn’t very clean. We had trash in the bin, no toilet paper, dirty towels on the patio chair, no hot water in the morning, and the water in the shower would shut off while in use for no reason (I take quick 5 minute showers). Like all hotels there aren’t enough towel racks to hang the used towels to dry. The patio door didn’t lock which is a security issue as the occupants from the next room could climb over. Other tour members who were located on the 5th and 6th floor had more issues that we experienced. The hallway had no lighting, smelt of cat piss and poop, there were piles of dirt in their rooms, their rooms became extremely cold at night (they asked for more blankets and wore their jackets to bed), and they had no hot water for bathing for the 2 days we were there. The included breakfast was ok. Everything was at room temperature including the coffee, milk for coffee & cereal, and yogurt which I didn’t touch because of this reason. There was a nice selection of cheese blitz, cold cuts, various cheese, cereal, breads, pastries, cookies and Turkish items. I love that they had Turkish delights out to sample. The made to order eggs were a bit weird as the scrambled eggs were leaking water onto the plate it was served on. Cats were in the restaurant so beware if you are allergic to them. This hotel would be a great place to stay if these issues were resolved. We heard that they may closed after this season to renovate the place.

Apologies for the long review in advance but I know I would have wanted to know this prior to booking. This hotel was absolutely beautiful. The views were incredible, especially from our sea view room. It has huge potential. Myself and my partner NEVER complain about anything. We don’t like to and honestly I find it awkward so it takes a lot for us to speak up but unfortunately we had issue after issue. When we arrived we were shown to our room by a lovely, younger member of staff who carried both of our cases for us. We were very impressed by the view and the room was clean (all be it a few scrapes etc on the wall which I think people refer to in reviews but there was nothing dirty). We noticed the door lock wasn’t working so my partner asked at reception if someone could have a look and fix it. This was fixed but then the key card scanner stopped working and we were locked out. The man who came to repair it ended up having to completely remove the whole lock off the door. He left half way through fixing it and disappeared so we were still stuck outside without any of our stuff. We know these things happen but the man was gone for a long time and we had no clue where he was then another man came to the room and told us we had to move room. I was a little annoyed at this because that meant moving all of our stuff that we had already unpacked but again we were happy to do it as these things happen however, when we got to the new room the sea view was completely blocked by trees and we had paid extra to have the view so I wasn’t happy to move to this room. I tried to explain to the man and he said “sorry” and then proceeded to get his phone out, go on to WhatsApp and show us pictures of a boat cruise asking us if we wanted to go. At first we thought this was because of the hours we had waited on our room being fixed (taking up half a day of our holiday as we couldn’t go anywhere or do anything without money etc). He then told us it was equivalent to 200 euro! He was trying to sell us a boat cruise in the middle of this mess we had going on with our room. This is what really made me quite angry. Unfortunately sometimes things break and we understand that but the complete unprofessionalism was inexcusable. My partner tried to explain to reception however their English is not good at all (which would be understandable if they didn’t list it on the *********** and ********** website as a language they can speak!). My partner couldn’t get across to them what he was trying to say so I went with everything typed into google translate. The man said sorry and that we could stay in our first room but we still couldn’t get across to him that the twist lock on the door was still broken so we just gave up on that and stayed in our room and trusted the key card scanner to be enough. The following night my husband needed an iron. He rang reception and the man couldn’t understand his English so he past the call onto another member of staff. My partner said “

We stayed at the Magna Manastir hotel for 2 nights on 28th and 29th August. This was an unplanned stay, due to the air traffic control issues, however we were delighted with the hotel and would love to return at some point. The views from the terrace over Bodrum are absolutely amazing, and the hotel is peaceful but only a short taxi ride to the harbour which makes it ideal for popping down into Bodrum. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful, and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast and lunch on the terrace, whilst admiring the views. There is a really nice pool, and a smaller pool at the side of the hotel with views over the bay. We would definitely recommend the Manastir hotel!

I was looking for a hotel which was close to Bodrum city center but didn’t want to compromise on a good view. This hotel was the best choice we found which offered not only a close distance to the city center but a marvelous view from the hotel grounds and luckily from our room too. We stayed in the luxury double room on the ground floor which was overlooking the infinity pool directly + harbor view. The room was spacious, very clean and had great wardrobe space too. Staff were super helpful at all times. Breakfast spread was generous and food quality was great. Breakfast tip: you can request a freshly made omelette from the chef. Things to know: hotel is a 10 minutes walk from the beach/city center. It’s located on top of a hill which can be a workout but there’s a taxi stand right outside the hotel which is convenient when needed. Hotel has two pools: infinity pool overlooking the gorgeous harbor/sea view and the regular pool. Wi-Fi: the signal was best in the breakfast area, all the pool areas and the terrace of our room however when inside the room itself, not the best Wi-Fi signal. This wasn’t an issue for me personally as I had bought a data package when I landed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful Hotel! Near to Bodrum Center (walking distance) delicious breakfast & dinner. Friendly & helpful staff. Rooms are spacious, clean & comfortable. One drawback, the wifi wasn't too good in the room, but great in the restaurant. I gladly recommend this hotel for adults and small families. ❤

The hotel is placed on a hill with beautiful view. I recommend to take a taxi if you dont come by car. The walk is exhausting in The Heat. Its a small parking area outside. The respecion area is simple and The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel seem old, But Its a Nice and beautlful place. The drawback is that our room had some kind of bad smell, and The shower was irritating. The showerhead did not keep Its place and it was basicly impossible to have a good and relaxing shower. The water temperature Also changed alot during the use, so be on guard so you dont burn. The breakfast had a lot of options, tasted Nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. Also the rest of the hotel area, spesially the pool are is amazing and served good and tasty snacks. All in all i expected a little more, But we are all happy with the stay.

