Country Cottages of Bridgetown

Having just stayed at this accommodation I am disgusted to report the owners of this property are extremly rude and uninviting. From the moment we arrived the welcome was none existent to the point of darn right rude as our friend waited to receive the key. Cottage was nice enough tbf but we were told we're were NOT allowed to use the top bunk. Our ladies especially two were actually no bigger or heavier than a 12year old anyway. So as my chest was extremly heavy from treatment the girls decided to give me the double bed to recuperate and instead of actually sleeping on the top bunk as he demanded because it was for a child we took the mattress onto the floor for one of our party to sleep on. Next day on *****ping all the beds we discovered doonas & pillows were stained so badly we couldn't believe we had slept in these. Our friend received a phone call from the owner after we had left the accommodation spotless, to say he was charging us another $40 as we had used the top bunk. She reassured him we hadn't but he put the phone down on her and apparently the woman was screaming at her from the background. I rang to speak to him on my arrival home and he hung up on me twice. This is totally inappropriate behaviour and he took the funds and sent an email not to ever come back. I have travelled extensively across the world and I can not believe that the treatment we received from these hosts is in the least acceptable, they are unbelievably disgusting people and I recommend no-one should be booking with them ever again, from a very upset customer - Yolanda Baty Mandurah WA

Very disappointed. Could have been such a positive visit. The owners were rude on all occasions of communication. We stayed in Cottage 4. Booked for 4 people paid for 4 People. We were told not to use the top bunk due to weight issues. We abided by that rule, however we took the mattress off of the bunk and placed on the floor in the lounge as one of the ladies was under current treatment and came down with a heavy chest and breathing difficulties. We thought it best not to share a room or double bed with her on this occasion. The mattress was urined stained and needs replacing and the doona and pillows on the double bed was also very badly stained and not fit for accommodation standards. This is not good enough at all. We left the place as we found it. They charged us an extra $40 for using the extra mattress. Recommend- NEVER. They sound like they should retire as they could not even discuss the extra charge with us and hung up on us twice, when we tried to explain. The most rude and arrogant hosts I have ever stayed with. The environment was quiet and the farm animals and birds were lovely to see.

This is a very comfortable cottage with easy access and extreme quiet. Kitchen was well set up for self catering but the cottage is not within walking distance to the town.
