If you're looking for a lovely, modern hotel, recently refurbed with great staff and good food, then La Cachette is for you. Lovely chilled atmosphere, with plenty of places to camp out when not on the slopes. Rooms (especially the bathrooms) are pretty small as ski hotels often are, but the public areas in the hotel are very airy and spacious, and the jacuzzis on the terrace are fab at the end of a day on the slopes. The resort of 1600 itself it pretty tired/dated with not much else going on, but you're not going to Les Arcs for the architecture - the variety of red runs more than makes up for it.

Loved it - it's been refurbished to a high standard and has a very cool, civilised yet relaxed feel to it. The rooms are not huge, but are very comfortable and the bathroom was to a high standard. Could do with a little more storage as skiiers do not travel light (and perhaps a mirror other than in the bathroom). Buffet breakfast and dinner both of a very high quality - not your usual average chips etc. but a little more interesting, fresh and healthy (if you want it!). Breakfast was especially good with fresh crepes and omelettes made to order. One point to note is that drinks are not included with half-board dinner. The bar area is very nice and relaxed, a nice spot to drink and play cards. Heated boot room with easy access to a ski lift - not 100% ski in ski out but very close, only a really short walk up some steps which is perfectly doable with ski boots on. Would visit again, happily!

We arrived at Hotel La Cachette on the 27th for a 6 night stay with our dog and have had the best time ever!!!! The staff have been SO accommodating and friendly from start to finish and clearly work incredibly hard to make guests happy. We drove 10 hours through the night from the UK with the dog and arrived at 10am, however check in wasn’t until 5pm. Fortunately after buying our skii’s and passes, reception got us checked in at 1pm. The Cabane rooms are a perfect size with the dog and a beautiful view of the mountain. The only downfall is parking, it was incredibly busy when we arrived with no spaces for hotel guests, so we parked our car on a side where others were parked. Only to find that when we needed to grab something from the car that night, it was gone???! We panicked thinking it had been stolen, however Reception were really quick in helping us and advised the Police had moved it and even dropped us down to find it! (Just be aware of this when parking for your stay!) A big highlight for us has been the food….WOW!!? Without a doubt the best hotel buffet food we’ve ever had, so much choice every morning/evening and you certainly get your moneys worth!!! (The Oysters were a big bonus) The lounge area is perfect for after ski or dinner, just chilling there with a drink, playing a game with the fire on was so lovely. We anticipated it being fairly stressful with the dog, but it was anything but. The terrace was great for him to stretch his legs off lead and he chilled every night with us in the lounge. We took him up the slopes for a walk around 7am every morning/night, for a couple of hours before the chairlifts open at 9am and he would stay in the room and sleep all day! We CANNOT fault the hotel, incredible value for money and amazing service, thank you so much! Kay, Nick and Reggie xxx

This cannot be a four star rated hotel. It’s not stated on their website. I’ve traveled to Europe every winter for the last 10+ years and we only stay at four star hotels. This hotel was a real step down. The rooms were small with basic amenities. Hotel needs work on the outside. The entrance to the hotel is awful. A rusty old wheelbarrow, and building materials haphazardly thrown near the “entryway “. I say “entryway” because you wouldn’t believe it’s the entryway. The signage is very poor inside and out. You enter at ground level into a poorly lit hallway to find the elevator. (Think of a Stephen King novel). Reception is on the fourth floor. You have to see it to believe it. This has been mentioned in other reviews as well. The food was good. It is all served buffet style. Chefs were not friendly when asked about ingredients. Nothing was labeled as far as ingredients. I am celiac, and as such, I need to be very careful. I had informed the hotel prior to my arrival asking for any accommodation they could make. Let me be clear, there was no accommodation. When I asked the female restaurant maitre d if there were any gluten-free desserts on the dessert table, she checked quickly and came back and told me I should “scrape off the crumbs from the top of the dessert and eat the rest.” Wow!! What an ingenious idea. I didn’t think of that, I should’ve told her! The shops, etc. surrounding the hotel need a facelift. It’s a 60-year-old village, and it looks like it. Come here for the skiing but do not come here for the ambience or you will be sorely disappointed. Next year it’s back to Austria or Italy where ‘four star’ really means four star!

The Hotel La Cachette was mostly good, but has a few areas for improvement. Good ski-in-ski-out position, good boot room with plenty of space, benches to sit on for booting up, and individual combination lock lockers for each room. My room had a great view over Bourg St Maurice. The bar had three nice draft beers. My room could have been better in some ways though. The first is a strange quirk that I’ve frequently seen in hotel rooms throughout the world. My wardrobe had about 1.5 meters of hanging rail and, wait for it, just six coat hangers. I’ll never understand that; why does a hotel room wardrobe provide a long hanger rail and a measly handful of hangers? Something else that’s common and baffling in my experience: why are hotels rooms often badly lit? Moody lighting is good, I guess, for relaxing and watching TV, but a darn nuisance if engaged in something that requires you to see what you’re doing. Usually, however, one can go to the bathroom if light is needed. However, my room in the Hotel La Cachette was badly lit everywhere, including the bathroom. The bathroom had one downlighter above the sink, and no window; I’d have preferred more light to shave by. Another quirk of my room emerged gradually during my week’s residence: my room was infested with an unknown number of flies. I could guess at dozens, but there might have been hundreds. I didn’t recognise the problem until my penultimate day because, throughout the week, they kept appearing in ones, twos, and threes, and I kept killing them in ones, twos, and threes, expecting each one to be the last. It was only on the day before I checked out that I shone my smartphone torch into the boxing around the radiator under the window. I could see dozens of flies standing motionless as if dead, but they probably weren’t. I don’t know how many more were hidden under and behind the radiator; scores, perhaps hundreds. I’m guessing maybe the room’s windows were left open during the hot summer months, flies moved into the spaces around the radiator, and then windows were closed, sealing them into the room. The room really needed a spray of fly killer and some vacuuming in all its nooks and crannies. Anyway, they didn’t bite, and being summer flies that had survived into December, they were easy to kill, at least in small numbers. Still, I recommend you inspect inside the boxing around the radiator using a torch when you first enter your room. Cleanliness elsewhere was a bit of an issue. My bedsheets were clean, but the room hadn’t been cleaned as thoroughly as it should have been, and not just inside the radiator boxing. The LED lighting ***** behind the bed headboard sported an impressive collection of dust and dead flies. I gave it a wipe on day one. Something that pleasantly often struck me was that the hotel had plenty of staff. There seemed to be two people ready to serve in places where most hotels might have only one. There were usually two staff at the reception desk, two staff at

Great hotel. Newly refurbished, excellent staff and great food. Good location for easy access to the slopes. The spa was good with open air hot tubs. We were a family of 5 in a family suite which was a bit of a squeeze but otherwise the room was good.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic hotel and it exceeded all my expectations. The hotel boasts excellent facilities, including a spa and gym, and the food was absolutely delicious. However, what really made my stay memorable was the friendly and welcoming staff. They were always willing to help and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the ski lifts, making it the perfect choice for a winter getaway. I highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return.
