Best Western Plus the Ivywall Resort-Panglao

Had a fantastic stay! The restaurant on the basement level is right next to Alona Beach, which made getting around and shopping super convenient. Plus, you can literally open your door and see the ocean.

I planned a 5-day, 4-night trip to Bohol and stayed at two hotels. Choosing BW for the third and fourth nights was truly shocking. On the day we checked in, our itinerary ran until after 8 PM, followed by dinner and a massage, so we didn't get to our room until 11 PM. After a shower, I just crashed and didn't pay much attention. The next morning, I woke up early, went to the restaurant for breakfast, and then came back to the room for a short rest. The housekeeping staff had already made the bed (I'm not sure if they changed the sheets or just tidied them up). Suddenly, I saw a bloodstain on the bottom edge of the sheet! I was absolutely disgusted, thinking I might have slept under that comforter last night. It's truly outrageous for a four-star resort hotel to have such quality.

The environment is right on the beach, very lively. There are restaurants next to the hotel. It's convenient to rent a car for sightseeing around. A tourist bus is 600 pesos a day, which is the official price. For private car charters, you can negotiate the price. Breakfast is good, and you'll find everything you need just a short walk down the street.

Great hotel, but you could say there are no sun loungers on the beach. Around 10 AM, they put exactly 5 of them on the concrete, under direct sun.

Overall, it's great! It's just a stone's throw away from the boat departure point for excursions.

The triple room, advertised as having two double beds, actually only had two extended single beds. It was quite cramped for two adults to share one bed. The room itself was small, and once the extra bed was in place, there was barely any room to open our luggage or walk around. This triple room is definitely not suitable for three adults. Furthermore, being on a lower floor, we could hear the hotel's band at night. If you're a light sleeper or dislike noise, I wouldn't recommend this room type.

The backdoor opens right onto Alona Beach, but to get to the main street from the front, you have to navigate a winding, muddy path. The staff's service is inconsistent.