Really nice relaxing vibe at this hotel. Great location away from all hustle and bustle but not too far away either so can walk or get taxi for cheap. Fantastic views of Bodrum from the hotel and its infinity pool is amazing. Only downside was rooms abit dated but the rest of the hotel made up for this and we could have sat poolside all day long. Well staffed and very helpful and friendly. Serves good tasty food all day. We will be back.

Generally, I think it's hard to get a bad view in Bodrum - all hotels climb up the mountain and overlook the beautiful Aegean Sea. But Manastir has a lovely pool and open restaurant area that offers magnificent sunset views. The food is nice - not incredible (not much seafood given its location), and the atmosphere is lovely. The hotel is quaint, although the rooms are quite tired. Good option close to the smaller ferry terminal (going to Kos) - although you will still need a taxi to reach it.

Arrival - Receptionist was not very pleasant and in fact rude, she started to engage in conversation with Turkish clients mid way through us checking in and ignored us! She also made a point (three times) of letting us know that we were only on a B&B rate (which of course we knew). Room was not available/ready on checkin and we had to wait until post the standard checkin time (2pm) to access the room. Hotel porter carried one suitcase for us and I carried the other, he then stood waiting for his tip! Room was a Sea View with Pool room, there are about 8 of these on the infinity pool level. Be aware that only half have the view directly to the sea and infinity pool. Ours was right at the end of the block and had a sea view only, which was spoiled due to equipment and materials left (daily) outside our room by the builders. Grass area in front of these rooms was unkept and overgrown and only on our day of departure were theses areas given some attention. Rooms had insufficient lighting and no seating to sit at the dressing table. No full length mirror in the room, although bathroom has a large mirror waist height and above. Building works are still ongoing following a change of Hotel ownership and closure earlier this year for refurbishments. Sea view rooms with Pool were being painted and having fixtures and fittings amended. Other building works were happening at the poolside, an outdoor kitchen area was being installed during the daytime and whilst we tried to relax by the pool. Masonry drills, workman etc - and the bar staff turned the music up even louder to block out the workman noise (ridiculous). A-la-carte evening dining was unavailable throughout our stay, it seems the restaurant was closed or not fully refurbished to allow guests! Main pool area: Lack of towels by the poolside caused a lot of frustration to many guests and there was no urgency to provide towels when staff were asked. Pools do not seem to be cleaned daily and you can see lots of grime and dirt in both pools when you look closely. Staff at pool area played royalty free music too loud and on repeated loop, it was driving all guests mad! Breakfast - despite images on website and instagram, the breakfast is a good selection of Turkish/Central European cuisine - it doesn't cater for international travellers, no croissant, jam, pain-au-chocolate, no freshly prepared eggs or omelettes. And you have to pay £2 per orange juice daily extra! Tea and coffee is Turkish options only. Supervisor regularly skipped outside of the restaurant at service and would stand having a cigarette before returning to the service. Also breakfast room has loud music playing. WiFi signal is terrible and we didn't connect in our room for our entire stay. Satellite TV in our room also didn't work! And the final straw - we were asked to move rooms mid way through our stay so the builders could decorate and fit out the room we were in!!!! We declined and said they would have to wait un

As I've noted on many posts about Adventures Abroad trips, the selection of hotels they use is uniformly very good with some that rise even above that standard and the Manastir Hotel in Bodrum is one of those. It has a great location on the side of hill that provides for great views of the harbour and is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the harbour front to be quiet, yet still within easy walking distance. The photos gives a better idea than just words. The rooms are spacious and airy compared to many European style hotels. I've stayed in rooms in Venice that were smaller than the bed in the Manastir. The room's best feature was the balcony which is where I took the sunset photo and also where I was able to get some photo editing and writing done with lovely bougainvillea flowers only feet away and a beer at hand. Although I'm not a pool person, many in our group took advantage of the great weather on our day off to spend some time lounging and swimming there. I'm surprised a previous reviewer found fault with the breakfast buffet. It was certainly one of the most comprehensive in all the hotels we stayed at in Turkey and we had no complaints. I can never get enough cheese and olives and there was a great selection at the Manastir. Overall the breakfasts here are healthy as the last thing you need on a day of exploring Bodrum on foot is a gut full of 'Traditional English Breakfast'. The location of the hotel and its view are its top assets, but I found little to quibble about in any other department.

Hello travellers , I only discovered Manastir hotel because my sister stayed there a while ago and today is her birthday! So far so brialliant! We have received only good vibes , from table service to room service it’s a exceptional good , almost 5 stars hotel . Last night we had special oven prepared Lahmacun by a table for two with a candil lights , Bodrum castle view , watched sun set listening great pool jazz mixed music with a tranquility atmosphere, they even supplied a warm shawl to us, in case we get the evening chill , if you ever come to Bodrum Manastir is the the only option ! It’s up to hill by the monks built years ago , so they kept the some of the original stones , all air conditioning, we stayed with a balcony with great view , gives you wow effect only 7 minutes walking distance to town ,so don’t wait ! Just booked your next adventure!
