The place is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again. Our room was comfortable with good aircon to beat the humidity. We chose a cabin with shared bathroom, and the bathroom facilities were clean, with great showers.

I booked and paid a deposit of $145.00 and was not told until I broached the subject of a live band playing at the cafe attached to the resort on friday and saturday nights .When we arrived on a thursday we find our chalet was 5 metres from the cafe which is an open area and music blaring away on the music system , when I confronted the resorts receptionist , she merely shrugged and said even though they owned the property they had no control over the operation of the cafe . When asked if we could move to a quieter chalet she said they were booked out ! We decided to try and book into a different establishment which we did . In the meantime I was told by a previous guest that only was there live music at the cafe on friday and saturday but also sunday and the cafe also had a special night on tuesdays were once again the music system would be blaring . I approached the receptionist again and was told we would forfeit our deposit . I would never recomend Horseshoe Bay Resort to anyone from this unpleasent experience

Love the fact this caravan park is a very short walk to the beach. There’s a privately run cafe at the beach providing a good selection of food for breakfast, lunch and weekend dinners. I stayed in the self contained pink cabin and my only complaint would be the tiny ants that made an appearance every now and then. The RAID spray the proprietor used when I told him didn’t work. The pool is tired looking but still refreshing if you don’t want to swim at the beach. If relaxation is what you want then this may be the place for you though best to avoid school holidays if you don’t have kids.
Response from Property: Hi, We are very busy during school holidays and Grey Nomad season and yes a lovely piece of paradise for relaxation. Thank you. Horseshoe Bay Resort

The proximity to the beaches was superb, and the little café had nice food and very friendly. The living conditions were very beachhouse but totally adequate for our needs.

The facilities and location was nice, we were just let down by the very rude staff (1 male and 1 female) who obviously had nothing better to do than to stalk our exact location upon ‘checkout’ (AKA moving off your grass patch and driving past the other empty spaces they so desperately needed empty on time). Checkout was at 10am, we were packed up by 9:45am and were simply stood chatting to the lovely neighbouring couple. One staff member drove past us 3 times giving us evils and tapping his watch, along with asking very sarcastically, if we are ‘leaving today’, followed by an incredibly rude phone call from the office 5 minutes later asking if ‘we needed to pay for another night because we hadn’t left yet’. We drove off the site at 10:25am and next check in was from 2pm so I really don’t see an issue unless they needed to mop and hoover the grass maybe?! It’s a shame people don’t realise that being so rude can ruin someone’s entire impression and whole experience.

The location is beautiful, the restaurant also, however the cabin we stayed in was really uncomfortable - the bed left me with back issues and pain and I had to see a physiotherapist and doctor for pain medication. The room was not very clean as there was sand on the floor. The air con didn't work well, one of the windows didn't close properly, and the outside awning was not properly tightened so the wind blowing made the awning constantly flap and the noise made it hard for my young child to rest.

Vans are squashed in, the welcome brigade of pensioners will tell you how to park your van, even if you can do it on your own. They are extremely clicky and do their best to act like they own the place. 🤣 Kids are not welcome here as I noted from observing, won’t bring the grandkids. As s matter of fact we won’t be back. 😡
Response from Property: Hi, Thank you for your review. We do welcome children as we have lots of families visit. We encourage guests to come to Reception should there be an issue in the park from other guests. Very busy here for the Nomad season. Hoping to see you again in the near future.

The location is perfect for family's. The cabins are cute and also great for families. The cabins are a little aged and may need a new coat of paint but still great to stay in.

We were told off for using Wotif to make our booking. The room was smelly on arrival (musty) and we had to sweep the floor and wipe down the outside table. The rules around the swimming pool put you off using the pool, $20.00 for a pool cue in the recreation room which to be honest was more like a junk storage room. Then we were concerned that we would be charged for leaving any rubbish in the rubbish bin that we took it with us.

The shower block was very clean, and the room was comfortable, although a suggestion would be to update the drawers and cupbords, also put rubber mats on each step,to help with wet weather. Oveall,we enjoyed our stay, and the Peacock was a bonus!!!!.

Loved the cafe on the beach front and that there are food options in walking distance from accommodation. I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay. Liked that there was a pool to use as well.

A stunning spot in the best part of Bowen. We stayed in a colourful beach view stand alone unit which was well equipped and spacious for just the two of us. The pool area is a bit tired and in need of some modernising. We attempted to use what we thought was a BBQ but it was in a state of disrepair. We had issues with the main TV in the lounge area with many of the buttons on the remote not working. Fortunately there was another TV in the bedroom that worked fine. Bowen itself has limited dining and shopping so just be aware of that. For a casual mean, go to Birdy's fish and chips at the wharf. You can dine out that back overlooking the boats and the sunset. Pretty nice.
